Hey, I am planning to apply for the coming session 2021 for masters in Economics. I don't have bachelors in economics but rather in Management, Finance and Banking. However I am passionate about economics and so I worked in economic research in a small level for about 3 years, doing small scale market and economic and behavior research projects, Do you think I qualify to apply for the masters economic program in HEC Lausanne? I am a bit scared about the minimum knowledge requirement it has, specially with econometrics and maths (Though I have studied maths, stats; just not maths for economists) Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks.
Great! Well, your background of research is great and shows your interest. You identified well the potential difficulty. Yes, the master is super intense in math mainly the first semester. But, first you can prepare and check books. Second, just prepare yourself and your schedule in such a way that you'll be ready to work super hard the first semester. They will give you all the tool you'll need but it will go fast, so if you take the time, you'll have all the material given. Last but not least, never be discouraged by such a parameter in a project. I've been tought so many time in life that I could not do things that I ended up doing perfectly well. Do you have contacts within the master already? Maybe refreshing your knowledge at least in econometrics with the right book would be useful (and maybe math). Ask if you know someone, if not ask me on LinkedIn chat and I'll check for the books required. Cheers! All the best
@@the_causal_mindset Thank you for the advice. Okay, I will send you a message by tomorrow. No I don't know someone within the masters, I'm doing my initial research inorder to choose the university to apply this session. Thank you for replying.
Thank you 🙏
With great pleasure
