- Hey guys! You've been requesting a video about Gargoyles since forever so here we go....
Gargoyles was a cartoon on Disney Channel in the 90s and it was truly iconic. As I worked on this video I realized how much it reminds me of Batman: The Animated Series which was another favorite of mine.
Please enjoy this video about the first two episodes of the series because the first one ended on a cliffhanger that I just couldn't live with.

Having just watched Hazbin Hotel it is STAGGERING to me how little Keith David (Goliath's VA) has changed vocally in nearly 3 decades.

There's been a big resurgence of Gargoyles merch as of late: the game, the figurines, the new comics, and the reprinting of the old comics. It's a good time to be coming back to the series.

For you who don't know. Back in the day there was this thing called a VHS. I still have the Awaking series/arc as a movie and at the end the is a video assisted board game.
I played the hell out of that game
Keith David has one of those voices where you could listen to him read the phone book and it would still sound great.
Do kids even remember phone books? Christ, I'm old.

As for Gargoyles..She was a cop, not reporter. I dont want to sound nitpicky.. But this is a bit relavant because Gargoyles was the Disney answer to Batman: the Animated Series. While there was certainly a little TMNT influence but much more clearly from the latter mentioned darker show. This character is espexially relavant for it because a lot of people claim it is a blatent ripoff of a fan favorite from BTaS, Renee Montoya. She was also a cop with a very similar personality who leaned toward supporting Bats and often butted heads with the less sophisticated investigator Bullock. She was introduced in the series but would go on to beocme a popular xharacter in the comics, a LGBTQA+ icon for DC and even the new version of the Question who Rorschach is based on in Watchmen. The similarites are pretty uncanny from those early comparisons and it has caused a bit of discourse as a result. People have argued her as a discount Montoya ment to be a human armpiece for Goliath.
7:16 They're end-game, but it's kind of a slow burn. But by Season 2, there's a lot more hinting at the romantic tension between them 😉❤

It's so funny how people talk like the concept of a girl boss is new, but so many of these old cartoons have the women be more than capable of taking care of themselves. Often times, they're even better at it than the male characters. Try telling Demona she needs to be protected and belongs at home. She'll shatter your collarbone and throw you off a cliff without a second thought.

You wonder why Bronx is nonsapient. That's because Bronx is gargoyle beast which is separate species then sapient gargoyles. Closest comparation would be humans and chimpanzees.

I'm late to comment, my bad and because it's been a while since the last vid and streams. I know of Gargoyles, i just never seen a EP even when it was newly aired. I've been fine & volunteer i still doing every week, just a lot of the added vids in my playlists got either taken down or blocked, but i did added more AUS movies, tv shows to balance them out, Marsii on his Aussie Archivist Backup channel is uploading Trapped & Castaway, two Australian tv shows that are related in terms of characters & plot, i already have in the media requests tab along with many others.
Algorithm boost.

They're working on a live action adaptation... I'm sure it'll be.... not so good.
The intro shows that Gargoyles dont use names and Goliath only does due to his relationship with humans. Its agaisnt their customs and seen as a negative human behavior due to their primitivity. The others would adopt them in the modern day but most were not Gargoyles Golaith and hudson really liked. They were considered young and shameful but only survived because theyvwere facing punishment in the rookery when the rest were genocided. Hudson and Goliath have to essentially embrace the clowns as their closest kin since thats all they have left. Its very different for a series like this where they need to be a team. Normally they just are at introduction but only Goliath and Hudson really like each other or have worked well in a serious capacity.
You say you won’t forget for another year and a half but you also said that you wouldn’t forget to do another one for another 10 months so I feel like it’s gonna be a three year wait this time lol I’m just kidding
