Kilkenny play everyone for fools. Cody said before the match were playing the best team in the country. He knew the expectations were on limerick also that the break would make them rusty. Kilkenny jumped on them and never let them get a rythem. Without doubt they go into the final raging hot favourites. They will steamroll wexford or tipp in the final. Yet Walsh says there is no favourite in the final. Kilkenny remind me of kerry. Play it down. Talk it down. Praise the opposition. Then kill them.
Raging hot favourites?😂 find me 1 bookies who agrees with you on that, Kilkenny brought a savage intensity to the game but Limerick should of known that was coming, Tipperary will hurl Kilkenny off the park if they match their intensity!
I always think Kilkenny's simplicity of approach is their strength as opposed to an anachronism. Play a game you love all your life, that gives you all the tools you require to take on your man and win 51% of the interactions. That's it. I always think the way they play is a great recipe for taking on life.
The break didn't suit Limerick, Kilkenny steamrolled them for the first 25 minutes. Limericks heart and doggedness and skill got them back into the game against a tough and determined Kilkenny side who were not giving up their lead. Limerick were extremely unlucky not to get the 65 at the end, had it gone over I do believe the momentum would have been on their side and it probably would have been their day. Take nothing away from Kilkenny, they played like champions but they were lucky in the end.
I thought the ref left himself down. Is wasn't a penalty and Gillans leg and ball was over the 21 line. Some of the decisions for both sides where odd leaving things go and pulling for small things. Fair play 2 Kilkenny they are never gone
I disagree Ger, if you wrap your arms around a player like that who's running in on goal you're in danger of giving away a penalty. And it's not like Gillane did an Anthony Nash on it. It was a good penalty. And you could also say at the other end that Fennelly took over ten steps on his run in to goal, which could have been a free out. At the end of the day it was a game of small margins. Limerick deserved the free/65 in at the end for an opportunity to equalise, and should there have been a replay there'd have been no excuses about the four week break. But take nothing away from Kilkenny and Cody. My admiration for them has always been high. Cody is the greatest hurling manager of all time and Kilkenny have been the greatest hurling county for decades.
@@tomassharkey560 I didn't see any hurley being pulled on the replays. Gillane was running after another defender not even paying attention to Lawlor anymore, looked like Lawlor just stuck the hurl in and lost his grip on it.
@@cigh7445 Brendan Cummins said on commentary that the hurl was clearly pulled from his hand. The arm around was a penalty after. One thing for sure is that the officials were not up to scratch in either semi final
sorry Tommy how could you see it from the Hogan stand, I was in the cusack stand lower and buckley deflected it, umpires were behind the net, yes we didn't play well enough and KK were the better team but was a 65 , the officiating was very poor and now we are out , don't care who wins it now
good hurling and accuracy won this for Kilkenny. Limerick's incessantly poor passing game and inaccuracies lost it. How many wides? I lost count! Kiley should bring in a technical coach to teach the players how to strike the ball accurately. As for Limerick's passing tactic: Why does a guy in space pass the ball to a player who is marked. It should be the other way around. The guy who is marked should be seeking and executing to the guy in space. The point of a passing game is to create space not to negate it.The ball travels faster than than the player. The kill zone for points is the opposition's 60 meter area. The kill zone for goals is the final 10 meter area. Limerick never dominated these areas yesterday apart from the excellent Dowling who gave Limerick a lifeline goal. As for the officials' missed deflection from the final sideline cut, Limerick have only themselves to blame for being in the position of trying to rescue the game with a Hail Mary play at the death in extra time. I am a Limerick supporter and would say that Kilkenny deserved their win. Kilkenny played, we didn't. However, its frustrating to observe that the game was there for Limerick if they could take it, but they didn't. Like Italian wine, Limerick do not travel well outside the province..
Limerick supporter my hole. You could have congratulated Kilkenny on their win without bashing a losing team that gave their all. They will rue the wides, but that's hurling. Accuracy wins games. Kilkenny have always known that.

@@johnc3668 I hope tipp do hurl them off the park like 16. But realistically it will go down to the 75 minute.

Can anyone tell me what's the story with gilane stepping over the line for the penalty,I was under the assumption it's a free out.am I wrong?
It doesn't matter if he steps over the line, so long as the ball hasn't passed the line.

Galway beat kilkenny and are out now no sense of this structure trans like lower class teams will be destroyed next year only 5 teams left
I detest this kind of Talk Show. Show some good hurling instead. If I want to hear BS, I can go to a local bar and enjoy a beer while I suffer.
