Wonderful video. My 21 month old is still breastfed, eats real food and has never been left to cry it out. She was an early talker and everyone is amazed at how clever and alert she is. I have actually been criticised by some for not allowing her junk food but I figure she has all her years ahead to eat that if she wants but I will give her the best start whilst I can at this age, and so far it’s paying off. It’s a short time of dedication in the grand scheme of things and it’s so worth it.
Sravani Kanchanapally23 hi I hope your little one is doing well, have tried different sceneries like outdoor things and let them meet new people and smiling faces. At that age they get bored very fast
Thank you for having him. I am now following his channel. He just verified all the things I have been doing for my son and it just made my heart so happy. Thank you Dr.Sears for sharing this very critical message.

This is so true, thanks for sharing. My son is three eats everything, and loves veggies and fruits. The first foods I gave him at six months was AVOCADOS, sweet potatoes bananas other steam veggies and everything else slowly. I never gave him cereal or processed food, from a can or gerbers. NO processed juice, I still don’t buy it, only special occasions like parties or when we travel and use it as a treat for good behavior. In my humble opinion I do suggest to make your own fresh juice and foods besides it is cheaper. For babies mashed or blend real foods and you’ll thank yourself later. Once they’re older chopping and preparing foods may require a little work and extra time but is totally worth it. I work full time, do ministry and learned to manage time so I can continue to prepare foods for my family everyday, I think we can all do it. Exposing my son to real food as a baby I always thought that was the reason why he loves to eat but now that I watch this video truly confirms my suspicion. One more thing I noticed is that he is only been sick with minor colds three times since birth (Thank God). So if you’re a new mommy, follow the advice from this video and built a healthy eater. Kiss them, hug them tight non stop and take them outside to explore. Blessings 👍🏼
This is the most funny video I've ever watched. It's all a matter of using your brain. I had 5 beautiful healthy, to this day. They are all grown now, and of course super healthy. I always started them out on cereal, just a bit. It was, as all there other foods were, all natural! They loved there fruit, veggies, everything they were given growing up. One thing babies and kids don't ever need are ant type of vitamins. My baby doc would always tell me they are all super healthy. My husband and I don't even eat processed food of any kind. As far as kids getting sick, they need to get cols etc. so they can fight off even more serious bad things going around out there. We had such a good laugh watching this. My parents are doctors as well. All it takes to feed your child is common sense, come on now. Go writs more books doc. Wow! crazy
He is talking about the stuff we traditionally fed babies. Additionally we give coconut milk in food and pumpkin and stuff too. Lot of crushed greens. Again its back to basics after going a big posh round.
Thank you Dr.Sears for sharing your knowledge with us. The word compassionate was the key in this video. We as parents are not teaching our kids the importance of being compassionate. This is why we have so many wrong decisions being made by people this days . Thank you again Dr.Sears God bless you and family.
Dr Sears is so fantastic and warm and knowledgable. I love his style of imparting his benefits of knowledge and experience. You get the sense that he really does care and that to me means so much. I wish all Doctors were like that. Thanks so much for interviewing him. I didn’t even realise I was doing attachment parenting until just now. I was just following my instincts. Sometimes little doubts start to creep in when you are surrounded by people who want to comment about the madness of ‘still’ breastfeeding my 13 month old, or say I’m spoiling my baby when I respond to my baby’s cries, co-sleep and refuse to let him cry it out! I learnt so so much from this segment and am definitely going to continue raising my baby the attachment parenting way. Who knew the brain was so fatty.!? Avocado and salmon are finding their way onto our plates tomorrow night :)
This is so true! So many people are weirded out by breastfeeding I get comments from my own family sometimes about why I’m still breastfeeding my 10 month old. I just wish we’d encourage one another and respect how we raise our babies.
i am exactly the same i was freaking out if iam spoiling my baby by co sleep breastfeed and respond to cry and others in thier room forcing not to have milk at night iam not saying there is right or wrong but at least that iam not doing something wrong or behind my baby is 6 so when she is 7 months i will surely start with Salmon. xx
Hi Tee Smith...what is your take on breastfeeding...I also have a 13 month old who screams if I offer him water instead of milk in the night. How long we shall breastfeed our baby. And won't he develop this as habit .. How will I wean him off. ? Plz help. I stay very worried and it makes me very stressed.
Thank the Dr for making these videos and for stating how every day activities with food,etc..are looked over so easily and to hear someone explain the right amount and the right foods and proper vitamins they need. As well as how to overcome a picky eater and really get word out

Thank you so much Dr Sears for sharing this information with us I have followed your advice and my baby has only gotten a small cold and he is 15 months now.
I’m still breast feeding at 19 months and mines a picky eater so it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. She’s brilliant so it must be true lol. If I have another I’ll do the avocado and salmon and vegetable trick.
Carissa Ingratta you are so lucky you still have good breastmilk supply.my lo is 6mths old and my breastmilk supply is running low.do you have tips on how you oncrease your breastmilk supply.thku🙂

Love you and your videos. God could not be there for everyone and so he made people like you. Thank you very much.
First food is cooked egg yolks and organic liver. Best book on nutrition is sally Fallon nourishing traditions. Fruits and veggies are devoid of natural fats and deep nutrition. Animal products are priority until 2-3 years old. Kids normally don’t like veggies since they are difficult to digest.

