- This is going to be a long one so grab a snack and a comfy chair. The story behind this iconic vehicle is hard to even tell in any short period of time. It was initially gifted to Universal Pcitures by Enzo himself, later painted white on the direction of Michael Mann so that it would show better at night on the classic television show, Miami Vice. Later it was purchased by the quintessential car collector and race car driver, Preston Henn. And now Curated has it in Miami, where its going for a little drive in it's old stomping grounds before it goes to its new owner.

Once you get the car completely service you should invite Don Johnson to come down and do a ride-along with you
Yes!
Actual would be great to see Philip Michael
Thomas and DJ.
That's fuckin genius. Let's go, John.
Don Johnston would probably want an appearance fee. 😂
Mr. Don Johnson really needs to drive this car again. That would be HUGE!
Agree 100%
This intro with tv from 80s... I can’t even imagine feeling driving this car on the streets of Miami. The place it belongs. Priceless!
Miami Vice will always be the coolest and greatest show to ever be aired, this is epic and for you guys to do this video in this car at these locations and still find time to stop and save someone’s pride and joy from burning is just amazing, I love Curated even more after that, you guys are the best 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣0️⃣S are so 😎
The Testarossa was my poster car, and this car is the reason why. So cool to see it driving those streets again. Epic video! For 30 minutes I was a kid again. This channel just gets better and better! Levels above any other automotive channel.
Iconic car, iconic tv series, Miami and iconic 80's. The time of this video made me younger ... thank you curated !!
I remember this car on the show as well. Every Friday night without fail I’d be in front of the tv 📺 to watch this show!! Turning 50 in two weeks so this brings back so many memories! Thanks for bearing the heat for all of us!!
I got bit by the retro bug in 2008 about the time when Miami Vice was released on DVD and wanted to see what I remembered as a kid to be an awesome show. Ended up buying every season and watched every episode. My favorite show of all time. This video was absolutely awesome! Every fans dream right there.
Favorite. Show. Of all time.
Guys this was FANTASTIC!!!!!! We grew up watching Miami Vice and dreaming about that car. To have THE Miami Vice Testarossa doing police work and saving the day with an Element Fire Extinguisher is just too much to imagine. The real question though is were you guys wearing socks? :)
The replica Daytona was based off a corvette. Didn’t make Enzo quite happy but hey they got two testerossas out of it. Great episode guys
If I saw that car driving around in Miami, I'd probably have an aneurism.
I started to follow you guys due to my love of Ferrari, because of Miami Vice, Ferris Beuller and for you to get THE car and drive it in its 80’s environment, as cars should be driven, makes me 10 again. Thank you so much. ❤️
It was black in episode When Irish Eyes are Crying driven by Liam Neeson. I saw the cars in white filming and rained out on Flagler. The only other car that took my heart was the F50 at the Collection. Of course I was driving a 74 Mustang II 🙄. Thanks for taking the time to share with us guys. Wish you could do the 3 am drive Where the Buses Don't Run but I don't want you arrested. I might try it someday. It's on my bucket list.
well it was the daytona in that show. one of the best episodes of the series
@FOR FAUXSAKE yes thank you. This video is about the testarossa. The episode he is talking about had the replica daytona - with a real ferrari exhaust note dubbed in. Fwiw thats a real daytona in the very first scene of the pilot Crockett is leaning on.
That’s my childhood dream! Love Miami Vice and the cars got me hooked on Ferrari! I have been in Maranello and my dream would be just to experience a drive in one.
OMG, I can’t believe what I’m watching here! I’ve so wanted to see this car being driven again after just sitting in the Swapshop for years. I live in England and MV was my favourite show of the late 80’s. I’d look forward to seeing this White Testarossa being driven through the streets of Miami with DJ and PMT every week on TV.
Guys, you just have to get the air con fixed, get it serviced and get DJ and PMT together again for a drive…!
This would be epic!
That car and Don Jhonson - perfect! Although the Daytona was great too!
Thank you so much Mr. John Temerian, for taking us along on one of the best rides I've been on since I watched Miami Vice on TV, thank you for sharing this fantastic video with us, God Bless Your Team at "CURATED", your work is above and beyond the next level!!!
