Dehradun kon sa pahad ho gayaa bhai, tum pahadi they ye bolo... I am pahadi, growing apples. And drinking water from glaciers... Eating fresh veggies from my garden... Drinking kacchi made by my gorkha aka dutiyal.. some good hash grown and harvested by my dear Gurkha... Think twice before calling yourself pahadi...

People can buy burans k phool ka juice,mix it with soda or any transparent drink,you will love it. Mere ghar mein roj madue k roti banti hai. Bachpan mein ghee cheeni mein eja deti thi. Dubuk,gahat,bhatand every Uttarakhand ki daal every Saturday and Sunday or holidays. Hara namak ghar wala tastes terrific. Kumaon mein jhoi,ye chatpati hoti hai. Jhungor ki kheer is the best. No matter where you go never ever forget your culture and roots.

Being a pahadi I can relate to each and everything. Buransh is the state flower of Uttarakhand grows in high altitude area . Jhangora is a millet which have very high nutritional value and less carbs . Aalu ke gutke with jakhya & Jholi bhaat 💕💕. Gehet ki daal has some medicinal value also used to treat kidney stone if soaked overnight and in morning have that water . Everything was just awesome . Anushka & her family 💕💕
I'm from uttarakhand and i did my schooling from delhi. When i was in school my mum packed *ALOO KE GUTKE* for me in the tiffin and we all pahadis use that term only but others were like Oh it's aloo ki sbzi. When i told my friends the specific name they all laughed out loud. *Not in a wrong way* Honestly, they loved the name a lot❤ it's just the funny & cute moment for them after listening the term GUTKE. And since that day they all started using the term *Aloo ke gutke* ❤

One of the most incredible meals I've ever had was in Jot, where we stopped for lunch on our way to Khajjiar. It was also the simplest - saag, dal, roti, and masala curd (don't remember the local name for it) in this little dhaba. The people there were so hospitable and warm towards us. My family and I still talk about that meal, those lovely people, and the beautiful view of the mountains to the side. Himachal and paharis will always have a very special place in my heart. Food unites like nothing can. 🤎

That Daal is called Horse gram and in telegu I think it's called Ulvucharu .. widely used in Andhra cuisine it's very healthy and recommended for kidney stones patients.
