I am one impressed ART journalist 😊 I’ve spent hours upon hours of videos and tutorials about journal making and NONE have explained it the way you do! I get it now ❤ Thank you, I’m off to gather my supplies and return to make my new art journal YOUR WAY 👍🏻💕
Thank you for reigniting my passion for crafting. I was getting overwhelmed and put all my paper crafting away. Now I want to go back and use your methods. Thank you!
I have watched many videos to learn junk journaling and all they did was show off their journals. I love your video that shows us how to get started! Thank you very much!!!!
Tracy, thank you so much for this great video. I really appreciate the definitions, explanations and step by step directions and suggestions for making a great little journal. You're very good at explaining everything. Thanks again, you're the best!
This was the first time watching a video about journey making and first time watching you. You explained everything so clearly. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
Wow!! I have never heard of these journals before. I have so many memorabilia from my travels and adventures through the years. My ex made me delete my FB last year and it held so many memories. I think I will work on this as a way of mending and recovering from the controlling abuse from my ex.
Analog, handwritten letters, calenders, journals, will and have emerged in a big way. Tech/phone option apps are more of a hassle personally. It keeps me more focused and slows my mind to a manageable schedule. Plus it sparks our creative part of our 🧠 that have been ignored.
I am not new to journal making. I've been doing it for years, but you never know how other's method can improve what we do. I watched the complete process and learned so many tidbits to make the process better and less mistakes. Thank you so much.
I’m watching this for the second time because it is so so useful and all the papers are gorgeous. I’ve saved it to my watch again list so I can find it easily. Thanks Tracie!😊❤
❤ This is fabulous! ❤ Thank you so much! ❤ Each year I’ll make my own calendar on my computer, adding important dates, and so much more. I always have fun changing up the cover and pockets. After doing this for at least five years I still learned something new watching you today.❤❤❤
I absolutely loved your tutorial. I now feel more confident at making a journal. I will watch your sewing paper one too. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely work. Thank you 🦋
This is, by far, the best video about basic signature making and assembling a journal. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It is much appreciated and very helpful!💖💖💖💖💖
This was very helpful wished I had known all this information before making journals 3yrs ago. But, still love all I’ve made & gave as gifts, no one wants to write in them they always say this is art and they display them on shelves at home. TFS, your video was very helpful for me. ❤❤.
Really enjoyed this. You took the fear out of sewing in a signature for us terrified newbies. Off to watch more of your videos now. Love from Deepest, Darkest Devon xxxx
It is pretty dark here in Suffolk too, great British Summer Time lol. You can do this. My video later today is an easy one but tools are required. I make a journal in an hour :-D. 7pm UK time. Hope you enjoy it.
Tracie, this was a fantastic video for both the beginner and someone who has made a few journals. Appreciate your showing an accident or two. After all, these are JUNK Journals! ♥️♥️♥️
There are no rules when journaling. Whatever you are comfortable with. Everyone has their own version of a junk journal and thats ok. Thanks for sharing Tracie. 🙂❤️
These are gorgeous! Perfect for those just starting. Also if you just want to quickly put one together as a gift or to use for yourself. Thanks ! Hugs 🤗❤️
This is an amazing tutorial! I’ve made just one before, just winging it and without really knowing what I was doing! Your instructions are so clear and mean I might actually have a clue this time around! Thank you! ❤
Just a quick comment here. I am not a beginner. I've been making hard, soft, etc covered journals for nearly 13 years and I still learned a few things from this! Just so beginners know that we can always learn something new from Tracie's video's. And, I like how to the point they all are. Never too slow. Always entertaining and new things in them to discover!! Thank you Tracie!!!
I’ve been holding off on trying this but you really did well in explaining and it doesn’t feel so intimidating. Fantastic tutorial, now to wait for my awl and book binding wax thread. Meanwhile I need to coffee/tea dye some copy paper. Thanks for sharing!
Every journal is a unique creation and I believe that it came together with a passion to spend time doing something you enjoy. I love the inspiration I see as just a drop in the ocean. WELL DONE with this tutorial....viv
Thanks for sharing Tracie. It was a pleasure to watch. I did a double take when you showed the old invoices as I used to work for John Dickinson & Co. (a leading English stationery company) in Nottingham, England before leaving for Belgium over 50 years ago now!! John Dickinson himself invented a continuous mechanised papermaking process. He also invented a new kind of paper for cannon cartridges, a type of paper that did not smoulder after the cannon had fired!!! 😄😂
I really enjoy listening and watching you teach. I’ve made lots of journals but I always learn things watching you. I am always inspired by your videos. I love The sound of the paper as you page through the journals. 🥰
Absolutely beautiful! I love their simplicity, thank you for this interlude of "back to the basics"! And i love your blouse, made me think to a butterfly ♥♥♥
what a fabulous tour of journal making from start to finish. Even though I have made a journal or two I watched every minute of this to make sure I was following the correct way to proceed. I like the idea of making sure that you don't mix up the page order as you decorate - by simply removing a page and turning the others sideways to indicate where it goes back in. Great job as always.
