Yeah definitely hope DBX3 has a lot of the MMORPG Dragon Ball online had . The Bulma Tech with Guns and Ki Gauntlets looks like it would be fun too build a Hero like that .
If there's another Xenoverse or Kakarot esque RPG, hopefully, more from DBO will be brought in. Hell, I remember MasakoX's videos on the DBO future. He pointed out, in hindsight, that Sho could be a descendant of Mai *and* Trunks!

Honestly I think it would’ve been cool if instead of Goten getting a sword like Trunks he would have used the power pole. Would be a cool little call back plus make him a bit more different from Trunks.

Plus it would be dope if Goten also develops ways to make the Power Pole become way more powerful and durable while he grows in power and skill and it would also be cool if Goten becomes so skilled with Ki that he can also turn the Power Pole into basically the Dragon Ball version of a double bladed lightsaber.
With Toriyama's passing, this DB Online lore feels even more relevant now. This was the only time the author put serious pen to paper about events passed the End of Z. I know its just a game, but it still feels genuinely Toriyama and that sadly will never be replicated.
Yeah.... it kind of feels like anything new that comes out later will feel like the myriad of fan mangas, especially since several projects he did work on had different interpretations of what happened and retcons as well to fix things he wished he could go back and redo (like DBZ: Kakarot feeling like the true modernized telling of the story, explaining what happened to various characters that were forgotten about via side missions like Launch, who we see is hired to work as a chef, explaining her owning a food truck business (also apparently the Blonde version is the base version and the Blue haired is the alter ego, as the avatar emblems show the blonde version and the blonde version always speaks for herself). and adding Banya indirectly to add more strong female representation in the show, even if she only existed by mention and a simulated battle, he did design her directly. As well as retroactively having Android 21 work as Bulma's assistant since she was 16's mother and it was never explained what happened to her. Well now we know she discretely worked alongside Bulma at Capsule Corp. He even included what happened to Tau Pai Pai and Master Crane (though having Tau actually die from his own robot falling on him was kind of an embarassing send off... Crane actually admits why he broke away from Roshi's way of teaching in a way that kind of makes you feel sympathetic towards him). I don't think wishing back the old villains is meant to be canon, but it was funny ot see Freiza's father offer to adopt Gohan as his son and Vegeta offer to retrain the Ginyu force as he saw newly found potential in having them as genuine rivals in the future.
That final quote from Goku's voice actress reminds me of what the Narrator used to say: "This is the Journey that will never end, the struggle to push beyond all limits and redefine the meaning of power new and mightier foes will arise new adventures will begin, and Goku and his fellow warriors will be ready."
i knew DBO had depth, but this shit goes way deeper than i imagined when you started talking about dark korin tower and the dark versions of the characters. Damn
It makes sense. I think about how Naruto by contrast to Dragon ball focused a lot more on world building and society than the growth of the main character. Dragon ball really is especifically Goku's story and ends when he's no longer in the picture, while Naruto is more about Konoha and the world around him through the eyes of a boy who helps see things differently, thus Boroto is able to continue without Naruto needing to be the main focus as it still works on world building elements. Since Dragon ball never really cared about world building, Xenoverse and Online really had to go out of thier way to bridge everything introduced in the past together to justify why the saga would continue without Goku. It's kind of similar lo why GT made Goku a child again and ended with Goku telling his great great grandson not to give up and giving him the 4 star dragon ball as a memento to the start of his journey before returning to the afterlife.
What I love mostly about Dragon Ball Online is that this allowed the new generation, especially Goten, Trunks, and Pan, to thrive more and get more shine after Goku went to go train Uub. This honestly gives me tons of hope. I also love that Buu had his own family and kids too and it’s dope that Gohan actually wrote a book on ki. I really hope when Super does go beyond Goku and Uub leaving the World Martial Arts Tournament that they allow the new generation to thrive and get tons of shine and development in different storylines similar to DB online, but times 1,000,000. For Goten and Trunks, I really hope they train under Vegeta while Goku is training Uub, actually go to Universe 6 and train with, have dynamics with, and become best friends with the Universe 6 Saiyans along with Goten and Trunks continuing to have dynamics with and go on adventures with the Universe 6 Saiyans in different arcs as well, and I definitely would love and hope Goten and Trunks also join the Galactic Patrol later down the line and go on tons of missions throughout Universe 7 and the other Universes as Galactic Patrol agents while they train under characters like Vegeta, Meerus, Goku, and more. And I definitely hope Uub, Pan, Bulla, and Marron get truly fleshed out, get tons of shine, and get tons of development after Super goes beyond Goku and Uub leaving the World Martial Arts Tournament.
@@OMAR-vk9pi I do think Super will go beyond End Of Z and while it may be Goku’s story, that doesn’t mean other characters can’t get time to shine or can’t get time to shine after Super goes beyond End Of Z. Plus they’ve already set Pan up to have a much brighter future, they’re slowly setting up Uub up to also have a much brighter future too and Uub now has God Ki, and Goten and Trunks are getting involved again and will most likely be utilized way more from now on and get more character development after the current arc. Also I’m not saying Goku has to step down as the main protagonist, but I am saying I hope Goten, Uub, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, and Marron get way more shine and more development after the current arc and hope they all get tons of shine after Super goes beyond End Of Z along with Goten, Uub, Trunks, and Pan all getting chances of being the main protagonist for different storylines and arcs while Goku still gets to be the main protagonist of the whole series. I love how Dragon Ball Online's story is basically the result of Earth becoming a Cultivation World like in your usual Xianxia Chinese Manhua. I'd love a What If where this idea happens much earlier, like after Demon King Piccolo is sealed by Mutaito. Would you be willing to try it, SmugStick?
dragon ball has always been a world of cultivation, it's just that these elements of cultivation are so natural in the world of the work that the characters don't stop to explain them to us viewers.
@@gabiel402 I know, but in most Cultivation Worlds, the knowledge of Cultivation is common place, wehre as Dragon Ball was originally more about secret Martial arts societies more akin to grounded Wuxia as opposed to Xianxia with high powered god abilities.
I believe that these ideas are slowly being incorporated into the canon, see that in super Tien chin han has already established his own martial arts dojo, which may in the future become the new crane school. Gohan's research in super hero may already have something to do with his future book on the "science of Ki". Perhaps those ants were created in a laboratory by exposing them to the Ki of a super Sayajin, perhaps the species arose because of the Sayajins' struggles on earth and their Ki contaminated those ants, forcing them to evolve or something like that. Of course, some things will have to be modified or adapted, without altering the history of BOD (it's enough to say that the people of Earth exaggerated or inferiorized some things from the past, thus making sense of some things). for example, Mai can marry trunks and still have her descendant be a mirror of her former self, all it takes is for one of her disgruntled people to deviate from the path and that's it.
Tbh, I thought it was like an average, like the z fighters are all stronger than 99.99% of universe 7. Maybe the other universes are closer overall in power, maybe?

