I have the exact same Honda Accord, year, color & model & i truly enjoy the car. I don’t think the car looks bad at all. In fact, I’m seeing more & more of them on the road so others seem to think it looks great too. It’s a very easy car to drive and very responsive to the driver and my needs behind the wheel. My only complaints are that it doesn’t have a heated steering wheel. I’m glad the 25 has one but that should’ve been there the moment this current look came out in 2023. And there’s no reason why there isn’t a 360-Camera in this car. Honda screwed up royally not having this in there. Aside from these hiccups, the 2024 Honda Accord is a car I’d definitely recommend & this review confirms why this is a fantastic car to own. Great review!
Good review - thanks! I have a '24 EX-L and have put on 7k miles on it so far. Getting a consistent 50-52 mpg. Have noticed a slight drop (48 mpg) during cold weather drives where it is around 30 degrees. Overall I love this car... quiet, well made, and very comfortable. I do agree Honda needs to power the passenger seat and a heated steering wheel would be nice!

We have a '25 Accord Hybrid Touring and the only real gripe I have with the car was mentioned in this video. The front passenger seat definitely needs a height adjustment. It sits way too low for anyone under 5'10" or so. I'm actually looking to buy a "booster" cushion for that seat. Otherwise, this car is very nice to drive. It's extremely smooth, refined, roomy, economical, comfortable and borderline luxurious. I still wish Honda offered the 2.0T option. Unfortunately, that engine is long gone for the Accord.
Honda will be long gone if they don’t figure out the issues within the company. Gas is coming back they will be left behind if they don’t have v6 or 2.0t in the accord in 2026
Great car as always from Honda. Note that the Touring model in the video comes stock with low profile tires that are considered summer tires. It was mentioned in the video that snow tires were needed for winter driving. I personally would go for the EXL model that comes with 225/50-17 normal size tires and provides better traction in snow and ice. I am extremely happy that Honda provides physical controls instead of putting a flat screen tv in the dashboard.
I got the EX-L for that specific reason of the 17" wheels. That's a better ride, better tire wear, and better mileage. I'm extremely pleased with this car.

You LIKE that you can't turn the lights off at night? That's crazy to me. What if you're cruising slowly through some dark space and don't want to blind everybody in range? Pretty much matches my experience after 22k miles in my '23 Touring. 39-40 overall mpg winter & summer, 41-42 spring and fall when Climate Control isn't working hard. Thanks, Accord is one of a few mid-sized sedans left. As usual, the answer is: We learned nothing. This is a marketing stunt. There is no established global car brand (least of all Honda) that still puts out models manifesting major faults in under 5 years / 100000 km. It's a consequence of manufacturing processes improvements across the board. The real problems come between years 5-10 and can only be assessed by querying large numbers of owners.

Until Honda can get a handle on interior noise, I just can’t find myself in the market for one. I’ve had Honda’s before, all of them in the 90s and they were always quietly capable. For the same money, you can get a Camry which feels more like a Lexus in terms of quiet comfort.
I have driven an Accord for three decades. My current EX-L Hybrid is the best yet. My average MPG ranges from 53-57! The drive is silky smooth and the transition between gas engine and battery imperceptible. This bonehead is judging the MPGs based on highway driving. Most people are city drivers and the MPGs go up at least 10%. I bet I could get 50 MPG no problem. The car is way better than this video. Way better.
MY23 owner here... I love the looks, and many of the features, but the lack of a 360-degree camera (so-called AVM) for a car with such a low belt line was a bad decision by the product planners. Also flawed was the lack of foldable mirrors... in this time and age. However, the driving dynamics are superb, along with the hybrid powertrain that ensures more than 40mpg during non-winter seasons. Worthy of C&D's top 10 awards.
No it isn’t worthy of any praise or awards. By the way, did you get the recall notice to replace the defective high pressure fuel pump in your Accord that may crack, leak fuel and start a fire? Wonderful cars, eh?
2:35 I had a 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T with a 6-speed manual and loved it. But I decided it was time to go hybrid, so now I have a 2022 EX-L hybrid. I do miss the 6-speed, and I was a little surprised and disappointed that Honda discontinued the manual.
Carlos, You said 3:56 the back seat was enormous. Did you have anyone over 5'10" sit in the second row? Honda provided very generous rear seat legroom and then forgot the minor detail that adult passengers need a place to put their head as well. No wonder sedan sales continue to crash when the fundamental principle of passenger accommodation is sacrificed in the self-indulgent pursuit of a sleek and 'swoopy' side profile. In today's market practical people are forced into a CUV whether they want one or not.
Some bodies have longer legs than torso. It seems prioritizing leg room over torso height plays a factor for some but not all people over 6 ft. It may vary.
