  • “That I think is the diagnosis of the apparent schizophrenia of the Conservative Party on immigration.”
Kemi Badenoch’s new immigration is too “complicated” and is a sign that the party is “obviously panicking” about how to stay relevant, says former Conservative MP Matthew Parris.

Three wealthy liberals, agreeing with each other's opinions on things they've heard a little bit about.

There's nothing remotely complicated about derogating from outdated 1951 UN Convention on Refugees and ECHR and another international law that prevents remigration or mass deportations to the Ascension Islands and countries of origin, as well as any government passing the necessary domestic legislation to enforce this. Any government can do whatever is necessary and whatever it takes. What's lacking is merely the will to do so.

The Tories aren’t even remotely relevant to the conversation anymore. Who cares what they say?

The Tories are the official opposition and the second largest party in the country, by parliamentary representation, councillors and mayors. They are and always will be part of the conversation.

I have always voted Tory, but they are finished for now and are in the wilderness. Reform will replace the Tories, and i imagine Reform will he in power or the opposition.@@abishev

These pundits seem quite content to comment on Reform UK's policies whilst obviously never having bothered to find out what Reform UK's policies actually are. To me this makes them alll seem quite stupid and bigotted. Sadly the general public seem to form opinions based on what these bigots have to say.
