Though that's not how Micheal dies, the books have a lot of stories that are sad and graphic, though not a backstory for some, It still leads to the story. The "Tales of the Pizzaplex" are good examples, and so far I've pieced together a backstory for William because of "Bunnycall" and balloon boy adventurers + Therapy sessions (SB stuff), also why he learns all about the kids and becomes friends with them before he experiments on them.
