- In high winds and on small boards the Heli Tack is a great way of turning around.

The aquaplaning helitack is more difficult to perform than a gybe but the sight and description of the same as it's being performed does make it appear more easy to attempt even for any beginner.
Windsurfer designs since they were initially invented have also made most of the actions for either beginners or anyone experienced at the sport to practice the same with greater ease and speed.

At what knots did you surf at this video?
Also, what size sail did you use?
Sail size is 5.7, probably around 15 to 20 knots, these moves are easier to practice first on a large board and small sail to understand the "feeling" of the move. Above 5bf are always fun to do but more difficult.
