I'm curious why you don't cut the copper wire bindings from the motor's or pull the core's out of the pool motor's? It's really easy to do especially when you stock pile a large amount and do them all at once. I've been scrapping in Az for several years and learn a lot along the way and it truly pays to separate and breakdown in bulk. I also agree with the other comments about cutting dirty copper pieces creating more #1 copper for a higher price! I'm always down for a good Az scrap run! Stay safe and find that metal money!
Wow, it's got to be tough scrapping in the Arizona heat! I'm a a scrapper in central Arkansas and all tho we usually don't have that kind of heat, the humidity here is Horrible! Our scrap prices are holding right now at 7 cents for shred steel per lb. Can't understand why your prices are really low! I'm a enjoying the content in your videos and look forward to more! God bless and stay safe!👍
Thanks for the nice comment! That really means a lot. I was just in Arkansas last summer, first time. I had some family move to Morrilton. Really pretty area.
When you said the ceiling fan blade brackets were made of zinc I hit the subscribe button. Conduit connectors are also made zinc, some are steel but you don't you don't see to many of the steel ones. I have been called all sorts of names by fellow scrapers for trying to help them out on the difference between zinc and aluminum, your knowledge was refreshing. 🙂 My stomach jumped into my throat when you said what the price of steel is down there, why is it so low that's disgusting. This was my first video of yours that I have watched and I enjoyed it, looking forward to future videos from you. Take care 😊
Thank you for the great comment, it really means a lot to me. And I like to take as much advice as I can. I always thought those were aluminum myself, till I learned what they really were from the scrap yard guy😀. And yes, the prices are dismal. I guess I’m just used to it. Thanks again for watching.!!
I do love my neighbors to the north! I was fortunate enough to canoe the boundary waters in the Quetico provincial park back in 1989 for a week, it was amazing. Thank you for watching!
You might want to check out some other scrap yards some pay less for some metals because they don't have the room for it but in Ohio we are getting.05 to .06 a pound for steel but if I go to a small yard they try to give.03 a pound I mean at six cents a pound instead of 16 you would have gotten 80 I mean even if you have to drive 30 minutes or so farther it's worth it
Thanks for the advice. I will do that. It’s pretty much bare-bones here, unfortunately… in regards to steel….It’s been that way for a very long time. But thank you for watching. It means a lot.
New here - great run. Keep after it my friend. You sell much of your finds or just scrap? Do they require you to remove the housing from the ceiling fans? What a pain. Happy Hunting.
Nice to see you here!! I’ve watched many of your vids! I am strictly scrap. Resale does interest me, but I don’t have the facilities or abilities😀. And they do require the housing to be removed if you want a “clean motor” price… and The mastery of the removal of that motor from the housing was quite an accomplishment for me😀 Thx!
@@Salvaging-in-Az WOW low prices AND extra work - they have you working like a dog. Keep after it my friend. Hopefully things will turn back around for us eventually but we certainly can still have fun in process. Happy Hunting.
Unfortunately, in Arizona, due to subjects of the meth head variety. In order to turn in bare wire, or bare copper retrieved from motors, one must have a “account” with the scrap yard. …..An account entails that you have a registered business with the state of Arizona. I am working on getting that done. But in the meantime, this is the best I can do. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it more than you know.
@@Salvaging-in-Az It's that bad down there wow look into the tax law's in your state about being a business where I'm from in Ohio if you are a business and sell the scrap yards scrap you have to pay sells tax and income tax at the end of the year I didn't know that the first year and got audited I miss calculated buy about five hundred dollars and I ended up having to pay almost three grand with fines and interest
@@nelsonfisher7151 Thank you for the advice! I do appreciate it. I heard something about the taxes as well. I will definitely look into that, you definitely do not want to owe the government!!😳😩 Thank you for watching! I really mean that.
You need to cut off any soldered joints off that copper pipe. You will get #1 copper price for it. Anything with solder is #2 and pays less. I would check the prices at other yards. What they are paying you for shred steel is rediculous.
Thanks for the info about the copper, I didn’t know that. And I agree, the steel prices are terrible, From my many years living here, Arizona has always had terrible steel prices. 😩. Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice.
Lol scrapyard worker dude..."god dammit".halariousness
LIKE from Argentina mí Friend good Video 👍🇦🇷

Where in Illinois are you from? I'm in Champaign-Urbana.
Mount Prospect! Had family in Brookfield and Springfield. I was pretty young when I moved, but I definitely remember the cold!!!
