oh Lord I'm on a train here in Dublin, I forgot my headphones, So I'm reading comments. So frustrating not being able listen to vlog. From comments trip and buys seem be fantastic. Will I ever get home this evening to watch all your adventures with sound Stephanie.😢
Stephanie's positivity is wonderful! I have a similar situation, and am now making great efforts to deal with it all with humor and aplomb like Stephanie does!!
The little table is by Maitland-Smith which is a high-quality American company founded by an antique dealer from London and located in North Carolina (our furniture center). Your table is a vintage piece, no longer in production. Looks great in the study.
They sold other Maitland Smith pieces in the auction, including their doll house cocktail bars. They looked incredible, but they were too expensive for us
And I LOVED IT IMMEDIATELY! Thank you for taking us to Venice! I have never been and do hope to visit one day….also love the snippet of Maria playing piano!
Stephanie and Philip Oh my god how you have hit the jackpot with that bed , furniture and hangings !!! I have true fabric envy now but delighted for you both and all the Lalande guests Your aunt and uncle are a pure delight as is the whole of your family
Having watched a few other vlogs about renovations of chateaus, I can honestly say that you tell the best stories full of energy, fun, and wonder. Even your serious moments are so interesting. I know you put a lot of work into it, and it shows. Bravo.
Staying at Château de LaLande was a wonderful dream come true for me. I had a hint what was going to be changing in Bonne Maman and it was exciting news. Who knew how exciting the new furnishings were. The Royals had slept on these furnishings when they stayed in Italy. I loved Bonne Maman. It did feel as if I was in a very special room for grandmothers. I certainly have that title.
Thank you both for an exciting lovely time. La Chatre will be in my memory bank for a long time. It was very special to me. Thank you again, Philip. Hope to return in a couple of years. Love to all.
poor mommy, not everyone is as lucky as you to have a mommy like yours. Wish we could keep them around forever. wonder what she says about you. oh Stephanie! I love how you express yourself. lol
The joke at the beginning about putting a carnivorous fish in the lake and Mummy’s influence was laugh out loud funny. 😂 Thank you for this adventure, it was lovely. I loved the old shop with all of the fabrics, so rich in color and texture. Looking forward to see the set up of the bedroom.! How’s the Grand Salon coming along? Have you fixed the settling problem yet. Thanks for taking “me” along with you. ❤ You should make a Chateau Cookbook, even with recipes that are similar to what you eat abroad that you enjoy. 🎉
It's been a while since we heard anything about the major structural repairs above the Grand Salon. Didn't you have to tear down some walls before putting in new support beams?
Italy is my most favourite place, and just seeing Italy and different areas made my day, but also little sad cause I wish I was there, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself and the stuff you got was beautiful, loved and enjoyed this flog so much, Thank you x
My goodness Steph, I am so overjoyed to have found your channel! It brings me such joy! Being of French descent, and my late mothers heritage being from France, I love exploring the French culture and countryside with you! It is my dream to one day, if I am lucky enough, to come and explore France and maybe even stay at your beautiful Chateau! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us! ❤
The Swiss are very organised! I am Swiss by marriage and I actually love my adopted country, after leaving a revolution in Mozambique. I feel home every time I return to visit the family . I have been living in South Africa for the last 44 years and I wish I had a Château to return to like your mom ❤
I am lying on my comfy bed, in your car going from France, through a tunnel, into Switzerland to Venice and all this lying in bed on a drizzly Melbourne Afternoon. I’m on holiday! Thanks you two, good fun, vicki
What a beautiful drive though long and tiring. I do so appreciate all the places you take us along. Things and countries I will never see any other way.

I caught the repeat … I’m so excited to see Venice again I visited in 2000 … the fabric is gorgeously unreal … that 3rd dress was made for you Stephanie
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking us with you. I’ve never seen this part of France, a train ferry for a tunnel, or this part of Italy. Such fun!!!
You’re so lucky to be able “pop” over to Venice for just a few days. The furniture and fittings are amazing. I can’t believe you got those dressers and dressers so cheap. They’re beautiful. What an incredible bonus to get all the extra fabric. You’re going to have fun with them.