Great analysis, thank you! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
You should test base models without options. $39k is way too high. A good basic mid-sized sedan, priced like a premium sedan is not a good value. It's $10k overpriced.
Although I haven't driven the new Accord, my 2019 Accord Sport 2T manual drives and feels like a much more expensive car. More like a decontented Acura than a Honda.
How do you mean, "work on the interior"? It's easy to use and is functional and comfortable. Their only complaint about the interior design is the gloss black plastic.
I wish the design was a bit more interesting. I like pretty much every Accord design before this. I understand the Accord should be understated, but this design is straight boring. The 11th Civic also went understated but they managed to keep it pretty.
Shame you had to make excuses for the poor lane keep assist. That is a major safety function that a lot of car companies get right, it's not "FORTUNATE" that you can turn it off, it's a shame that you would want to turn it off. Honda needs to get this together but great review otherwise.
Such a horribly bland exterior design and cheap looking interior. The last gen Accord was infinitely better looking vehicle. Stop trying to explain-away how dull this redesign is by claiming sedan buyers want that. When a new vehicle comes out with some great new styling you praise it for breaking the mold, but now you are trying to save face by claiming boring is somehow good. That's a 2-faced way of trying to keep your advertisers happy but skirting around the truth that she ain't a looker and barely has a good personality.
Ok does the 2 L Honda Atkinson cycle suffer from the same oil dilution as the 1.5L engine? Carbon buildup on the intake valves? I'll take a Toyota Camry with the D4S engine and no oil dilution problem, better fuel miles and less expensive.. Boom! .........Bobs your uncle...job done...
The proportions are off. The hood is too long and the front overhang is also too long. It sits too low and is difficult to get in and out of. I don't like sitting on the floor.
The back seat materials are a huge letdown. The door panels are almost completely hard plastic and don’t match the fronts, which aren’t even that much nicer. If you’re going to build a 4-door vehicle, the doors ought to match. I don’t care that some other crappy brand does this kind of thing. Honda had developed a reputation for being better. Now, Honda does this stuff across the entire lineup. Even in the nicest trims and models, you get the mismatched doors. Honda isn’t what it used to be.
Idk what they did with the accord. It used to look regal and classy especially in the sport trim. It made a statement. This new one is diminutive and looks worse than a civic.
The new accord looks horrible. Had a 2020 2.0T had plenty of power with great mileage. Honda made a huge mistake with the current styling and hybrid drivetrain. Honda lost its way. Maybe that’s why sales are declining?
I bought 4 Honda Accord in my life, 2 used; 1990, 1998, 2 new; 2006 and the last one was in 2012. Honda lost me with the with the lowering quality, not sure if I'll ever be a Honda customer again.
I have owned Hondas for 20 years and my children have purchased Honda vehicles. They used to be a quality vehicle. No longer. My current Honda will be my last. My dealership recommended that I put in a claim for yet another expensive repair due to faulty parts. A Timing Chain for $3,000.00 at 170,000 km. Honda denied my claim without hesitation. I didn’t mind paying a higher price for a quality vehicle, however, current prices and lower quality vehicles have resulted in another lost customer for Honda. I doubt they care. There are better quality vehicles out there at a much more reasonable price. Goodbye Honda.
honda hybrids always get WORSE mpg than they advertise. and Toyotas always get better. 2023 camry hybrid LE i'm in is getting 48+ mpg, usually 50. meanwhile this is below 40
It depends on city/highway driving and driving style. If you drive it like a hybrid you will get better mpg. The accord doesn’t feel like a hybrid so they don’t drive it like one- therefore worse mpg.
@ EtMeBuddy I am using Michelin cross climate 2 tires, in Canadian winter. Averaging 42 MPG… How so you ask? Adaptive cruise control + 17 inch tires. I drive fast too and my tires suck for gas savings….
It’d be great if you had a driver in the video who is capable of taking a higher speed left hand curve without driving well onto the yellow center line like more and more imbeciles on the roads do today. Yes it takes a little concentration and effort, but you probably shouldn’t be on the road at all if you can’t do this with a brand new car and in a highly viewed scenario like this! Idk
no way in helll i'm driving 40k mile with only 4?? oil changes?? no wonder people think Hondas and toyotas are not what they used to be when you guys follow bad habits and advice
I don’t like the idea of driving an open-differential FWD car without a manual parking brake in winter when, should terminal understeer ever strike, praying is your only option
enjoying my accord touring. wish i had a heating steering wheel. and while i do not need a 360 degree camera, to stay competitive accord should offer this.
3:43 am I the only one who thinks that the 'maze' style shifters are a better design? Sure, you have to memorize which way to move the stick for drive and reverse, but it doesn't take long and once you've memorized it you never have to look down to shift. My car has the kind that only moves in a straight line and so often when I'm shifting to reverse I have to look down to make sure I'm not in neutral.
