Hi @matts3658, you need to replace the failed hard drive and then rebuild the RAID. You can find instructions on the rebuilding process in the following Knowledge Base article: dell.to/4g8bGfi You can find instructions on the hard drive replacement in the Service Manual for your specific system found at dell.to/3Z3VlCc If you need further assistance, you can open a thread on the Dell Community at dell.to/4e74dLT Thank you.
Before I have 2 drives in raid 1 with 4tb, i did replace 1 by 1 hard drive 8TB because it borken, after rebuild done, i continue to replace the second drive with 8TB (so now i have 2 same drives 8TB in RAID 1). The question is now raid disk space is only 4TB, how can i maximize with 8TB? My dell server is R730
I have a hpdl360 g7, i want to set a raid 1. Based in the above clip, if twi hards have different size, or different speed, the smallest one is take in each hdds and raid could be set up. But my question is that could it be possible to make raid 1, using hdds with different interfaces. For example SAS and SATA in a raid 1 configuration. Thanks for your advises.
Actually I have two servers same configuration. But one server three hard disk was not working conditions but another same configuration that server hard disk replace with not working server.. Is it possible? How it can do process.. Please suggest us
Hi vishnu murthy, if the HDD is working in a different system, then the HDD seems fine and the problem could be the HDD controller. You should run a diagnostic on the System that shows the issue and contact the Dell Technologies Support. How to run Server Diagnostics: dell.to/3sjIpI8 Support Contact Information: dell.to/3GWy1Kl Thank you.
HI, I have a quick question. I have a T330 tower server with two SAS drives in raid 10. Two logical drives one for boot one for data. Can I replace one drive with SSD wait for the raid to rebuild and then replace the second one with SSD and wait to rebuild? Looking for better speeds thats all. Both SAS drives are perfectly healthy. Thank you.
Hi Quail Run, you can not mix drive types in an array. This means, you need to create a new RAID if you want to use SSDs. You can backup your data and copy it to the new RAID once created but keep in mind that this does not work for the OS installation. If you have any further questions or need help, please reach out to our support staff on the Dell Technologies Community at www.dell.com/Community Thank you.

I have a same question. did you find the answer to this question?
same question here.. have not found answer yet
u might have to reformat it, or go to the disk partition and reallocate the storage.