Bro my hair on my arm's were standing on end even I felt hot and warm all over. The best show ever nothing can come close to MIAMI VICE. I here there is a new one coming all already airing and plus I saw in an article that a new testarossa is going to be made with some modern touches. Great video thanks for bringing back the 80's MIAMI VICE MY FAVOURITE SHOW OF THAT ERA.
I love Florida, I love Miami Vice, I love Miami, I love YOU Guys!! I’m always so excited when I’m on Holiday in Florida and visit your store!! Thank you for the wo wonderful Video!
Glad youve gotten a chance to swing by. Thanks for the kind words!
I am TOTALLY going back into my youth and falling in love with just the idea of rolling in those ICON cars of the 80s and 90s (Testerossa, Countach and 959). When you take organs for partial payments let me know. Thank you for this literal drive down memory lane. 👏👏👏 The only thing that was missing was some pastel pants and shirts. Oh and how could you own that car without a vanity plate? I'm thinking MIVICE 😉
From the Netherlands, i grew up with miami vice also, hearing the intro was gold😆
I was kinda expecting you to go under the key biscayne bridge. They did so many scened in that location
Where is Key Biscayne bridge? I used to live there and have no idea what you talking about? Key Biscayne is an island in the water.
Both of you guys definitely took a drive down memory lane for a lot of us growing up in that era. I am so envious of the both of you. Thank you for doing this kind of a video. Keep up the great work.
Maybe one of if not the most beautiful car ever made.
Best decade fot TV the 80s.
I am from UK and loved Miami Vice
Absolutely love this tribute to this iconic show car. Grew up watching the show and there was nothing better than being a teen in the 80's in Miami. Loved ever minute.
Still making my way through your videos. This is epic! This place..this car!! I watched Miami Vice and drooled over this car during my teenage years. My inner 15 year old is screaming right now!
This is my very first video that I've seen on your channel, John. Just epic. Sublime. I almost have tears in my eyes. What an era. Life was absolutely perfect. You gave us that taste back on our tongues. I feel it in my bones. I will definitely stop by on my next trip to Miami. Thank you, guys.
We all love John, but I'm not so sure I would take part in a drinking game involving taking a shot everytime John says "iconic". I don't think my liver would take it.
Love the show and the car. Thanks for sharing this piece of television history.
I literally love this. The actual car, freakin' awesome!! 💕 I subscribed and liked. I recommend Hugo Boss or Armani linen attire the next time you guys drive 😎. Also, amazing that you guys were actual heroes during this drive. Proved you are indeed cool enough to drive the icon. 😎 💯 🌴
Don Johnson in one scene in the TV show.. "No Guts No Golory" 1 gear smoked the tires..
Great Drive around the Miami Area, Great chat with Dani and you guys stopped to put out a Fire! Well Done John, never a dull moment on Curated T.V. lol. Stay Safe and my best to You, Senja and little John.
❤🙏🙏🙏❤
FINALLY! Been waiting for this videos for weeks now. 🔥🔥🕶👍🏻
This video was simply marvelous. Just made my day
For those of you looking to see the car on its first appearance, Miami Vice . “Stones War “ 1986.
Very fun to watch!! Thanks for a great video!
These are the types of videos I like - charming, spontaneous and fun! It’s the first time I’ve seen this car driven around Miami.
The car finally got back out into the Miami Streets...it was kept on life support for so long and now it's finally back home !
Amazing video. Thank you
This is amazing. Sonny and Rico approve.
I always wanted this exact car. Had to settle for an ‘86 red / black TR. Maybe someday it will be for sale again.
Wow! This is like a time machine!
Absolutely stunning. As a big MV fan I am really 😍🙏 my childhood dream to ride this car in Miami. You did a great job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Maybe someone already said, but to clarify, the first episode they filmed with the Testarossa had a lot of night driving shots. They decided the car could not be seen well enough, so they painted both of them white, and reshot all the scenes. The car was never seen in black on TV-only in behind the scenes photos.
Epic video
Taking me back to the 80s!
Seriously cool!
loved the roto toms! my 1974 Fiat had fiammi horns too, love the sound
Thank You.... Awesome car and beautiful city. Still watch MV daily.
It's still so good to watch even to this day.
great work John
This was my inspiration ..