Remember those wonderful interviews a few years ago of the inhabitants of Lalande? Perhaps time for another round with the 'new' group? Thanks Maria

I loove Venice and my late husband took me there for our 20th anniversary. If I was a Millionaire I would have a palazzo there and spend as much time there as possible. I still want to visit Venice once more before I die .
Such a blessing this was. Stephanie your so blessed to get this furniture and the free materials. Can't wait too see all In Place and the renovations completely finished. The whole video was AMAZING and really wish it could have gone on and on. So happy for you and Philip to enjoy your travels . Thank you for posting ❣🍾🥂🤗

What an exciting trip. Oh! The fabrics, furniture and the history! Thank you so much! Just found your channel What fun! We here on the West coast of USA don't have the treasures ya'all do! Congrats!
I'm from New Zealand - two little islands near the bottom of the earth surrounded by lots of ocean. The idea of driving across countries in a couple of days is sooo trilling to me. What an adventure (Venice omg ❤) with such exquisite treasures going home to the chateau. xo
Yes, by the end of the sale many pieces (including our desk and chests of drawers) were going for €50 (so probably closer to €70 including fees). As Amaury said, you’d pay that for the marble tops alone! Definitely cheaper than IKEA

The guy who plays the the 1800s ghost Thomas in the BBC version appears in an episode of the American version as an actor they hire to play the American scoutmaster who was killed by an arrow.
@Michele Yamamoto that's good to hear! I just had not heard any reviews yet and didn't want to be disappointed by comparing them. I'm definitely going to give it a watch. Thanks!
It's so fun to see you enjoying that train for cars. Being swiss, I used to take that train at least once a year going on holidays with my family, and I've never even stopped to think twice about it being special. I remember seeing people leaving their cars once or twice during the years. My mother would always lock the car doors, so we children wouldn't get any ideas.

A truely wonderful visit to Venice, beautiful fabric and scenic views to die for. The bed and fabric you bought is stunnung, plus all the other matching furniture....what a bargain. Maria finishing the video playing the piano beautifully, you all dancing in the kitchen was the end highlight. Thank you so much for sharing this. Just a little tip Stephanie, I always carry a small flat packet at the bottom of my handbag of hand wipes, these remove any stain immediately on silk, cashmere or wool and cotton. Just hold the wipe into the stain to wet it a minute then gently wipe the stain from outside edge to centre, it will dry in a few seconds with the stain completely gone. From me with a tendency to be a messy eater being vision impaired. 💕🇦🇺
Love watching you interact with your aunt and uncle. I see such a special bond. It takes a village… thanks for taking us along with you to Italy. It was beautiful 😊
Astonishing!!! 50 euro's for the chests of drawers each and the the desk etc! And then the wonderful bed crown, head board, curtains and so on. Really, the most exquisite buy!!! Congrats!!!
When I drive, I start at 3am,, stopping at each 1/2 tank for more water and coffee, When I stop for gas, I get more water and coffee, restroom break and sweet walk for dog. I miss all the sun in my eyes, traffic, and so feel safer.
I loved everything about this vlog! Two days drive cracks me up though. My children all live in Tennessee and we live in Texas. I do the drive to them in one day. 14 hours with stops for fuel and food. I do take it in two days if I have my 89 year old MIL with me! Hehe! Wish the scenery was this lovely! Although. Eastern TN is beautiful!
Yes, we Australians are used to driving distances as well. When you consider we have seven mainland states (one is tiny) in a country the size of USA we do drive and drive and drive a lot 🤣🤣

I’ll never see the wonderful places you visit so thank you for giving me a taste of the loveliness!
Very excited for you to have the new bed and fabrics.
Wonderful video! My only “tender complaint” is that we could not hear the lovely Maria play a bit longer! 🌸🌺🌼
After a tough week this really cheered me up ❤ Such a treat to see Venice, your wonderful adventures and of course Lalande life xx
I laughed out loud at the story about the fish in the lake and Isabelle. 😂❤
Congrats!!!
That bed is magnificent!!! OMG!
I've never seen that style of train before, but oddly enough I dreamed of one a few years ago.
I thought it was great too I wonder where is goes from in Switzerland and where to in Italy !
A lovely Vlog. Everything you have purchased is sublime. Bon Maman will look even more beautiful. So good to see Venice again. ❤
When I drive, I start at 3am,, stopping at each 1/2 tank for more water and coffee, When I stop for gas, I get more water and coffee, restroom break and sweet walk for dog. I miss all the sun in my eyes, traffic, and so feel safer.
That was so much fun to watch! Stephanie, you looked radiant while riding in that boat. Thank you for sharing such a lovely adventure. ❤️
Stephanie you are incredible x
Heavenly fabric! Charming furniture pieces. Can't wait to see Bon Maman suite re-done!
What a great buy!!! Thanks for sharing the journey!
