Gorgeous Ireland. This series is reminding me of Rachel Allen's adventures in Ireland, where she would visit the quaint shops around her town, sourcing and trying out local stuff. You are one serious seafood lover, Gemma. Interesting fact.
Love Rachael Allen! She is from Ballymaloe, the cookery school i went to after college, for a 'finish' my Mum said!! Wonderful experience :)
Gemma Stafford Love Rachel. She's so inspiring.
Your video made me think of my trip throughout Ireland, when I still had my mother with me. And your video even moved me a little bit. I can still feel the soft gentle irish rain on my face, still sense the lovely smell of irish air and still taste all the amazing food that I've tried there. It was such a splendid and happy holiday I'll always bear in my heart. Thanks, Gemma!!
Thanks for your lovely note, Charles! There's nothing like food memories to transport you to another time and place. :)

So well narrated & presented with a glimpse into traditional Irish cuisine. You're right in saying that the small family run restaurants still retain their charm with their exquisite dishes. Thanks for sharing Gemma !
Thank you for your very kind comment, it is great to have you with us :)
i love this, it's personal and a good local guide to good food. please keep these episodes going, i always love to see what other cultures across the world eat. food is the window to a country's soul
It sure is. Well said. Thanks for traveling with me. :)
I'm already in love with this segment on your channel! It's so cool to see you bring us to your childhood favorites!
Happy to have you along for the journey, Katie. :)
As a Brit it's really interesting to see the overlap between what I consider British classics and what you consider Irish classics. I've been to Ireland many times and their food has always been delicious. I look forward to seeing what other treats you have in store!
A lot of what we consider Irish came to us with the British, and their amazing cooks! Our food would have been really plain, just like the English country people in earlier times. It was a symbiotic relationship :)
I always wanted to go to Ireland. Thank you Gemma for giving me a little tour from The comfort of my couch uwu!!! ♥
Off the couch Elise, on to (www.aerlingus.com/html/en-US/home.html) and visit! it will be worth it :)
I am LOVING this! You make Ireland come alive!
Aw, thanks so much! There's more to come!

Dear Gemma,
This is such a nice idea to take us with you on your food trips.
What makes it really special is not only your passion about food; it is also your talent to describe the tastes.
We don't even need to try it, we can imagine it thanks to your descriptions. It would be nice to try as well, though.
Thank you for the lovely note, Berenice! I really enjoyed sharing my Eats. There are much more to me!
Really waiting for this. Really fun video!
thank you, i am happy you liked this one :)
We visited Ireland last summer and THAT ice cream is the BEST ever. We stopped and grabbed one on our way out of Blarney Castle and it was heaven. Not too sweet and light as air! I tell everyone to make sure they try the ice cream.
yes, Lindsey, and it is a real treat! My Mum says just ask for a child's one, but I cannot bring myself to do that!! :)

You eating scones made me cave them-love them so much!
Hi there, what a lovely idea you have for your channel! I know, and the Kelly's scones are really special. Now get baking. (www.biggerbolderbaking.com/traditional-irish-scones/) the recipe is here :)

Thanks Gemma, this is a fantastic episode of your travel diary. I cannot wait for the next one.
Thanks for traveling with me. More Ireland to come. Then Spain!
Oh wow, i adore this series you have brought to us. Food is so inspiring and this show tells me there is so much out there. I love the look of the scones-a dark golden brown. Gemma can you teach us how to make them like that? Thanks Ashish
(www.biggerbolderbaking.com/traditional-irish-scones/) bake these a little larger, and a little hotter 220C/430F for about 25 mins, that should do it! :)
Gemma Stafford thank you for the quick response on my request Gemma. So nice of you
I love this so much. My grandparents were from Ferns and I honestly feel like Wexford is my spiritual home. I love everything about Wexford. But despite a lifetime of holidays there, I've can't remember going to any of the places featured in today's show... but I'm chalking them up as places to go. When you mentioned the best fish and chips around, I thought there can only be one place you're talking about. I knew I was right when I recognised the white and blue wall!! Unfortunately my grandparents have both passed away now, so my visits to Wexford won't be as frequent. But the dream is to move there, and this series is certainly giving me more of a push!!
Thanks for your lovely note, Amy. Happy that I can take you back to Wexford with me and I hope you get to visit yourself. :)
I loved this video !!!!
Thank you, that is kind :)
Gemma Stafford too much happy you replied 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

Thank you Chelsea, that is very kind. it is always an emotional journey for me :)
Really liked the show and it made me even more eager to visit Ireland!! Also, today I made your best ever brownies, and even though I was in a rush they came out perfect!! Not exactly like yours since I didn't have a baking tray like yours, but still sooo good!
Great Sophie, I am happy that you liked this recipe, and delighted that you will go to Ireland one day, I know you will! :)
Soooo happy to get into this series. The food was making my mouth water!! I can't wait to get to Ireland one day.
I hope you do, Bridget! :)

