  • Hearing loss is the most common after-effect of meningitis. Difficulties can range from mild hearing loss through to profound deafness in one or both ears. Julie suffered hearing loss as a result of meningitis. She now lives with a cochlear implant.

I'm 36 and caught meningitis when I was 28. It's a humbling experience. Lost hearing in both ears and now using cochlear implants. God is good 🙏

An important video about hearing loss but also about the support people need after experiencing meningitis.

I'm deaf. I had meningitis. When I was 9months old. I nearly died in hospital. I stayed there for 3 weeks. I have 2 cochlear implants to help me hear. I do sign language BSL and ASL.
