    I either get meat or vegetables out of my garden. I feel like a winner either way.😂

    Pour a 5 gallon bucket of water on your ground rods every week. Will help a lot especially with your sandy soils.

      Does this help compact?

    • @gregorymatre
      @gregorymatre 5 місяців тому +2

      Electricity follows water. If the sand is dry and compacting dry sand won't help. Water

      You can also alternate the lines, hot-ground-hot-ground-hot. That way touching any two adjacent lines completes the circuit no matter how much moisture is in the soil.

    Put some peanut butter on the wire, it will teach the deer and provide you with entertainment when the deer lick it. LOL HAHAHAHA.

    Have yourself and the boys start marking your tree's around the parameter, maybe walk the dogs around also. Deer's sense of smell is mind blowing, theyre very scent oriented.
    That being said fences are more a suggestion than a proofing. Ive seen several deer with half a mind and enough room for like 4 trots to clear a 10ft fence.
    Theres been a bunch of times ive seen them clearing the top of 8ish foot corn stalks too.
    As you said, they are mighty fine eatin, and they always seen scarce when you're looking for them rofl.

      Exactly , mark those tree's and you won't see a deer .

    I was wondering how you would deal with the deer jumping over. I saw a few white tails going over an 8 ft fence in southern Wisconsin when I was a kid. They flew over that thing like a fat kid after chocolate cake.

    Also deer have a huge problem with navigating 3d obstacles. A single 4 foot high wire 3 feet out in front of the rest of the fence will make it so they never try to jump it.

  • @p35flash97
    @p35flash97 Місяць тому

    Get a little aluminum foil and wrap it around one of the wires. Put peanut butter on it. Obviously, put the peanut butter on it before you wrap it around the wire. Those deer won't go close to that fence once they get hit with the electricity they get from licking that peanut butter.

  • @cliftonharrison5305
    @cliftonharrison5305 5 місяців тому

    I used Aluminum foil strips to flutter. Animals will find the shock on their nose rather than their body as they go through your fence.
    Watering the ground rods is really important. I had a water tank close to a hot wire that would allow a ground connection when a mare would drink standing ob damp dirt. Even my fish jumped out of the rubber tank.

    Your from n.c. you should know 8' even 10' deer can jump with a couple trots before. They are very hard to keep out. Good luck.
