The best way to sort pencils is to swatch them. You can’t rely on the color of the barrel to sort. If you swatch, you can see the nuances of the tone. Haha! I just wrote this and you just said the same thing!
I just got that set for myself, done a couple of drawings already that I'm proud of, too. I moved them to a pencil case, if they would come in a faux lazy susan like the crayons do, that'd be better than just a box. They smell good, too.

Jenny, I finally received my box 📦 of 120 Crayola colored 🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨 pencils ✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️ for Christmas 🎄 as well as my 240 Crayola Crayon 🖍️ Tub 🛀 .
They have a beginner set for like $8 that gives you 20 pencils and a free NYC skyline coloring book. It's the one I use, but I don't like how waxy they are, too much build-up. You have to use alot of light layers to avoid it, which is what is typically recommended to do for cheap pencils to get the most color pay-off. If I'm gonna go through all that trouble, I'm better off saving my money & buying the cheaper pencils. Thankfully I found a $30 set of 120 Brutfuner and a $28 set of 120 Deli, both of which behave just like the Faber Castell Polychromos. Then I found a 120 set of Colleens for $50 which are EXACTLY as soft as Prismacolors.

This box must’ve smelled so good lol. I’m coloring a Creative Haven “Dream Doodles” coloring book with the colors of the world markers while watching 😃 wanted to try something different and do a whole page with just the skin tone markers. 😊
when I saw this set of 120 colors, I imagined that it would have in it the 8 metallic colors that it has in a separate box, because all the neon colors are present in this case.
@@JennysCrayonCollection - I think they said in another comment that they go by the rainbow spectrum (ROYGBIV). I personally do it by color family and tone ... so they'd be set up under botanicals/landscapes, seascapes, portrait/skin tones, highlights/tints & shadows/tones accordingly.
I thought it was this one where I left the comment, but I guess not. I did the second swatch dot after having left them on the dash of whichever car I wasn't driving since 12/10. In the Crayola 122 (this 120 plus a silver and gold from a 50 pack) 39 of them had some kind of fade, but the regular "pink" was the very worst. I almost believe it should be removed to avoid using it when something else could be used instead, even any of the other fading pinks. Out of the standard 24 Prismacolor set, only Mulberry changed, but it was bad.
Make swatches is the better way to put everything in order, I can see many mistakes over here, so, u need found a better way to order your pencils, ma´am.
