    Hahahah 15 seconds! Thank you.
    Virtuovice is a damn legend. I made our Chanel because of him id say. He created our passion of knives.
    Thank you so much for this video!
    The handles are not stabilized so definitely give it a whipe of oil every now snd then

    I bought this this the day the DBK video came out and have been batoning wood with it DAILY for the small wood burner in my shop. Old lumber from a collapsed building, crappy half wet chinese elm limbs, twisted and stringy pine logs.... I've beat this knife like it owes me money and not a single fault so far. The sheath is of good construction but I will agree that it doesnt retain the knife.

      Excellent thanks for sharing. Are the handles moving around the pins as a result of batoning?

    • @wsieber89
      @wsieber89 9 місяців тому

      @adrienjames not even a little. I did chip a little chunk of wood off the handle scales on the left side though.

    Should've used screws instead of pins. Also should have kept the original sheath which fits better than the new type. Pins are NOT an upgrade!

      @adrienjames I just watched the test by DBK and they baton with the knife in the test. They also don't also don't like the sheath because the knife can fall out.

      Agreed! Screws would be much stronger as the pin will break down if you baton regularly, and the sheath is quite lame.

    Looks like a nice design, should get this one! One detail that I like instantly caught my eye is how the steel and wood rises to a symmetrical fingerchoil. Looks like there’s a nice control to this. Thanx for the review!

      I agree. It is an excellent design. I must say it would excel for hunting just as it would for bushcraft. This for me is one reason the knife is a winner. A true knife for the woods. Thanks for watching! Been loving your vids

    got mine yesterday. they've redesigned the sheath a bit, it fits way better now

    • @adrienjames
      @adrienjames  Місяць тому

      @@zaki_vozd that’s great thanks for sharing. Is the new sheath a standard friction fit?

    • @zaki_vozd
      @zaki_vozd Місяць тому +2

      @@adrienjames no, it's still the same sheath. they removed some of the leather material around the handle to allow for a tighter wrap with the strap. as a result, the finger guard now gets caught on the strap and it prevents it from sliding out. it's not perfect, you can still pull it out with some force, but it doesn't fall out on it's own as easy.

    Fine looking knife. I use BPS Savage in the kitchen - full flat grind. Thanks for sharing this longish video 😉

    Seems that mine has the updated sheath. Even with the strap open you can’t shake the knife out upside down. The fire stick handle still doesn’t line up properly to its home but if you insert it upside down it fits perfectly. Lucky it’s just a fire stick and is a consumable that gets replaced over and over anyway so it’s not important since every brand uses a different shape.
    One of the other complaints besides the old sheaths being loose was the dull spine. It only takes 30 seconds on the stone to get the spine to make the spine functional.
    For the $43 I can’t find anything to cry over. Removable scales would be sweet but we can’t always have it all in the very budget price point.

      Can’t disagree with that fine assessment. Great to hear the sheath has been changed up. The pinned handles don’t bother me so much. I have so many knives to baton with. This is a hunting/carving knife for me. Thanks for watching!

    Sir.. stick a square of thick leather on the girth and it's done and the knife will stay in the sheath👍

    Have you actually used this knife in the bush yet? I like the grind it has better than a convex myself

    • @adrienjames
      @adrienjames  7 місяців тому

      Yes it’s done well. Wait a sec - You like the grind it has out of the box with the secondary bevel over a convex edge?

    • @jimmyrutledge4531
      @jimmyrutledge4531 7 місяців тому +1

      Yes because out in the bush it’s easier for me to sharpen on a stone. And with convex you need something padded underneath some sandpaper, that’s just something else to have to pack. Jmo

    • @adrienjames
      @adrienjames  7 місяців тому

      @@jimmyrutledge4531 Of course do what you do but a pad underneath is not necessary. Guys have been sharpening knives out in the bush with convex edges for thousands of years using nothing but rocks. Micro bevels have no true place of lasting value in the wilderness.

    • @jimmyrutledge4531
      @jimmyrutledge4531 7 місяців тому

      Really? I guess I don’t understand how you can get a true convex using a flat hard stone?