Your explanation of stitching it together with the thick book to centre it, was a real problem solver for me, thankyou so much, my holes will be much neater for being shown this xx
Awesome tutorial. I have learned the hard way cutting on pages I didn't want to cut because I missed folding them enough not to not get caught. I love the way you explained everything at a perfect pace for everyone to understand and follow along. Thank you for sharing. 🥰❤️
Fantastic for anyone new to journalling, dead easy to follow with fabulous results. Love how you give alternatives to what you think people might not have if just starting out - loved it xxx
Tracie, what an excellent video! I've been making journals for a hot minute now but I clearly remember thinking that I'd NEVER figure all this stuff out, let alone be able to MAKE something that anyone would want to look at. ...and that "three hole pamphlet stitch??" yeah, I thought I'd never figure that one out, but you should see me now! I still chuckle when I do it. Awesome vid and a terrific refresher. Hugs from the southern California desert, MK 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗
This is great! I never saw the point of these journals because I didn’t understand them. I once watched someone spend a very long time sewing confusing stitches to put the pages together which is when I decided this was not for me. Thanks to this video I really want to go to my room and try this.
This Tracie, I've been making my own journals for many years, I have to say this is the clearest tutorial I've ever seen, you explain everything so well, fantastic job 👏 x
Me again! I just noticed you also took the time to create timestamps for the various sections of this video, and i want to thank you for that as well! Much appreciated!
I’ve enjoyed going over the simple basics. It’s be awhile since I’ve made a traveler’s notebook and I’m inspired to make 1 or 2 ,just to revisit a single signature! 🦋
First time watching and I don't know what took me slow long to get to you, I have watched Andrea for years. I am loving this video cos it's one not using a digital, Why have I never thought of turning a tuck into a pocket rather than adding paper to make one, and using a old book to help stitch? Brilliant, so thanks for that.
Really, at the end of the day what does it matter what they are called... my goodness... they are all wonderful and great fun to make... I have made a lot of journals and still enjoyed this a lot Tracie, thank you so much for sharing...
This will be a huge help to beginners Tracie. I still enjoyed watching all the processes too even though I am reasonably experienced. Makes me want to make a TN JJ again. Tfs all of your wisdom!
I am so appreciative for this video. Thank you so much, Tracie. And you have such a sweet voice, it made it also very pleasant to listen to. I'm going to save this video as I want to get started with this in the next couple of weeks and I want to have this to refer back to as I go along. TFS.
Hi. Traci, Thanks for the refresher on the journals. Been gone for almost a full year due to cancer. But I’m all good now and ready to start crafting. Missed you.❤
Tracie you have done such a good job here! I’ve watched a few people making a journal and this is far and away the best ❤. You explained all the terms for beginners and went at a great pace. I love this size of journal and I want to make this one. Thanks so much!😊😊
That was a great video! The instructions were well presented! This is going to be a great series for the beginners and the experienced alike! I love knowing we all make mistakes. This is a big reason I keep making these journals. There are NO RULES, just new adventures :)
What a fantastic tutorial! I don’t need something so detailed but I appreciate how simple you have made the instructions with explanations of the whys and wherefore, perfect for the absolute beginner. I can always learn something from tutorials where I think I know it all 😊 I thank you on behalf of of the beginners and myself ❤
Wonderful tutorial. I love the tatty edges on my journals, too. I do make my personal TNs with Tomoe River paper because I like to watercolor and use fountain pens which are better for bleed.
Tracie, I’ve made about 25-30 journals. I have to say I learned from this video. I have never thought to put a clip on the first thread in the pamphlet stitch. And I never thought about how you tightened your thread too before thing. Two very helpful ideas! Thanks so much for this video! Loved it! ❤

Oh my goodness Tracie. I needed this several months ago. I was so confused about signatures etc.. I had to google the terms. I also struggle with the number of pages to put into a signature. This was so very helpful! Thank you so much! 💖😊
I know most people loved the video, but watching them while thinking about how I felt when I was just starting out, you seemed to cover a lot of info really quickly. Good information, just at a rapid pace and maybe too much for real newbies. As usual it is the problem of slowing down for new people without losing the interest of those more advanced. ❤
I am just starting on an art journaling adventure. Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Great to get started with so many clear ideas and instructions. I really appreciate all the great information. 😍
I love all three of these books! Amazing images! My favorite in Bridgette’s book are the Chapels and I love the Volkswagen page too. So fun! Thank you for sharing them Nicole. 😊😊😊💖💖

That has to be the best video I have seen for making journals! Great for beginners. So straightforward and yet, so much great information. Loved it! hello from Canada!
I always call it an art journal as I see them as a work of art, regardless of what's used to create it.
Really enjoyed this even though i have made these. I did learn a few new tricks. I lived the second one. It has mt initials on the cover. Hehe BCD.
Yes I think that way about my journal too some pages may look pretty some more organic ❤
Me too! Agreed!
I agree also. 🤗🤗
