This is the reality of millions of the OFWs. They'd rather send the hard earned money back home for their family's welfare than to spend it with expensive plane tickets that is why it took them so long to come home. Some are away for 10+++ years that their kids dont even know them anymore. Thank God there is internet now. Makes everything a bit bearable. We're praying that there would be enough sustainable jobs so that there wont be a need to export Filipino workers anymore.

While OFWs are a blessing, it is sad that they have to work abroad because our government has been incompetent for decades. Leaders were/are not that serious in providing good job opportunities for the people.

Yeah, like my titas they are ofws for many years now and they've missed so many special occasions specially christmas with us. We only video chat and I know while talking to us with a happy face in the video call behind them is a heart longing to come home and be with their family specially their children.

It hit me hard. My father was an OFW more than half of his life. He never once was there when we were born. I have 3 siblings. He never really saw us growing up. He's almost 4 years gone and in heaven. How I wish we were given a chance to spend more time with him growing up but we would never be where we are now without him. Thanks Dad! ❤️

  • @crischansan

You're both great moms and daughters.
It's hard for both the parent and their kids.
My parents were also once both OFWs. It was more difficult then because the internet was really not there yet, only telephones.
I also could not imagine how hard it is to leave your children, to work in another country with a different culture and language, be alone, and/or take care/love another person's kid while you're far from your own. Especially when you're from a country, like the Philippines, known for having close familial ties.
Me and my brother were young. I kind of drifted away from my parents because of the distance and lack of communication. And I know, apart from the hardships of being an overseas worker, sometimes they get their hearts broken from their kids not being able to understand why they choose to leave.

what i really love about you two, is that you do not only react to anything you are watching, you’re also giving your thoughts about it. it’s like the differece between hearing and actually listening to something. and i love crying with you two whenever i know that you are reacting to something that’s gonna turn out emotional. how we love ‘torturing’ ourselves, right? haha! but that says a lot about us being human and being able to grasp what we should be feeling about. god bless you, ladies! ♥️♥️♥️

  • @architectjohnmark

This is so hard to watch, we really appreciate your reactions especially in understanding the struggles of the Overseas Workers and their sacrifices.
Me being one of the 10million Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) around the world in 170 countries, with 1 million in Saudi Arabia alone and experiencing those sacrifices for our families back home (Philippines) is never an easy thing.
Homesickness has always been our greatest enemy, but we can do nothing about it despite the technological advancement, while yes! Nowadays it's easy to just chat, call and talk to your love ones from other side of the world, but being with them beside you is totally different. Here, especially when you're sick, you have to accept that nobody will be there to take care of you, you're lucky if you have circle of friends to visit you in the hospital that only if when they're free.
Everyone here has work (not only in KSA) and Work has been the top priority. Here, you do eveything all by yourself. Needless to say the cooking, laundry, cleaning, EVERYTHING just by yourself. Hahaha but life must go on.
Thank you Angelina and Alicia! I love you guys!!!
    - John from Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)

It touched me coz I experienced it and it was so emotional for me and my wife too.We are so grateful for them that we are able to finish our studies after all their sacrifices and now its us serving them.Payback time for their sacrifices.but still so sad about the others especially those left behind....

its more difficult because filipinos are very family oriented so the sadness just tripled and heart brokening.

That's the undefeated Filipino spirit. We laugh and we cry and we sacrifice and willing to suffer for our family.

We just dont have a choice. We have an incompetent and corrupt government. Its not something that you have to brag about.

hyper vision Guess how this all started? Marcos regime started the Filipino diaspora when the country had no economy and Filipinos had no choice but work in the Middle East in order to survive. If you're embarrassed of the fact Filipinos have to work abroad in order to support their families, that's your business. But I would rather have Filipinos go abroad and work so their families have better lives rather than stay in the country and struggle in poverty.

@@maretvilla1531 yeah, i would rather too...but it is something not to be brag about as if we are superior in that aspect.

I guest Jollibee doesnt make all of best commercials. Practically all filipinos can relate to this story even myself. I moved on from military lifestyle, always away from home. I hate breaking my kids heart.