Well Dragon ball is specifically about Goku himself. Compare to Naruto which is about world building and One Piece which is about adventure, Dragon ball is more about "self growth" and is primarily told through Goku. Toriyama did try several times to pass on goku's legacy to the next generation, but ultimately changed his mind and doubled down on Goku because many kids who grew up with DRagon ball in the 90s were adults now, and rather than telling us a story about defining the future for our children, he focused on what we as adults could do to continue our legacy. E.g. just cause you're 46 doesn't mean you should stop training. Hence it gets into theology and expansive martial arts theory, something PHD Martial artists would be studying. rather than retreading the White to Black belt path.
After goku & vegeta go to train for 1 last time I hope they become kinda like mythology Nobody truly knowing if they existed or not and only beerus & whis knowing
Feels like they're heading that path anyway, goku doesn't want to be a God of Destruction and I don't think he'll be able to become an Angel, and Vegeta seems to be after the same ultimatum Goku is, training until they evolve beyond body and spirit. I just can't see Vegeta accepting the position as God of Destruction, clamped down while Goku continues to push his limits however he can, so I can see even wtih the context of Super in mind, it's still canon that they would choose to keep fighting until they are kind of immortalized as proving there are no limits to a strong enough spirit.
At start I thought this video was going to be a bunch of fan made theories, but then I realized how documented it was. I'm a huge dragon ball fan, like I know powerlevels by heart etc, but I really learned a lot knowing very little of dragon ball online. Thanks for that! Great job!
Yeah and a lot of them are EXTREMELY good. The one focusing on Pan and the future Z warriors (based on Z though, not Super or GT with GT being deliberate and Super forcing them to admit it's a retcon not counting Super since Super just came out while it was being written, BUT they did cover the part where Piloff, Mai and Shi turned into children and quickly wrote them out of the story). Also the stories of Beerus's origins are excellent. I particularly like the one where he's forced to destroy his own people because of some darkness that envelopes him and him becoming teary eyed as the woman he loved slowly became corrupted while she tried to tell him to protect the world at all costs. It explained why he was so cynical to this day and what he believes it means to be a Destroyer, and despite being written before the Granola arc, it tied perfectly with Beerus explaining to Vegeta why he had to destroy the Saiyan planet and why Vegeta shouldn't carry that blame on his shoulders. Though unlikely, it'd have been nice if Beerus thought of the girl at that moment, even if just for a panel. (there is another one but it doesn't focus as much on Beerus himself but rather a legendary Super saiyan from his time and Beerus' father mostly).
I know we’re talking canon so that’s just how it is. I like that goten and trunks created their own fighting style based on weapons. But I think it would have been more fitting if goten used a bo staff like the power pole instead of a sword like trunks. Just for the punch of uniqueness.
After rethreading DBO I really want to play it again, it's such a shame that the game was so limited. Similar to Dragon Quest X for his other work (though that one is worse with it's offline version being JP Exclusive as well). But this lore really probably is the best DB world building he's ever done.

