This is a mainstay in my collection, it is one of my absolute favorites!
10:15 "This is one of the best" - Mr. Horst Lüning
I got this whisky as a birthday present. The best tasting whisky i have ever had!
I see as time goes by from the start of one's journey into whiskey spirits you get sucked in to spending more and more looking for the Holy Grail of taste and enjoyment! Now because of your tantalizing review its now on my to buy list!. Thank you for your great videos. Horst it must be so special to you to enjoy these reviews and tastings with your son Ben. Ben did a great review of the Glenmorangie Distillery Tour!
Nice! I was waiting for this one!
Ahhhh! This is one of the best 18yr olds money can buy 👍
5:43 Legendary Line!
Best whisky reviews!
The very very best chanal
best after dinner Scotch ever. Incredible stuff. Flavor explosions but so balanced with an incredible transition process in the mouth.
A bold statement, gues i'll have to try it and see for myself ^^
I have this bottle and it is fantastic
I agree with the Master and Ben ! Excellent Whisky . I had heard so much praise from friends in regards to this whisky , which is bellow $200 CDN - that I went and get myself a bottle today at an SAQ store here in Montreal in the city of Westmount on Sherbrooke West. It was their last bottle also ! I'm enjoying it right now ! I strongly recommend this excellent product .
My brother bought me HP 18 bottle. I was a bit upset at the amount he spent but damn...this Whisky is so smooth, smoky and good! I shared this bottle with some friends and they thought the same. One of my best whiskeys from the Highland region.
Have you tried any of the blends from shetland reel
Could you please review Australian and New Zealand Whiskeys
Please tell me what kind of glasses you were using in this review.
Great review, as always, guys. My wife bought me a Highland Park 12 about 10 years ago just as I was properly getting into whisky and I wasn't a big fan. I had the HP 12 Viking Honour recently and I loved it. Now, based on this, I need to move up to the 18, too. Cheers.
You wont be disappointed! It's a wonderful whisky.
I feel very lucky that I had a bottle of HP 18yo. Your review is spot on. It was so delicious my only regret is that the bottle is now very empty. I did share it with a couple of whisky loving friends though ( which, if I'm honest, I also regret a wee bit 😉)
😂
How is this compared to the old bottle?
Hi gentlemen, I wondered if there was any difference between the old HP 18 year old and this new Viking pride edition apart from the fancy bottle. Which one do you prefer?

I hope that one day the "Daily whisky intake in order to live forever" get's discovered by somebody ;)
perfection
Great review and excellent dram gents! We did a review of this expression side by side with Springbank 18, Deanston 18 and Bunnahabhain 18 with interesting results. Cheers gents 😊🥃!!
Hey Herrs -- I popped open my 18 and drammed along with you. Mine seems to be smokier than yours. I have the pre-viking bottle. Cheers and happy MLK day.
BTW, one of your best ones in a long while. Nice. Genau.
The pre viking is absolutely amazing my friend
I have the 12yo version and I love it, but do you feel the 18yo is worth the price difference?
Take a look on earlier reviews of HP, as I can remember Horst has mentioned about that difference.
I received one of the 2021 batch bottles as a birthday gift, Is it worth opening or should I keep it in mint condition? I mean one bottle of those in Sweden is above 100$
You should definitely open and enjoy it, only problem is you'll want to go out and buy another bottle!
@@3UZFE You were right... my bottle is empty 😬
Is this worth to buy? I have tried the 12 which is a absolute favourite the 14 yo is also a wonderful one, but the 18 yo cost 100 euro for me buy :/ thats because I live in sweden, so again is it worth the money or should I pass up on this one?
Good question! I love the 12 years, it certainly has a uniqueness that makes me keep coming back to it, especially for the price, it's one of the best quality to price ratio single malts on the market. I sat on buying the 18 years as I couldn't find a good price, most places were asking 2.5-3.0 times the price for an 18 over 12, but then I found a place selling it for only twice the price. Decided to give it a go. All I can say is if you like the 12, you'll love the 18, it takes everything up a notch, the aroma is more matured and smoother, sweeter on the nose. On the palate it confirms it was worth the investment, rich, complex absolutely smooth, seems more oily than the 12 years too. Finish lingers in your mouth with different flavors moving around, especially dark chocolate oaky notes which I absolutely love. A real treat!
@@3UZFEJust bought a bottle of the 18 last weak, but beacuse of the price and age on it as well i want to save up on this one for as long as i can and not open it
Speaking of ben being "not too young," how old is he? I couldn't find anything on it on the interwebz
25-30?
Are there any peated US whiskeys?
There is a pestes bourbon made in Brooklyn NY
Amazing scotch, on of my favorites...but 12 is my go to
cant go wrong
Pity I cant afford it
Have you guys tried Angels Envy Bourbon? You should if you haven't!
My brother gave me a bottle of Angels Envy for Christmas 2020. Very good, very smooth.
Is it worth the money though?
Absolutely
Uh yea...sweet, smoky, smooth. A must buy for sure!
It’s worth the money. I bring it out for relatively special occasions.
Expensive...the 12 yo is great and way much cheaper
What ever you do buy the original HP 18! This Viking Pride is no where near as good.
Nice enough but over priced so a thumbs down.
Not that bad. Some 18yo cost way more
