Wow Is so amazing how different cultures are related some how, I'm from El Salvador and we love platains and kasaba(yuca root) I never try African food before and I think is time, I love trying different type a of food. Thank you for this video
Great stuff! U can also blend the chopped plantain & cassava raw, then cook it like banku style on fire whilst it thickens. Moulding the fufu smoothly can also be done by tipping the hot fufu onto a water sprinkled clingfilm & moulding it to your desired shape- round or oblong!
@@ernestinaagyei4361 Hi! I never cooked fufu, I watched different recipes and I think yours is the best cause it's more simple to make it with already cooked ingredients instead of cooking them in the pot and try to get rid of lumps. Is the result the same? Maybe instead of putting them in the blender I can smash with that potato utensil into a bowl, so I don't have to put it out the blender difficultly. What do you think about it?
Looks so nice and appetising in the early 90s our mothers pounded cassava in that shape served with either mud fish or catfish got directly from rivernile, but today it is difficult to find a family still preparing cassava in that style because of the western style of preparing food especially the fast foods, thanks and lots of love from the banana republic of UGANDA 🌶️ 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
I’m eating this now with some egg stew but I blend the cassava and plantain together before I cook them. My husband is from Nigeria and he’s gotten me hooked on African food ❤❤. So much for that super strict diet and exercise routine I was on lol 😂.
This is the authentic version Fufuo/fufu from Ghana 🇬🇭 are eaten with only liquid soups. Exactly!!! I’m seeing Nigerians all over the comments talking about how this is wrong, how she’s using too much water; too soft; and she shouldn’t use her hands. This is the original Ghana fufu. Nigerians eat pounded yam, last time I checked!!!! 😑
I’m from Trinidad and I love fufu. I live in Toronto and usually pay $10 for delivery to get fufu. I’ve been wanting to make it for so long so yesterday I went and bought my cassava and plantains. I will try this method it’s my goo processor
Saw this yesterday. Did this last night did not boil cassava and plantain soft enough. Loved it coarse. In the islands we use corneal we call it coco ( c instead of f) turn corn, fungi.

Hi Ernestina , thanks for sharing. I did it the other way. I blended the plantain plus either cassava or potato raw with a little water. Then transfer the mixture into a stainless steel pan and cook while stirring until it cooks becoming moundable ball in the pan.
Hi Valerie, you're welcome and yes that is also another way you can do it, but this way imitates the traditional way it's pounded back home which is why I prefer it this way.
Ive been wanting to make something called Yebe that my daughters grandma makes. She used plantains, casava, goat, and and some other stuff but i cant find the recipe. Saw these ingredients which were close and stopped by. Thanks for the inspiration 😅
I don’t have it on the UA-cam yet but in the meantime please check my Instagram @Etinaa where I have the full recipe for the goat meat soup under my highlights ☺️
I have one so good, you can get one in agros, l use for fufu all the time, the blender is called ninja, l use it for almost 5 year now, and still look new
I tried many times using my ninja blender but all attempts failed..... You can simply blend your cassava and plantain , cook it in the microwave. All the best.
Course, if you use the right blender as per the video you'll be fine. This is the only way I make my fufu now - but you can't use a normal blender for this.

Reminds me of Puerto Rican mofongo and Dominican mangu... I want to try making the foo foo as it’s the original!💕
Your soundtrack is too loud. Try to balance in future
Beautiful recipe 🥰 personally I use my Ninja combo dough hook, instead of the blade (less of a hazard, for the same yummy result😉)
Nice I’ll check that out!
Merci pour la traduction en français ❤️🙏
I try using a hand mixer and it is much easier

I don’t have a bigger blender like yours, I have the normal so the question is can I use it to get the same consistency?

Pius Bayo Just blend it raw and then get the blended one and stair in a pot on a stove
@@daintyflygirl4va I appreciate the solution .mine was cooked when the blender failed..
You can't use a normal blender for this, it will need to be the Ninja as it has special and stronger blades.
Pls show how to make your dish
Good
Can wait to get my pot so I can try!
Ahhh, don't worry it will be with you soon!!☺️🥰

Thanks for sharing. But too much hands and water? Use a spatula next time and to mould just move the plate around and toss upside down it works.
You suppose to use your hands
Ppl do what's easier for them. Maybe that's how she finds it comfortable. Just enjoy the recipe!
Are you the one eating it a beg please leave the lady alone to each his own 😒

Green plantain is the best. But if you want to use ripe, then it shouldn't be extremely ripped but medium or little ripped.
Definitely never the ripe plantain for fufu. Actually why not?
