  • How to cook Ginataang gulay (exact ingredients below)
    Ginataang Gulay is a very healthy Filipino dish as it's composed of vegetables and simmered in coconut milk. Serve it with freshly cooked white rice. Best combination with a fried fish as well.
    Ingredients:
    1tsp of baking soda (for boiling vegetables)
    1 small-sized ginger (sliced)
    3 cloves of garlic (minced)
    2 small-sized onions (sliced)
    1 cup of coconut milk (2nd extract)
    2 tbsp shrimp paste (sauteed)
    1 tsp of ground pepper
    2 slice of fried pork belly
    2 bundle of string beans (blanched)
    300g of squash (blanched)
    1 cup of coconut milk (1st extract)
    1/4 kg fried shrimps

      ask ko lang po, why do we need to boil veggies with baking soda? is it applicable to all veggies for blanching? and how about pag meat po? tia.

    Love pumpkin and all Squash, they really go good with coconut milk, could add some curry for a different dish.

    Good morning, from Vancouver, Canada! Katatapos ko lang lutu-in ito at 5:30 in the morning. Naalala ko kasi may butternut squash( kalabasa substitute) at long beans na blanched and prepared na sa freezer. This is the 2nd time i made this using your recipe. Of course, napakasarap! Thank you!

    Ask lang para saan yung baking soda? Ano po nagagawa nito sa gulay kapag pinakuluan? Me I cook it differently, nanibago lang but i will try this which recipe is the best!

      2 purpose po, para malinis at para matingkad ang kulay ng gulay, as we can see po ang ng kulay ng sitaw kasi dahil sa baking soda tnx po :)