Gemma, you are so endearing! I especially love your childhood stories! Keep em coming!
Haha! yes, we were lucky, our parents hauled us around the world. My Mum would line us up and say 'remember, we go with the flow' as we headed off on our travels! lol :) and we did!
Hi Gemma
We were in Dublin years ago and we had a toffee lumpy dessert. WE have looked for a recipe and can't find one, can you help us?it was the best dessert we ever had thanks
Jack is it Sticky toffee Pudding? Dates and toffee, and sponge, delicious. (www.biggerbolderbaking.com/sticky-toffee-pudding-mug/) this is a quick, microwave version. I have another one too, Email me at info@biggerbolderbaking.com and i will give it to you :)
It was a sponge and cheesecake with mousse and ganache and I think we had it at the Olive Garden in dublin
Oh Gemma, absolutely loved this! The food, culture and that lovely background music. Would love to visit Ireland one day, looking forward to more videos like this, thank you.
Thank you, and you would be very welcome too! :)
Hi Gemma !! Did you shoot this video these days ( August ) ? :)
Hi Amy! Thank you for traveling with me. My husband and I were in Ireland in mid-June through early July. We had a bit of an extended stay and now we're back home in Los Angeles. Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you for answering me ! I just wanted to know if Ireland was really that cold even in summer .. and probably it is considering your clothes ! It's so beautifuuuul ❤ _ ❤
I love that you've brought your viewers to your home in Ireland! 🇮🇪 there is nothing like Irish wholesome food 😊 one of my favourites is brown bread - not just a brown soda bread, but a sweet, dark, molasses-type brown bread with salty butter. Yum!!! And it's actually quite hard to come by. 😭 Can't wait for the next video. ☘️
Yes, caroline i know what you mean, this is a recent one! Dark, rich and moist. Really you just adjust the recipe a little, add the molasses, and an egg. (www.biggerbolderbaking.com/irish-soda-bread/) you make this a little too wet to handle, pour into loaf pan, and bake at about 220C/430F for about 45 mins or so. This is off the top of my head! but it is not far off :)
Bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you, that is very kind :)
I'm sooo glad you're doing these episodes!!
I want to go to Ireland!!!
You need to visit Ireland, they will love you there :)
So fun to watch your travels! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks a million! I appreciate you coming with me!
I'd love to visit Wexford :) What a beautiful place! Also, the combination of butter, cream and jam looks very unique. Is the butter salted or unsalted? :)
Always salted here in Ireland! When you visit you will be welcome :)
I don't know how anybody living in Ireland could be skinny. All this food looks delicious!! I'm not a big seafood fan, but you make me want to try all of what you had, especially the Crab Mornay! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Ha ha. Lots of shivering. :)
Hi Gemma Can u make a no machine Baskin Robbins ice cream.I would love butter scotch and milk chocochip. 😍😘😘😘
-Aysha from Dubai
Great suggestion Aysha, i have added this to my list. (www.biggerbolderbaking.com/meringue-roulade/) here you will find a lovely butterscotch sauce, which you can use on ice cream too, check it out :)
My family and I moved to Ireland 10 months ago it's just amazing.... The people, the nature, the weather, it's fantastic 🌼 Nice video btw enjoy
Delighted you enjoyed it, Jana. And I'm glad you're enjoying Ireland. :)
Thanks Gemma💗
Seriously I love ❤️ you so much

It's more appetizing to watch a food blog that features the traditional foods of a country than showing fast foods with the same ingrdients ☺!!! Wish to visit Ireland soon💕

Love the professionalism of the video! Really seems like something I'd see on TV that has a tons of people working on it.
thank you, and in this case it was just Kevin! he is very good, has taught himself a lot! :)
Love your story about crab claws! We used to sit in front of the tv eating perriwinkles, sometimes bought in the market or more often hand picked!
Yes! my Mum used to do that in Tramore in Waterford too, taking them out with a pin! not sure I loved the idea of that, lol :)
Wow! Two of my favorite things in the world, food and travel, combined :). I really enjoy this video format!
Delighted you're enjoying it, Danny. Much more to come! :)

Hi Gemma, I am loving this travel series and can't wait for the next video!!!
Thank you, that is very kind :)
Yes! We need more Gemma Eats show! By the way, I'm not a sea food person and I don't like crabs, nor mussles, but for some reason watching you eat and hearing the sound of you talking with food in your mouth and the wsy you speak about it made me salivate! 😱😄😄
Thanks for being here.
@@biggerbolderbaking, always😍! And I'd love more Ireland 🇮🇪 anytime!!! ❤️
Your recipe for scones is wonderful...I've made these several times and they are awesome
Glad you like them! Thank you for sharing!
Gemma, this has been SOOO wonderful to watch! I hope you continue doing this!
This makes me to travel to Ireland! Seafood and baked goods...yum yum yum!
And you will be very welcome too! :)
I'm so glad you're doing a travel series!! If I ever travel here I'm definitely taking notes
I hope you get to visit Ireland, Hannah. Thanks for watching!
I live in utah and here our "scones" are more similar to what most people know to be fry bread. We put whipped up honey-butter on them with jam if you like or make them into Navajo tacos. They're reeeeeeeeally good. I've never tried a " traditional" scone. Actually, I didnt know that a traditional scone was different from my definition of a scone until i saw one on pinterest about a year ago haha. That scone you had looks so delicious too! Wexford Ireland is now on my travel bucket list.
That's fantastic, Maryn. Thanks for sharing. And I hope you get to visit Ireland!
