Good question! Since I haven’t grown up with pointing dogs that was not an alternative when I started hunting. The only possibility was to find the birds myself. Walk-up hunting. However, I find walk-up bird hunting really exciting. It’s kind of «me against nature». Over the years you learn where to look for the birds. But, of course, as a walk-up hunter you need to work alot harder to get your birds. The hard work of a pointing dog hunter is before the hunt, with all the training. I wouldn’t really compare those two types of hunting, because they really are quite different. It’s two totally different ways to hunt birds. That being said, I find it funny that this question came now. In a week I am pikking up my very first pointing dog puppy.
Husker ikke lengden den var, men det blir uansett individuelt. Kappa den ca en cm😊 Eller, dvs. at jeg fjerna ei plate bakerst på kolben. Plata utgjør ca. en cm.

Hei torje! Hvilken rifle er det du brukte på rev? Så veldig fin ut🤩
I videoene mine har jeg brukt både Marlin X7 i kaliber .223 og Tikka T3x i kaliber 6,5x55 på rev 🦊😊 Begge fungere veldig fint til det.