80-90 mph is criminal speeds in all but I think 3 states now. As a retired trucker I can affirm that you in fact are a danger to society and more so than many other criminals.
Compared with BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes C Class, Tesla Model 3, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50, Acura TLX, Kia K5, Genesis G70 & Others Midsize Sedan
I'm sure it's a great car, but Honda really missed on the design. It looks cheap, like an old Ford Taurus. The all black interior needs some other colors to break it up. The Camry really excels in that area.
Compared to what? I know it's a matter of taste but the only current cars in this segment that look decent is this one and the A4. Oh, the Alfa is gorgeous . BMWs are atrocious, VWs the same, Elantra looks like a hot wheels flop, small Mercedes models look like old Huyndais. At least this one looks clean and in real life even more so
So when will Car and Driver openly discuss the current Honda recall, affecting 720,810 Accord, Civic and CR-V vehicles (All C&D “10 Best” darlings😂) regarding a defective high pressure fuel pump part that may develop cracks, leak fuel and start a 🔥? When is C&D going to hold Honda and Toyota accountable for their declining quality and reliability? (I guess never because of their advertising revenue dollars😂). The recall affects 2023-2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid and 2023-2025 CR-V hybrid. The leak not only creates a fire risk but also crash and injury🤦🏻.
I am so disappointed. The Accord needs to continue to offer a manual transmission. Not every one wants to drive an automatic. Make it an up charge, I’ll happily pay for it.
Just admit it, they discontinued manual and the 2.0 turbo because nobody was buying it, they will keep offer manual if people actually buy such Accord.

Until Honda can get a handle on interior noise, I just can’t find myself in the market for one. I’ve had Honda’s before, all of them in the 90s and they were always quietly capable. For the same money, you can get a Camry which feels more like a Lexus in terms of quiet comfort.
100%
From what I've read they have noise cx and acoustic glass
I do miss the 6-speed, and I was a little surprised and disappointed that Honda discontinued the manual.
what is wrong with you??? that 2.0 is ubeatable let alone with a MANUAL?? you will regret that for the rest of your life lol
@@AzaelPPCBelieve me, it was definitely hard to let it go. I've driven manuals all my life. But I'm definitely loving the 45 to 50 MPG on the hybrid.
I thought Carlos was like 6’ no?
I'm 6'1" and have no problem with head room in the back of our '25 Accord Touring.
Some bodies have longer legs than torso. It seems prioritizing leg room over torso height plays a factor for some but not all people over 6 ft. It may vary.
what a load of nonsense. I'm 6 feet tall and I fit just fine.
Are you Paul Bunyan? Or just a whiny Toyota fanboy?
People have different proportion. Some have longer torso and some have longer legs. I would lean toward longer leg room if I were to pick one.
That front end needs a refresh so bad
Calling out the dealership for being scummy is a nice touch.
Great analysis, thank you! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
This is a great review, but I can’t help but wonder why it took months between filming and release. There are still leaves on the trees!
40 grand for an Accord? No way, no how.
I like Car & Driver more than Motorweek in testing track speeds.
Really nice but needs some more work on the interior, panoramic roof, better HP
How do you mean, "work on the interior"? It's easy to use and is functional and comfortable. Their only complaint about the interior design is the gloss black plastic.
I wish the design was a bit more interesting. I like pretty much every Accord design before this. I understand the Accord should be understated, but this design is straight boring. The 11th Civic also went understated but they managed to keep it pretty.
My 2019 EX-L is weirdly similar to a 1976 2 door Ford Maverick from the driver seat looking out over the hood.
Ford … always light years ah😂ad!
And has serious quality problems
I find the newest generation Accord looks very boring and they've gone backwards design wise. The previous 2 gens looked way better.
Design as exciting as a used bar of soap.
Too boring to consider.
And you two drive what? Give us an insight to what good design and taste is for you 🙂
Ok does the 2 L Honda Atkinson cycle suffer from the same oil dilution as the 1.5L engine?
Answer: you learned that the 2025 Toyota Camry is better in every measurable way.
The end.
Yep.
Bgm a little too loud
THESE HONDA CAN TAKE A LOT OF PAIN
Idk what they did with the accord. It used to look regal and classy especially in the sport trim. It made a statement. This new one is diminutive and looks worse than a civic.
The new accord looks horrible. Had a 2020 2.0T had plenty of power with great mileage. Honda made a huge mistake with the current styling and hybrid drivetrain. Honda lost its way. Maybe that’s why sales are declining?
I got a 2024 exl hybrid. Not quiet inside. I don't know mybe tires came with . Anyone had this problem?. Got the car brand new.
