Satan's Triangle (1975) scared the crap out of us when we were kids, and I kinda got into triangle stuff for a while when I was young. As I got older, I became pretty skeptical. As you say, the stats don't support the idea that the area is any more dangerous than any other area of the globe, and some of the disappearances didn't even occur in the area (or even the same ocean). Props for presenting the folklore and the debunking.

'ere there be spoilers. ☠️ To keep the stories fresh, tell them differently... A 5 plane training flight over the Florida Keys disappeared without a clue. It was still in contact with base radio for a long time. But then was never heard from again. A ship sailed from port in Texas. Somewhere it disappeared, lost at sea , with no explanation. New aircraft flying over India disappeared from the sky. At the same time, the same model planes disappeared without a trace on the other side of the World. Adrift in the open sea, a lifeboat was spotted after a violent storm. It was unmanned and adrift, no clue where it had come from. Or why it was empty despite being in stout condition otherwise. =================== And now, the rest of the story ..., 1945 The training flight was east of Florida over the Bahamas, but the flight commander thought they were over the Florida Keys, west of Florida. The last known position of the SS Marine Sulphur Queen was 25°45′N 86°00′W, roughly 200 miles west of the Florida Keys, on February 4, 1963. The ship was in rough seas with 16 foot waves and winds of 25-46 knots during a winter storm. The two airliners that were lost were early models with square windows along the fuselage. The corners caused fatigue cracks around them which lead to catastrophic metal failure. About the same time similar models in India crashed due to metal fatigue at the window corners. The planes were recalled, the windows were swapped to rounded corners and the problem went away. This same window design is still used on passenger aircraft. The Marie Celeste, carrying a cargo including casks of alcohol was on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, nowhere near the Bermuda Triangle. Probable cause of missing crew: one or more of the alcohol casks leaked, filling below decks with volatile fumes. The crew took to the lifeboat, tethered to the ship while the fumes escaped the closed lower decks, leaving the air no longer explosive. But by then the lifeboat had slipped its tether and could not catch back up with the ship. Since the ship was fully rigged with sail, the current and trade winds took it along towards Europe.
