Spoiler alert…Francis Kurkdijan has just created the best version of Sauvage yet. Why is it better to me? because it’s the closest scent to niche of all the Sauvage options so far. Every other Sauvage, including the elixir, smells synthetic and chemical forward. Sauvage Eau Forte smells the least synthetic and the most expensive. It makes the other 4 versions of Sauvage smell like a drug store perfume. Get your nose on this Asap.
E!!!! Man it's really good to get your take on these scents! I have the original Sauvage, but for me it's like stepping on an air horn -- too much for the office. I typically wear Aventus (og) or TF Ombre Leather. I've enjoyed your videos for years, so glad that you are still in the game!
In my opinion, this is the most interesting Sauvage of them all. It smells more niche and is not the easiest to receive, especially for edt or edp fans. And maybe that's why it has such low ratings, but for me it's a great perfume. This is what I expect from perfume premieres, that there will finally be something different from all those blue perfumes that smell like shower gel. Durability all day on the skin and projection is quite good, which surprised me for a perfume without alcohol. A big plus from me and I've already ordered it 😉
Tom Ford is Hype Williams and Francis Kurkdijan is Director X when it comes to dressing up a fragrance with a masculine profile. John Varvatos and Narciso Rodriguez makes the fragrance and clothing list too, men 33-50 years of age this is it.
I can get a 100 ml of this @ a retail store here in Canada for $220 CDN/163 USD. But because I'm a Senior I can get a further 20% off ($176 CDN/130 USD). I think the US stores are charging way too much. Yes, it's a Great fragrance. Thanks for nice review.
I wanted to like this but unfortunately it's not for me, however I do appreciate your take on it. I can even get over the no alcohol base, but on me it performs like a skin scent and I was disappointed. I do like that it does not have that harsh metallic top note though from the original EDT
I got my hands on the remainder of a sample of Eau Forte. There was less than on full spray. I sprayed it on nearly 10 hours ago and it is still wafting away on my skin. The smell, is nothing like any of the other sauvages. To me, its more along the lines of a Gucci Absolute, La Yuquawam or some other aquired taste smell. It is divisive. I find it quite pleasant
I had the samples before the bottle came out and tested it with the ladies. I had them review it on a scale of 5, and they all gave it a 4 out of 5. They loved the smell, so that's all I needed to hear from them. I don't know why it's getting low reviews.
My scent of the day is together with you and great video and I enjoyed it and I like this fragrance and I give it a 8.5 out of 10 in my opinion and have a blessed day
I tried it out today. It's projection is almost non-existent, but sometimes when I do smell the points where I sprayed it, it's still there after almost 9 hours. Not very strong, but my wrists, inside of elbow, inside of my t-shirt all have this noticeable wood and talcum powdery smell even now which is pleasant. For me, it may be something I wear to office or when I am at home by myself and I don't want to project it to the world but to revel in it myself. Very subtle!
When u wore it, how far did u spray it from your skin. This needs to be sprayed very close to skin so it leaves a thick layer wherever it’s sprayed. I found that by doing this the scent came to my nose with ease. It projects but can’t be sprayed from afar or it will wear lighter than it should. How did u wear it?
@@SimplyPutScentsI did spray it pretty close to the skin, considering it is water-based. So I went with 2 sprays on each wrist, 2 each behind the ears, then one on my chest. Lasted me 10ish hours on my body. Additionally, I sprayed 4 sprays on my coat+shirt. That lasted 28 hrs
Don’t understand the hate. The white substance evaporates. It doesn’t stain your clothes. It’s fire. It’s different. And it’s strong. Think Oud satin mood without the Oud.
personal preferences: Acqua Di Selva (by Visconti Di Modrone), Silvestre (by Victor), Wood and Spice (by Proraso), Acqua Di Pino (By Pino Silvestre), Agua Brava (by Puig), Tabac (by Mäurer & Wirtz), Brummel (by Puig), English Leather (by Dana), 4711 (by Mäurer & Wirtz) and Pierre Cardin (by Cardin).............. all those fragrances come in EDC (Eau De Cologne) concentration................ you cannot get more macho fragrances like those, they have pedigree, sophistication, and high status and they are the representation of the "mature, elegant, self-confident, wise solid personality and strong character mature man" ........... and these colognes are less than half of the much more expensive new fragrances of today.
Haven't seen ur videos since the pandemic. I must have forgot abt ur channel until i saw this review. Man u re grown like a gentleman haha. But bro. Pls get rid of that orange frame. It's annoying. Love your review. Will get eau forte in my sauvage collections.
In 2021 Sauvage Elixir has become my signature scent. It is the one and only fragrance i owe that has been complimented by both sexes, all ages, and the only one that gets every single time it's worn. It lasts long, doesn't become boring, it is an absolute masterpiece from Demachy. I also use older batches of the edp time to time. Eau forte was an absolute shock. Pathetic price, no projection, and smells like a slightly off nivea moisturizer. The worst in the line, but it was expected from Kurkdjian and his "artistic" veins.
lmao... Respect your opinion but totally disagree. It smells amazing to me. It's not trying to be the loudest of the bunch. It's made for people who want an easy breezy alternative. I'm noticing a lot of people talk about the performance and I'm wondering how folks are spraying this. U can't spray this scent like u would an alcohol forward scent. It needs to be sprayed very close to skin. Your skin needs to feel and look almost drenched and it has to be allowed to dry without rubbing or dabbing. You may notice a different experience. On my skin people notice it and it lasts for 7 hours easily. but I spray it liberally and close to my skin.

I actually had luck layering it with the elixir. They work well together. Much ❤️

Interesting to learn about the glycerin base

Great Review 👍
Besides Justin Copeland you're the other UA-camr speaking the truth
What’s up E? Do you think borntostandout will be in Bergdorf? I smelled dgaf and sex and cognac and they are ok.

I felt the scent on someone and it reminds me of grapefruit, am I wrong?
I love it too 🫡💯
If you saying it’s that good, then I’d like to buy a bottle from your store…how can I make this happen to support?
I’d suggest getting a sample of it first. Trying it before buying is important…
@@SimplyPutScents cool, where can I get a sample
Yessir
To be honest it didn’t last on my skin long. I couldn’t see myself paying $200 for it. My scent of the day Baccart 540

No version on that fragrance is good to me
lol...
"Leaves a really intersting..." Hmmm.
The smell of the scent is all that mattersz
does anyone else get a cashew note off of it
Just picked this up today ….HORRID
Smells exactly like Hugo boss but can’t remember which one
I respect your view but I disagree. I’d wear this over any other Sauvage so far.
Red 2013?
I couldn’t find the Hugo Boss that smells like this Sauvage, the Red 2013 bottle is the only one I couldn’t find in any shop to try, I don’t blind buy
This shit is trash,bro.
The og wasn't good either, elixir is the only one decent.
Elixir is overrated.
