- Druid Solos Efreeti Lord Djarn, Nagafen's Lair, Project 1999 EverQuest. Blue server. This would have been easier if I had charmed a bat, but it would have been a time-consuming pain to drag one up to Djarn. I will do that next time, however, because this fight was a nail-biter. It came down to whether or not Djarn's guards would break root. Pheidippedes recently won Coldain Ring 8; the extra damage-shield helped.
Gate is absolutely fair play.
Druid like: "y'know touching me has consequences, right?"
Honestly didn’t realize Druids could pull this off. Nicely done!
Also, that AOE root is crazy. Lasted the whole fight!
Thank you. Yeah I love the druid AoE root. I use it a lot.
Didn't cast Winged Death at all and waited forever to use the Drones of Doom clicky. Umm??
Ring drop, nice! Interesting strat just using DS for dps, pretty cool
His nukes are heavy, but he rarely casts them if you're at melee range.
You need a Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring.
Crazy battle!
how are you not using keyboard instead of mouse clicking everything
If you have any insta clicky you can reset your gem timers using it after cast to help cast faster.
Gnome crafted telescope will do the trick.
I'd use it on my shaman for quicker cannibalization.
Set up a macro to do it all with one hotkey, but the telescope has to be in one main inventory slot instead of a bag.
Impressive! Good work. What's the ring giving you extra DS damage? Do you ever try furyb of air to interrupt his casts? Or does his magic resist make that not worth while?
Thank you. Yeah Ring 8 ads eight damage that stacks with most other damage shields. Fury of Air would be helpful if you try the root-rot and hide around the corner strategy. It would be worth experimenting. I just chose the melee method because Djarn's nuke attempts vastly decrease.
Close one! Well done
Thank you
"Ha ha... UNGH!"
@@sammy-ix3eh Ha ha Ha ha Ha ha huhhhhh...
Forgot he cast Rend, that can make a good day bad real quick.
I was mostly concerned about Ice Comet, but yeah Rend sucks too. I didn't have great resist gear at that time.
Didnt know druids face tank. Can you not root rot this guy?
Not really because he breaks root often.
@@everquestsolo damn bruh
Could a ranger or paladin solo it like this? Face tanking or not enough resources?
I doubt it, but I don't play a geared level 60 ranger or paladin. It would be cool if you prove me wrong.
Paladins self-heal pretty good, but their DPS is terrible. Rangers have pretty good DPS, but are glass cannons with poor healing abilities.
haha haha
kilva's potion
Not many shamans make those potions for sale. I used to sell all kinds of pots back when I played on p99, and it mostly all people wanted were all sow pots, a few gate pots for guild raid calls, and the 300hp insta heal that slowly leaks over time (again, good for raids). At least those were the ones worth making since it was hard to make a profit on anything else.
I do not use consumables for any of the solo videos.
@doinghighkicksonlyin1368 on blue at least, all of those potions are regularly available in tunnel. the late-stage life of p99 means more people have more money for that sort of thing
@@everquestsolo weird rule, but you do you. paying 30pp for a few thousand extra damage seems worth it to me over the long run. i use them on many toons. it's not really the same as dumping thousands on worts/reaper. 1 kilvas will last quite a while and they recharge easily enough
@@susugam3004Nothing wrong with using DS pots. If you use them on a solo kill, it counts. But it's a lot cooler to get the kill without.
Roots never last this long on Live.
So many subtle differences between p99 and live, its not even same game.
I don't remember the root duration on live. On P99, it varies depending on the zone, level and mob. Root generally holds well in old world zones, but there are exceptions.
@@everquestsolo I'm always amazed at how much harder it looks to solo on p99, but also amazed at how long some of the roots and charms last.
GIMPLORD!
Pick up your shaman and leave!
Nice work
Thank you
Can a paladin solo the efreeti camp? If yes, how well geared would they need to be to do it?
Same question for a necro, too.
I don't have a level 60 paladin or necromancer, so I'm not 100% sure. I doubt a paladin could do it, but it would be cool if you prove me wrong.
No matter how long I've played this game, I always hate soloing in Sol B/Naggy's Lair. I always get stressed out at some key moment, get turned around and lose my way. Then before I know it I'm swimming in lava with three imps and a spider on me.
Rough zone for sure