i believe alot of this would happen in dragonball gt as well despite what goku jr's story says plus this would have to explain the extra saiyans given the time shenanigans of towa, mira and fu not to mention the other universes
Idea for a Dragon Ball game/A RPG Dragon Ball game: Make a open world Dragon Ball RPG game that’s a mix of DB Online and DBZ: Kakarot, but have the game’s story take place after 3, 2, or 1 year after Goku and Uub leave the World Martial Arts Tournament and have the main characters for the main story of the game be Goten, Uub, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, and Marron and you can choose to play as any them and choose to play as any of them during any part of the game and story. And the game should have game fighting mechanics that’s a mix of DBZ: Kakarot fighting Mechanics mixed with Budokai Tenkaichi 3 fighting mechanics and have very great progression system and upgrade system as well as having a morality system similar to the Kotor and Mass Effect series and the game also having consequences and changes to the story depending how you play. Also have the game allow you to explore throughout Universe 7 and also allow you to explore the whole multiverse as well as well as interact with, have dynamics with, and develop relationships with any character on any world in all the universes. And you can choose to train under different mentors and multiple mentors at the same time too and being able to train under Goku, Vegeta, Whis, Piccolo, Gohan, Tien, Roshi, Krillin, Yamcha, the Kais, and other characters from different planets and the other universes. And the game should actually have Goten, Uub, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, and Marron in the main story mode actually grow and show the experience they gain as you progress and play them through the main story mode. Also the game should let you choose to pick any occupation and job title as well like a Galactic Patrolman and Martial Arts Instructor for example
Was wondering if Dragon Ball Super was going to follow this future, but things such as the Pilaf gang trying to take over the world in Age 780 clearly didn't happen in Super. Guess Toriyama could still adapt some of these aspects into Super.
I think this will be one of the things changed in the canon, maybe pilaf, being currently a CC employee, will try one last attempt at world domination, maybe even brainwashing his cronies (that way we could have the new db couple (maitrunks) without mai's betrayal being voluntary).
Unfortunately, due to DB Online being cancelled and the right was given to Bandai Namco to make Heroes and Xenoverse, whatever happened to DB Online would not applied to DBS, which is Toriyama's current interest of main DB continuation.
DBO is actually canon for xenoverse and heros, so the most that will happen is that some of dbo's events will be minimally modified to fit the anime's current canon.
Now that Gokus Japanese voice actor is getting up there in age, being as of writing this 87, I think it'd be really cool if she got to pick the next successor to Gokus VA. Just like how goku picks his successor at the end of z
I'm liking the idea of Namekians becoming Dark Namekians due to the influence of King Piccolo's evil, which leads to them siding with mira and towa. Mira and Towa should be the main villains of Dragon Ball Super.
Personally, despite the fact that DBO has lots of fans and a massive expansive story. I really hope none of this comes to be , GT’s quaint ending with Goku Jr which implied the cycle of hope and adventure continuing on even after Goku left us is good enough.
@@Noneofwhat its both you have to know dragon ball has more then one canon continunity to it. its not just the manga but the og anime from 1986 which does lead into gt and the kai version as well which follows the manga continunity it's not just the manga since the creator of dragon ball said this years ago when dragon ball gt and the og anime existed before super was ever a thing
A lot of this should be carried over into cannon. A nex generations sendoff would be fire with the climax being the story of Goku and Vageta's last fight.
I'd love to see Goten wielding Gohan's previous desert survival sword given by Piccolo while Trunks wielding the sword given during the herudigarn incident and Gohan gets the repaired Z-sword while Goku's staff still exist and Bulma brings out her Bazooka and Chi-Chi gets her ki-amplifier ox-queen helmet while Videl gets similar amplified MMA power gloves