Great video as always 👍
Such and awesome gesture to help that guy in the street! As always love the footage and the quality of your videos!
I had been DYING to try one of those Element Fire extingishers. It was an amazing opportunity to test and help that poor guy out who was having a terrible day. (This is Albert)
@@WeAreCurated gotta’ get me one of those haha, cheers!
The lawn guy at 4:14 is having a "damn am I actually seeing one of these in real life?" Moment. In that case I could relate very well, that was probobly my expression seeing an example of one of these in red on Ft Ladurdale beach, & that was something to behold
Loved the series, its my favorite . I only have a scala model of this car from MV
Awesome video! Thx for the sacrifice!
This is my favorite show. It planted the car seed earlier. I own a 90 white/red.
JUST WANDERFULL, TAKE ME BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD
Love it, one of my favourite shows back in the day!!!
Would have been funny if you guys wore some pastel coloured slip ons!!! lol
So cool!!
Throughout 7th & 8th grade (I'm 53) I feasted on the show and more importantly this car. Lol the anticipation to see what was to replace Crockett's black Corarri killed me!
Then, of course, they had to change the opening to the show to feature this car and of course! I love the single high mount driver mirror but tbh I'd like dual high mounts too.
Lol a guy in town did a single driver high mount on his lowered Chevy shortbed
p/u truck and it looked kool!
I was leaving the first Formula One race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2000 I think and this white Testarossa was slowly (5ish mph) creeping, moving with the rest of the traffic. It was a first or second year car (can't recall the mirrors) by the center locks snd what stuck out about this car was that it was dirty and the wheels were also tatty and the passenger exhaust tip was hanging down about two or three inches and a fat, slobby looking dude was behind the wheel. I thought and wondered how someone could drive such a beautiful csr in this condition. You could pretty much gather that the slob wasn't a car guy let alone a Ferrari guy. Crazy.
Wowww great tribute to Miami Vice series this was epic very Nice to see this Testarossa still lives and in a good shape after all these years, awesome footage. Call Don Johnson he must drive again this car. Have to say this the white Lamborghini Conntach S5000 with white wheels and white interior was my dream poster back in the 80s still is my dream car Also this white Miami Vice Testarossa who doesn't remember this 😃?
I can't give this video enough thumbs up!
Wao..Thank You!!
A little off topic, but I've ALWAYS felt the McBurnie Coachcraft built Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona replica looks so much better than the real thing.
We are likely gonna get scoffed at on this particular channel, but I AGREE with you!
Need to do a night drive to In the Air Tonight I was in 5th grade when Miami Vice was a hit and I never missed an episode. I remember one episode that had a white Jalpa.
Phil the shill with Mr P Collins as the villain sir. 👍🏻
2018 I bought a perfect gold and brown 85 corvette only 12k miles. (I know it’s no Ferrari) First drive I blasted Phil collins in the air tonight and drove it 4 hours home to all 80s music was awesome and took me back in time for a short while.
Music can be so amazing. That song brings all the feels.
@@WeAreCurated my go to for first ride in a classic 80s car is “In the Air Tonight 12 inch extended mix” check it out it’s ridiculous!
I need to make the pilgrimage of going from Puerto Rico to Miami just to go to Curated and see the heaven of cars that y’all have.
Helping others..still more important than any car..🤙🤙
This is a lot of people's dream car! WooooW!
Loved Miami vice as a young kid fell in love with super cars because of the countach. Ferrari Daytona chase scene. This car is so iconic to the show but the countach was the jaw. Dropper for me so many amazing car on that show 😍👍🔥🔥
that was not a real ferrari daytona. It was a covrvette with a ferrari kit on it.
@@ohadams8008 yes built on Corvette chassis
one thing that enzo hated was that 1980 corvette kit car. yes he agreed to give 2 new testarossa but he wanted the corvettes destroyed. and since that car was an automatic he wanted it shown don shifting gears to show it wasn't a fake like the corvette was with the auto. that.s why you never saw his shift gears in the daytona. it was a 350 v8 auto with crossfire injection.