I am just reading hold on to your kids by gabbor matte and it also talks about child parent attachment. Very good! I am so depressed listening to child weaning and importance of good foods because I struggled for three years to get my breastfed son to even try foods. He wouldn’t accept anything in his mouth. I think it had to do with giving him breast milk from a medicine spoon because the milk couldn’t come out for a long time so had to express and give little by little. Because also he didn’t accept bottle at all. It caused me so much pain and trauma let alone how much to him. When i expressed it was always on 10 - 20 ml then became 30- 50 ml. It was never enough at one time. So he was one of those babies who woke and drank every hour. I felt like he never slept and was always hungry. After taking supplements and he started drinking from me again it became better and neither of us wanted to stop breastfeeding. I tried so hard to give him all kids of foods. Since 6 months old but he refused anything on a spoon. I thought this would never end. Up to the age of two mealtimes had me in a panic and sometimes tears or anger. It almost never ended with him eating buy instead spitting, throwing, gagging, and crying. Then i stopped breastfeeding due to mastitis and infection and he saw me in pain and didn’t even ask to drink after the third day. And just before the age of 3 he started eating by himself. I felt so relieved but these will be regrets i will always carry with me.
Wow! This was such a great interview! I'm a new mom and believe in all things natural! My baby girl is 4 months old, and still breastfeeding exclusively, but this helped give me great ideas for when it's time to introduce solids:) Thank you for this!

This video was wonderful. My babies are both grown now but I guess it’s never to late to learn new things for many reasons. Hint hint...hopefully a grand baby one day. I’d like to ask a question. Being an adult (46 years) female, can you give me a few examples of a good supplement to take for heart, brain, eyesight, etc. And what is a probiotic for? I’m trying to lose the weight I’ve gained over the past year. So I don’t want to lack any vitamins trying to diet. Thanks.
Hello dr my son 18 month old.he have infentilspams he was 4 month old . Now he stop medicine .he was very happy boy he start walking but he not stand on . Dr can you tell this age how can understand me my son brain working properly.
Yes that Helpers' high just reached me as I felt your sincerity in this video. thank you as I will be showing this to my husband as soon as he gets home. We want our baby to be as healthy as possible. Gerson Healthy haha
Dr. Bill, I see a god in you. So wonderful explanation. if life permits i would love to take you to my home and give you all he caring and everything that one would give to their Parents. My deepest regards and love to you.. Thanks to you for being such a holy soul on mother earth...Thanks Doc.
My daughter is 13 month older. But she not eating by herself and if I feed her; she is vomiting all. And still she don't know how to swallow the food. So still I feed her all Vegas and fruit even the lunch as puree. I just grain all food and giving. I want to know that is this bad for her? How can I train her to eat chunks.and she is only 8kg seeing smaller than other babies.how much food I have to offer her. And how many times per day! Please let me to know. It'll be more helpful
I breastfed my daughter & she’s really smart .. and I was so stressed with my second baby I didn’t breastfeed him and he’s now 18 months and still doesn’t talk. But he eats almost everything I give him, he loves fruits and salmon and all the good stuff unlike my daughter who doesn’t eat fruit or vegetables. I regret not breastfeeding my son 😭
becareful not to pit expectations on your children. I breastfed my first son till 9months, and he was talking in short sentences by 14m. by two years he was speaking like a 5year old. my second son breast fed till he was a little over 13m and he only started communicating clearly, after 3years old. my 3rd son only breast fed till 4months - and he is the smartest of all 3 of them.
basically - accept that they are individuals, and certain children develop certain things at different stages - and that does not mean that they are slow or behind in any way... I knew a girl that never said a single word and she was three. her mother sent her for therapy and thought she was retarded.. by 6years old, she was reading John Grisham and Steven King. i didn't approve o why she was reading, BUT she was developing her vocabulary, but not her communication. her communication is fantastic, now. eloquent little girl. so, don't think there is something wrong - just relax and let him show you what his interests are
BrianaXO I didn’t bf my eldest and didn’t eat anything except formula milk for the first 2yrs yet she reached all her milestones ahead of her peers, I bf my second a little more than the first and although she doesn’t fall sick as much as my first did, she reached her milestones later and at 23months isn’t talking except making sounds and the occasional mama baba no. We’ve started consulting the doctor now and hope to help her learn to talk soon! So in short I’m glad NvZ shared her experience about how all children are different, it makes me a lot less worried now.
Hi my son is 5month old. He is on totally breastfeed. After 6month should i start with avocado? And how much quantity? And should i have to added anything in that? He was born premature so i have worried about his brain development. Please advise me. Thank you

I hate when ppl say their kid won’t eat fruits/ veggys. Mine only get that or they don’t eat! They learn to like it
So true! You need to "train" their tastebuds! Its always so frustrating to see those "kid" menus that further promote such unhealthy foods for babies!

Same techniques .... through foods you eat, specific exercises, etc.
Just curious as an ESL parent, I haven't heard anyone pronouncing compassion as this doctor does(compatience). Is that normal?

I knew a girl that never said a single word and she was three. her mother sent her for therapy and thought she was retarded.. by 6years old, she was reading John Grisham and Steven King. i didn't approve o why she was reading, BUT she was developing her vocabulary, but not her communication.
her communication is fantastic, now. eloquent little girl.
so, don't think there is something wrong - just relax and let him show you what his interests are
NvZ 😭 omg thank you for telling me this... I pray and have faith he will eventually talk later . He will soon start his speech classes
When americans hear how important vegetables are for babies: "Oh but there's lettuce in the hamburgers so we're fine".
Sad but true.
Hi my son is 5month old. He is on totally breastfeed. After 6month should i start with avocado? And how much quantity? And should i have to added anything in that? He was born premature so i have worried about his brain development. Please advise me.
