I distinctly remember begging my mom to take me to a McDonald's, thanks to Saturday morning cartoons. My mom said " It's too expensive, why would I pay more money for crap when I can, for cheaper, cook four better burgers at home. Finally, when we did try it, McDonald's' was disgusting. My poor mom. I look back now and she would cook a nice meal and my siblings and I would be like "spinach gross" and I still hate meatloaf, barf. lol
My kid pestered me to go to Mac Donald’s. We went one day because he needed to use the toilet. He stepped in, looked around and said in disappointment “it’s a chip shop?”. Turns out he thought it was a play farm. Partly from the song “old Mac Donald had a farm” and partly from his friends enthusiasm for going there and partly from our visits to other play farms, he had got completely the wrong impression.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and mom's meals were very 50s like. A meat potatoes, a canned veggie and slice of bread (white or wheat) with butter. Always a glass of milk. Mom always buttered the bread for us as kids and when i visit her, i hand her my slice of bread to butter for me. She looks at me, rolls her eyes but i know she gets a kick out of it.
Something that isn't talked about is how we have all become more sedentary. That's also a big issue, we're moving a lot less, thus using a lot less calories

I'm 16 I know how to cook I love new recipes I don't eat a lot of meat maybe once a day to once a week I love pasta and fruit I can't have beef so a meal for me is commonly fried tofu and rice with sweet soy sauce

I didn't really learn to cook more than pasta or simple recipes until I got married, and now I call my mom if I have questions about things not coming out quite right. Some things are tricky for some people, such as cooking with milk or getting a sauce to the right consistency or selecting a cut of meat that 'looks' lean but really isn't. But we should all learn at some point.

People were a lot more physically active in the 1950’s. Even if we weren’t as nutrition conscious, we weren’t eating ultra processed foods and we burned them off. Depending upon when in the 1950’s, in Britain, there was still wartime rationing.

tbh my household dinner looks the same as the 50s. peas, mash and meat. My mum will add broccoli and coleslaw and thats it. I like the idea of home blended juices instead of buying bottles juice full of sugar.

Also, I don't think we, as in countries such as US/Canada/UK should go back to the 1950s style of eating, although the smaller plates are a good idea. That's not 3 oz of "protein," that's 3 oz of beef. Beef is not pure protein. It contains water, fat, minerals, et cetera. Using "protein" as a synonym for meat isn't really scientific.

The macronutrient is carbohydrates, but they do provide all 9 amino acids together; 12 grams per 240 grams, if I'm not wrong.

Umm.. 3 oz of beef has only 22 grams of protein. You would need a steak 3 1/2 times that size to get 75 g of protein.
