Ok bear with me but here is why I think mids are the most pure form of surfing: there are no contests. There is no way to surf mids for somebody else's approval. You do it how you do it, for yourself, same at Malibu as you would if you were a castaway on a deserted island. No tricks, no contrived posing. Surfing for the fun of it. Something many of us lose during the obsessive phase, sadly.
So crazy. I swear I was just watching the Devon Mid Length video last night, and while Britt was discussing the archive shapes of the Huevo Caliente, I saw a mid fish design and thought,”Hmm I wonder if CI will make a Mid Twin?” Then boom literally the next day this wonderful edit gets dropped. Goes to show CI is always going to be pushing the limit in their own classic timeless manner.
The film in Hawaii is at Kaiser's and Ala Moana. Home grounds for me back in the 70's. I know it's not the same the same but it's still Hawaii and still my home.
So is this identical to the ci mid but with twin fins (obviously in a different position than the ci side bites?) . Wondering if you could just add some twin slots on the existing ci mid.
Hi Jeff, it is not. Check there caption gives fairly detailed info. It's diff rocker and slightly diff dims. To get the 2 plus 1 to work properly side fins need be more forward than where we would set the Twin Fins. We tried this and we could settle for a less ideal board on other side of this by compromise and split the difference but after testing it letting them have their own best fin placement made a better board. you can run Twins on the OG CI Mid but would need to find a trailer fin to offset the lack of drive and how loose it will feel.
We just looked. They are the same as on this video. Be sure you are looking at the Mid Twin page on the OG Mid .... here is the mid twin page> cisurfboards.com/products/ci-mid-twin-1
Will not. That is their thing, we have ours. Team is very happy with how this is working, as seen in the video. More info and videos to come on soon. Enjoy
@@craigsteven5343 We have! Lots of boards always being tinkered with. Maybe one day soon will share one. Always based on which board our team is most excited about.

Sure hope CI is paying Devon a residual on all their MID sales! His videos are the reason I bought mine. I love it BTW.
You have to CI mid or twin?
Have 6-8 Mid 2+1... not the Twin
Devon Howard is the current CI sales director 😎🤙
