Stuff like this is why I love asian fantasy. It's always such a beautiful madness. Very scarcely one sees something so insane look so freakingly cool. When I was a kid I dreamed of flying and controlling swords with martial arts because of movies like this
the problem with Asian fantasy is that they have no sense of scale. It always ends where a single person can destroy the entire world with a single strike. And there are always so many at that level that they forgot that society adapt to changes but they still build walls meant to stop a normal person from climbing when everyone flies. That in a world where it can be destroyed any moment, apparently no one cares. Its really rare you see a well developed Chinese fantasy world that fits within that worlds logic.
Sword and martial arts are basically low level Wuxia world. In the cultivation, unless specially train the body, otherwise most attacks are field control. Luffy Gear 5 is also field control as the surrounding turn elastic and everything he touch also has that properties, more interesting to watch than just stand there and shout out name to control attack ;p
I love how the stronger chinese martial artists get the less they actually fight and just stand there while over the top mystical stuff happens around them and they say attack names and bask in how profound the technique is.
If you watch One Piece, it's similar to Luffy Gear 5 field element. In the Wuxia, the body has the limited, but the mind and field has no limit, that's why they often don't use theirs physical body to attack, but more control the field and element within.

I read quite a few manhua and all the martial arts ones start with a lowly human training their body then they breakthrough like 20 stages of body organ bone and blood then they start doing crazy meditation where they become practically immortal with godlike powers usually transcending to another plane of existence. Like martial peak.

Unless the story plot involve the strengthen of the body, otherwise most just cultivation level where they use technique, field and mind to fight most of the time.

Chinese cinema is so phenomenal I just wish they could do better dubs but it's cool cause they're movies are always so fun and interesting while showing us how skilled they are with storytelling
