Westham made such an awful decesion not having Edson Alvarez not start in their starting XII. Guy is a monster and always wins 95 percent of his arial duels and closes gaps by assesing counter attacks.
He was missing through illness today, so nobody's fault. We do miss him when he is absent though - does so much of the 'ugly' side of the game, and the defence looked all the more exposed without him today, especially Aguerd.

Cheers, been waiting all day for this. 🙄 Also well done to whatever berk it was on the West Ham social team who posted a 'preview' to todays snafu on Facebook at 9pm. It really made me look forward to a game we'd already lost 5-0 5 hours earlier.
These kind of results are not normal for a club with this tradition and quality of players.
They have easily one of the best midfields in the league : Soucek, Ward-Prowse or even Paqueta, who is better this season.
They have a hard working, good finisher with Bowen and a very excitig talent with Kudus.
Maybe they're lacking one leader in defense but even there, they've got promising players with Aguerd for example or experienced consistent ones like Coufal.
And with all that, they're finishing 14th last season with Rice !!
And they seem to always play like they had Burnley's effective...
Not one single player turned up today. I understand the closeness of matches week in, week out. That is not an excuse at all for players/…athletes at these standard.