I gotta get to Miami ! I'll visit John! I'll bring some of my hustling friends who live down in Miami
I thought you meant the Testarossa caught fire! My bad! Just assumed old Ferrari’s do that?! Anyway, thanks for the tour and history lesson. Watched the series because of that car. Cudos Enzo… you won. He was badass.
I remember cruising a brand new 'vette', top down, up Dixie hwy onto I-95 very late one night, 1970s when there was no one else on the road, music blasting. Miami just always does that to you. 🌌🌴🦜🌴👍🌴🌟🌴🏖️🌴😎🌴💋🌴🌡️🌴🔥🌴🐊🌴❤️🌴🌌
We need more videos like this! By the way, what happened with te car?
"Push it to the limittt 🎵🎶"
That was Scarface.
@@FirstOnRaceDayCapri2904 yes.. but that song gives a Miami vibes.. is like a Miami theme
27:00 - Cadillac limo, Maserati, SEC, Testaorssa, Dino, 911 Slope, SEL... what a scene.
There is a light blue ferrari testarossa with very low miles given to michael mann from Ferrari durring the miami vice days.....it was rarely driven i think it was sold, up for sale some time ago.Ferrari gave free testarossa not sure what colour to Don Johnson There are Mario Lemieux NHL player that owned a white Testarossa. 80s Oilers Gretzky was given Ferrari by the Oilers owner....Owner paid the 1st month then transfered the lease to Gretzky that had to pay the rest, who kept it for sometime before selling it If you can find those cars that would be interesting. Great videos, very informative keep up the great work. I've loved Lamborghini's since i was 5 years old.....Countach was my first car drawing in kindergarden. My teacher asked "What's that? I said "Lamborghini Countach. She asked me Do you know what a Lamborghini is? I said "it's the fastest, coolest car in the world." Still is the fastest coolest.
How much... Like a ballpark figure would this car sell for?
Oh, and thanks for making this content. I'm from Norway and grew up with this show. Thanks again for showing the world. 🙂
I don't know how I missed this episode. I love Miami Vice and got Starz just so I could rewatch all the seasons
Literally Everything about MV, and in particular the Daytona and Testarossa shaped my whole life…
Was great to share your experience!
Thanks #jcr_cars
I think John is great. His passion and knowledge for cars is wonderfully entertaining. I think you would get more views if you stop the little tick you do in between words. Sorry I don’t know how else to describe. Big fan. I think you should have more views if you try it.
i[m so glad to see this Miami vice car on the road , it was so sad seeing in it at the swap shop rest in peace Preston henn
John meets a guy once in 1986. He’s a dear friend of mine. Some guy he once saw through binoculars 15 km away. He’s a dear friend of ours.
The clips of the white Countach chase over Venetian bridge shows 2 different white Countachs
Yup. Good eye.
Not the first here with the idea, but when the car is ready you should invite Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas to see it and drive it to the filming locations, would be great content!
So happy I was born in 81 like everyone else I always wanted this car now I’m in my 40s and looking to pull the trigger on one of these seen one at the toy store in Miami or Pompano Beach would like to take a look at it coming from New York
Feel free to contact us or pass by.. you can reach out to albert@wearecurated.com
For some reason I was thinking that the Testarossa was a custom convertible. I know the “Daytona” they used was, but, for whatever reason, in my mind it was a convertible. Still a sweet ride, regardless!!
John, do you know where the white Countachs from Miami Vice episode are?
Omg Dani Clos!
2:38 Oh man...it must feel so good being in this particular car and knowing people turn their heads for you.
For sure you get that with Lamborghinis and other cars but it's just not the same.
Oh wow I didn't recognize Dani till you mentioned him...I remember him from the F1 a few years ago :)
He has a HUGE youtube channel too.. over 1M followers.
❤❤❤❤❤white testarossa with monospechio ❤❤❤❤❤ bucket list
Granny shifting and not double clutching like you should
Nice video. One thing, here in Australia you would lose your drivers license very quickly if you used a mobile phone like you did while driving.
What's up with the back window decal?
Can't believe you didn't dress the part! Epic video of a quintessential Ferrari
Next time!
What's the name of the synthwave music in the video? Definitely fits the Vice aesthetic 😎
Alienated - ELFL
Seriously my favorite show as a kid for the cars. Got so much better with this car over the McBurney
nice