Got me thinking that it’s kind of depressing to know dragon ball might end someday. I know it probably won’t but it won’t always be the same as how it is currently.
As one of the only 14 unironic GT fans, I always took the end of GT as Goku being granted some sort of ascension to godhood or whatever level of being Shenron is.
The about all this is that even though these are great ideas, these were made before Dragon Ball Super was a thing meaning that anything and/or everything could change. Regardless I hope some of these ideas do come true, because right now the future of Dragon ball is still up in the air.
People should forget about the lame Goten and Trunks Superhero saga manga and look towards the past. I think that they need to create a new series called Dragon Ball Z: The Lost Years or Peaceful Future. It takes place during the 7 years between the Cell and Majin Buu sagas and could give us some long-awaited answers such as. When did Goku reach SS2 and SS3 in Other World? When did Gohan give up fighting? When did Kid Trunks first reach Super Saiyan? When did Krillin and Android 18 get married? What happened to Android 17 after he was brought back to life? What happened to Future Trunks during the threat of Majin Buu in his timeline?

My only issue with DBO timeline of events is one thing. Where the heck is Ubb? Yeah he has a descendant and appeared in Nekomajin, but nothing about him is mentioned afterward in the DBO timeline. You would think that Goku's personal student and successor would have major exploits, be a major help during Frieza Force invansion, and other key moments. Heck he does not even get a Time Patroler Counterpart in Xenoverse/Heroes! There is like nothing they really do with him.

I know this is a year late, but thank you for this video, I've been preaching that these ideas should be into the main cannon since i've heard them years ago and it seems many people agree. Now if only dragon ball super can get passed the end of z and we'd be cooking, these concepts are so much fun to explore. I want to see goten and trunks develop this sword school, what would be awesome is if Trunks fought like a real swordsman and Goten fought like Goku black. A cool way to separate them while also keeping them together. The fact that Bulma can do all this shit but doesn't work to extend human life it's fuqin crazy. I guess a lot of Mangaka still don't know that human life extension is actually one of the most grounded science fiction topics in fact it's not even fiction anymore

I think in the video schmug says that grand kai asks then they to seal up the dragon balls at some point anyway. But the Gods cant say anything about Human Tech extending Human Life. Or life in general. With Capsule level Tech and Shrinking being their main breakthrough, she logically could wip up some Nano or even Pico or Themtotech to go to the Z Squad and offer to clear out cellular junk, to fix oxidative stress, to fix broken DNA and to repair their Telomere. They could raise Earth up and oversee training Personally for the next 1000 years but nah. That makes too much logical sense for the. Enemies would have no chance

That is only ever because Toriyama comes from an older generation of Sci Fi fans "Where aliens were obviously better than us and so obviously lived longer than us" based on us last century and he hasn't updated his knowledge the cutting edge of todayAnd nobody can be truly immortal so I hate when people say that life extension goes against religion, it doesn't. God would not care if you spent a million years and his universe and went to him. A million, a billion, a Google plex is nothing in the face of eternity. God does not give a fuq if we extend the human life so there is no more issue in the Manga but people don't think that far ahead they simply say oh God wouldn't like that because that's what I think without thinking logically about it.
So this Old Timeline was Dragon Ball's Version of Star Wars Legends Timeline (AKA The Original Timeline) before it was all Axed and taken over by Disney's own Canon, But when DBS happens of course everything is bound to change, which means none of this is Canon anymore, talk about having a lot in Common.

