    Just also wanted to say I learned several things from your video about how to stay better organized, the wraps you had on your dodgers during travel, your tool kit on the transom for pulling hooks, bait board by the motor. You definitely know your stuff. Thanks for sharing with us your stuff.

    My family grew up on Summit Lake. My dad grew up on that water in the 60s and I did in the 90s. We had a house about in the middle. Moved away in 2002. I miss that lake so much. Saw my house at the 17:10 mark

    My 9yo son and i tried kokanee fishing for the first time today. Only caught a SM Bass. I had no idea bass would be 60 ft down but at least we didn't go home empty.

    Excellent video, looks like you know what you're doing! Western WA is my home also.
    I especially appreciate you showing the downrigger setup. I understand what they do and how they do it, I just had never actually watched the process of attaching the line, dropping to depth, etc. Thanks for not editing that out.

      Thank you so much. I left those details in because it was not that long ago I was looking for videos showing what I’m doing now. I am still learning everyday. Some days I may look like I know what I’m doing but most I’m scratching my head. Thanks again.

    Sweet. Nothing wrong with those kokes at all. That is a great lake. I've never fished it, but did some canoeing there a long time ago. Glad to see the kokes are alive and well in there!

      Ya super healthy Kokanee. This is the year of the Kokanee. I’m really hoping the heat wave did not hurt the future. This lake is worth the trip this year

    I’m new to Kokanee fishing, and live on the west side. Sure wish I knew which lake that was 🤣
    Been out a few times at my local lake and still haven’t gotten a Koke yet. Great content, got yourself a new sub.
    May your hands smell like bait and your lines stay tight 🤘🏻

    I grew up fishing at lake when I was a kid. My parents had a cabin there at the time I love that lake I miss it now I’m in my 70s what kind of net is that you are using

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch  Рік тому

      This lake is Rich in History. I have heard so many stories from my friend Dave Vedder. His best friend had a cabin on the lake. Rollie? I think. The Net is a hodgepodge garden rake handle with a cheap frabil metal loop with a replacement all rubber basket from Amazon. Thanks for watching Rick.

    For me (i.e. I don't know about other viewers) videos of 10-minutes or more are a commitment. When the subject is fishing for salmonids (not so much other species), or crabbing, clamming, shrimping, AND I know the source makes enjoyable, interesting, entertaining, and, importantly, informative stuff, viewing time is not an issue. I'll either watch in the moment if I can, bookmark, or subscibe. I like your videos. Nuff said.

      Keeps the motor from bouncing on the trim motor and transom while going down the road.
      You can buy what’s called a transom saver. I choose to use a piece of soft wood

    When you have a limit of 1 foot blue backs you don't need any advise or criticism. The longer format is great viewing. Scenery was great, did not look like especially big lake to narrow down the catch zones. Seems like the thermocline scene is making the Summer swap. Be interesting to see it in August.

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch  3 роки тому +1

    My partner and I pulled half dozen limits from that same lake this year. Great size. Did you notice the gill parasites when you went?

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch  2 роки тому +1

      That is so good to here. Well not the parasites but the limits. I did not notice them. So glad to see this fishery popping again. I’m definitely excited for 2022

    West side lakes special rules (Summit Lake - Thurston co.) size/daily limit. I thought it should be limit 5 Kokanee. Maybe i am wrong. You caught 10 Kokanee. All the lake Kokanee limit 10 ?? Thanks

    I LOVE kokanee, but after years of dinks, I prefer Lake Roosevelt where they're measured by the pound rather than the inch. Those are nice fish though, don't get me wrong......

    Great informative video. Hard to believe you're fishing alone. Before I bought a boat I would pay my dues to fish with buddies and co-workers that already owned them. First boat I fished out of after moving to WA state was a Lavro up on the Skykhomish and the second was an Arima in Elliot Bay. Coming from a background that didn't involve much angling, living in the Seattle area changed that in a hurry.

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch  3 роки тому +1

      Lavro is another great boat builder. I love hearing these stories. We live in a great place with so many great opportunities. Thanks for the comment and tuning in Troy.

      When I do get a sec I reach in the bag and pop a gills with my finger. Always bled by the time I get back to the dock.
