I've been wanting to redo my cover of this song for quite a while and ever since Mark has posted his exquisite animatic I felt so inspired to go back under the sea and re-do it all over again!
This song means everything to me...it truly does. I don't know who I would be without it.
I truly feel so much proud of how much I was able to improve on this, especially on my vocal control, phrasing and acting. I've realized that this is actually a really difficult song when it comes to trying "not singing it", it's pretty much why Ashman called it a sung monologue.
I tried my very best to make my own take on it while taking in consideration all he wanted out of this song. The final result is something that I feel really proud of, which isn't a very common feeling I have out of something I've done.
This week, on February 14th, I'm also having one of my biggest dreams coming to reality: I'm meeting Jodi Benson! ;__; yeah...I still can't believe it myself either! I can't wait to tell her everything Ariel and this film has meant to me over the years.
So this is for Howard, Jodi and every little boy that grew up loving Ariel!

This was and still is my favourite Disney movie. And my favourite shower song!
I always related to Ariel right away, because I never felt like I fitted in with anyone or anywhere, and I my relationship with my "father" cannot even be described as a relationship. I was always by myself, enjoying my own company, doing my own thing, hoping that I could find a place I would be welcomed for who I was rather than regarded as weird and an outcast.