Dragon Ball Online is a GOLDMINE of lore and it was written by the man himself so it's as close to canon as it gets.

dragon ball has always been a world of cultivation, it's just that these elements of cultivation are so natural in the world of the work that the characters don't stop to explain them to us viewers.
@@gabiel402 I know, but in most Cultivation Worlds, the knowledge of Cultivation is common place, wehre as Dragon Ball was originally more about secret Martial arts societies more akin to grounded Wuxia as opposed to Xianxia with high powered god abilities.
I'd like to see a lot of these ideas incorporated into canon, especially Gohan's book and Ki usage becoming more widespread.
I believe that these ideas are slowly being incorporated into the canon, see that in super Tien chin han has already established his own martial arts dojo, which may in the future become the new crane school. Gohan's research in super hero may already have something to do with his future book on the "science of Ki". Perhaps those ants were created in a laboratory by exposing them to the Ki of a super Sayajin, perhaps the species arose because of the Sayajins' struggles on earth and their Ki contaminated those ants, forcing them to evolve or something like that. Of course, some things will have to be modified or adapted, without altering the history of BOD (it's enough to say that the people of Earth exaggerated or inferiorized some things from the past, thus making sense of some things).
for example, Mai can marry trunks and still have her descendant be a mirror of her former self, all it takes is for one of her disgruntled people to deviate from the path and that's it.
Knowing where Beerus is in this timeline of U7, probably sleeping off again.
This and the End of Z can still be canon, they might need to change a few things but it can still work

I'm grateful that Dragon Ball Online set their focus on other characters besides Goku and Vegeta.
Well Dragon ball is specifically about Goku himself. Compare to Naruto which is about world building and One Piece which is about adventure, Dragon ball is more about "self growth" and is primarily told through Goku. Toriyama did try several times to pass on goku's legacy to the next generation, but ultimately changed his mind and doubled down on Goku because many kids who grew up with DRagon ball in the 90s were adults now, and rather than telling us a story about defining the future for our children, he focused on what we as adults could do to continue our legacy. E.g. just cause you're 46 doesn't mean you should stop training. Hence it gets into theology and expansive martial arts theory, something PHD Martial artists would be studying. rather than retreading the White to Black belt path.
After goku & vegeta go to train for 1 last time I hope they become kinda like mythology

Feels like they're heading that path anyway, goku doesn't want to be a God of Destruction and I don't think he'll be able to become an Angel, and Vegeta seems to be after the same ultimatum Goku is, training until they evolve beyond body and spirit. I just can't see Vegeta accepting the position as God of Destruction, clamped down while Goku continues to push his limits however he can, so I can see even wtih the context of Super in mind, it's still canon that they would choose to keep fighting until they are kind of immortalized as proving there are no limits to a strong enough spirit.

Yeah and a lot of them are EXTREMELY good. The one focusing on Pan and the future Z warriors (based on Z though, not Super or GT with GT being deliberate and Super forcing them to admit it's a retcon not counting Super since Super just came out while it was being written, BUT they did cover the part where Piloff, Mai and Shi turned into children and quickly wrote them out of the story).
Also the stories of Beerus's origins are excellent. I particularly like the one where he's forced to destroy his own people because of some darkness that envelopes him and him becoming teary eyed as the woman he loved slowly became corrupted while she tried to tell him to protect the world at all costs. It explained why he was so cynical to this day and what he believes it means to be a Destroyer, and despite being written before the Granola arc, it tied perfectly with Beerus explaining to Vegeta why he had to destroy the Saiyan planet and why Vegeta shouldn't carry that blame on his shoulders. Though unlikely, it'd have been nice if Beerus thought of the girl at that moment, even if just for a panel. (there is another one but it doesn't focus as much on Beerus himself but rather a legendary Super saiyan from his time and Beerus' father mostly).

After rethreading DBO I really want to play it again, it's such a shame that the game was so limited. Similar to Dragon Quest X for his other work (though that one is worse with it's offline version being JP Exclusive as well). But this lore really probably is the best DB world building he's ever done.