I bought 4 Honda Accord in my life, 2 used; 1990, 1998, 2 new; 2006 and the last one was in 2012. Honda lost me with the with the lowering quality, not sure if I'll ever be a Honda customer again.
1998 accord is more beautiful that this one 💀
Not sure about this "value" stuff.... These rigs are pricey now! And no 2.0 turbo or V6
Honda is a generation behind Toyota. Hopefully they can catch up soon!
@ EtMeBuddy
I am using Michelin cross climate 2 tires, in Canadian winter.
Averaging 42 MPG…
How so you ask?
Adaptive cruise control + 17 inch tires.
I drive fast too and my tires suck for gas savings….
I get a consistent 45-50 mpg on my 2022 EX-L hybrid. It's rated at 47 overall.
the 2017 one was MUCH PRETTIER than this generic one with a Chinese look
Agreed
Yes styling way to bland. Hondas hybrid system is worse mpg than Toyota.
Idk
The new Accord is less fun to drive now and just a comfy car. I don't think there's a tuning option for this hybrid
no way in helll i'm driving 40k mile with only 4?? oil changes?? no wonder people think Hondas and toyotas are not what they used to be when you guys follow bad habits and advice
I don’t like the idea of driving an open-differential FWD car without a manual parking brake in winter when, should terminal understeer ever strike, praying is your only option
My 2025 Civic type r gets 25 mpg. 😂
enjoying my accord touring. wish i had a heating steering wheel. and while i do not need a 360 degree camera, to stay competitive accord should offer this.
Well done Honda!
You're the only one.😁
Funny this accord is still faster 0-60 then the new Camry
The Accord has the GMA T.50 problem. Who cares if it’s the best car in its category when it looks like a bar of soap with seasonal affective disorder.
Crappy car but hey it’s a 10 Best darling now with a defective high pressure fuel pump part recall in effect.
But….its terrible to look at for a daily.
80-90 mph is criminal speeds in all but I think 3 states now. As a retired trucker I can affirm that you in fact are a danger to society and more so than many other criminals.
Male Karen opinion.
The same money I would rather get a fwd Acura TLX. If you can truly afford $40k, the difference in gas$ is something you can afford.
Compared with BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes C Class, Tesla Model 3, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50, Acura TLX, Kia K5, Genesis G70 & Others Midsize Sedan
Honda of Ann arbor discharged a dangerous chemical in you car without permission.
How much does Honda pay yall for all the positive coverage?
Hondas get the 10-Best awards in return. What a joke
Current gen looks like AI slop. Honda's designers really phoned it in.
It's due for a refresh.
It’s getting one next year for 2026 model.
I'm sure it's a great car, but Honda really missed on the design. It looks cheap, like an old Ford Taurus. The all black interior needs some other colors to break it up. The Camry really excels in that area.
Honda has been failing at their styling for the most part over the last 15+ years. Uninspired or just odd, to put it nicely.
At least this one looks clean and in real life even more so
Honda has the ugliest facelifts.
Boring, ugly, and invisible. The Accord is dead thats why dealer are having issues selling this garbarge
Try making a video without constantly moving your hands. I’ll bet you can’t.
Judging by the amount the camera was shaking, it must have a rough/still suspension. 🤷
My sensible side says buy an Accord or Camry. My adolescent side says buy Tesla Model 3 Performance. Ah, the dilemmas.
If you have a charger at home and a garage, get the Tesla
@@batitsogtsaikhan469 if he want the car for 10+ years get a Toyota or Honda for sure !
@@stephanechamberland8486 Teslas will go 10 years without issue. There's a ton of them with 500k+ miles on the original battery.
@@batitsogtsaikhan469 Toyota and Honda too ! Far better finition !
@ no garage, no charger, and need to upgrade my electrical system from 100A to 200A.
That’s not an attractive car. And no V6. Pass.
90mph on the highway? CHP would never allow that out west.
Grandma car. Nothing cool about. Vanilla. Cars used to turn heads. You can thank women for how boring car styles are today.
This is the kind of unhinged commentary I love to see
@@lucassganderlla7305 he's speaking facts though.
@@lucassganderlla7305Did he touch a nerve?
I am so disappointed. The Accord needs to continue to offer a manual transmission. Not every one wants to drive an automatic. Make it an up charge, I’ll happily pay for it.
Like 90-95% of people want to drive an automatic. It’s a family economy car, not a sports car
@ who cares about being a sports car. It’s about the driving experience.
@@PowerTom_kyleWhy not get the Type R?
Just admit it, they discontinued manual and the 2.0 turbo because nobody was buying it, they will keep offer manual if people actually buy such Accord.
No one shopping in this segment wants a manual transmission. What planet are you on?
Design team that designed the new Accord also designed the 2X4. Ugly as a mud fence.