Idea for a Dragon Ball game/A RPG Dragon Ball game: Make a open world Dragon Ball RPG game that’s a mix of DB Online and DBZ: Kakarot, but have the game’s story take place after 3, 2, or 1 year after Goku and Uub leave the World Martial Arts Tournament and have the main characters for the main story of the game be Goten, Uub, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, and Marron and you can choose to play as any them and choose to play as any of them during any part of the game and story.
And the game should have game fighting mechanics that’s a mix of DBZ: Kakarot fighting Mechanics mixed with Budokai Tenkaichi 3 fighting mechanics and have very great progression system and upgrade system as well as having a morality system similar to the Kotor and Mass Effect series and the game also having consequences and changes to the story depending how you play. Also have the game allow you to explore throughout Universe 7 and also allow you to explore the whole multiverse as well as well as interact with, have dynamics with, and develop relationships with any character on any world in all the universes. And you can choose to train under different mentors and multiple mentors at the same time too and being able to train under Goku, Vegeta, Whis, Piccolo, Gohan, Tien, Roshi, Krillin, Yamcha, the Kais, and other characters from different planets and the other universes. And the game should actually have Goten, Uub, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, and Marron in the main story mode actually grow and show the experience they gain as you progress and play them through the main story mode. Also the game should let you choose to pick any occupation and job title as well like a Galactic Patrolman and Martial Arts Instructor for example

Was wondering if Dragon Ball Super was going to follow this future, but things such as the Pilaf gang trying to take over the world in Age 780 clearly didn't happen in Super. Guess Toriyama could still adapt some of these aspects into Super.
I think this will be one of the things changed in the canon, maybe pilaf, being currently a CC employee, will try one last attempt at world domination, maybe even brainwashing his cronies (that way we could have the new db couple (maitrunks) without mai's betrayal being voluntary).

Unfortunately, due to DB Online being cancelled and the right was given to Bandai Namco to make Heroes and Xenoverse, whatever happened to DB Online would not applied to DBS, which is Toriyama's current interest of main DB continuation.
DBO is actually canon for xenoverse and heros, so the most that will happen is that some of dbo's events will be minimally modified to fit the anime's current canon.
Now that Gokus Japanese voice actor is getting up there in age, being as of writing this 87, I think it'd be really cool if she got to pick the next successor to Gokus VA. Just like how goku picks his successor at the end of z

Personally, despite the fact that DBO has lots of fans and a massive expansive story. I really hope none of this comes to be , GT’s quaint ending with Goku Jr which implied the cycle of hope and adventure continuing on even after Goku left us is good enough.

Got me thinking that it’s kind of depressing to know dragon ball might end someday. I know it probably won’t but it won’t always be the same as how it is currently.
As one of the only 14 unironic GT fans, I always took the end of GT as Goku being granted some sort of ascension to godhood or whatever level of being Shenron is.

The about all this is that even though these are great ideas, these were made before Dragon Ball Super was a thing meaning that anything and/or everything could change. Regardless I hope some of these ideas do come true, because right now the future of Dragon ball is still up in the air.
People should forget about the lame Goten and Trunks Superhero saga manga and look towards the past. I think that they need to create a new series called Dragon Ball Z: The Lost Years or Peaceful Future. It takes place during the 7 years between the Cell and Majin Buu sagas and could give us some long-awaited answers such as. When did Goku reach SS2 and SS3 in Other World? When did Gohan give up fighting? When did Kid Trunks first reach Super Saiyan? When did Krillin and Android 18 get married? What happened to Android 17 after he was brought back to life? What happened to Future Trunks during the threat of Majin Buu in his timeline?

My only issue with DBO timeline of events is one thing. Where the heck is Ubb? Yeah he has a descendant and appeared in Nekomajin, but nothing about him is mentioned afterward in the DBO timeline. You would think that Goku's personal student and successor would have major exploits, be a major help during Frieza Force invansion, and other key moments. Heck he does not even get a Time Patroler Counterpart in Xenoverse/Heroes! There is like nothing they really do with him.

I know this is a year late, but thank you for this video, I've been preaching that these ideas should be into the main cannon since i've heard them years ago and it seems many people agree. Now if only dragon ball super can get passed the end of z and we'd be cooking, these concepts are so much fun to explore. I want to see goten and trunks develop this sword school, what would be awesome is if Trunks fought like a real swordsman and Goten fought like Goku black. A cool way to separate them while also keeping them together.
