it's now 2017 snd I've come across this vid for the 1st time. I love this beautiful home. i love the lay out of sinks and appliances in the kitchen. I love the wood floors, the guest suite is divine! the covered screened in patio is well placed and well thought out. but I really love the fact that the garage is NOT crushed up against the front door entrance of this house as so many other home designs in this gated community seem to be.

A lot of American homes seem to spoil the view of the home by sticking a great big double or triple garage out in front . Sometimes even in front of the build line making it look as if the house was an afterthought of the house and the house looks like an appendage of the garage. Why not put the garage off to the side or back of the building it looks much better. This one is much better. Alistair
Alistair, your views are interesting. A few comments: land is at a premium in many of these ocean-oriented communities and so having the garage at a right angle to the house, at the front makes sense in most cases. This also avoids the cost of a long driveway to the back of the house. Consider too that a Hilton Head home has the view to the back, not from the front of the house so a rear garage would interfere with that view. I think that you may be thinking of California-style homes with front entry garages that dominate the front view of the home. It's an architectural practicality based on the narrow width of the lot where the home is located. We have some of that style too, homes on narrower lots with 2-gar garages.
This house is homely, it's like a cottage in a house.

It's a gorgeous home. However there's no closet in the foyer or anywhere near it. Also, did the pantry have a door... I couldn't see one.

Beautiful, classic and timeless decor (I would replace only a few items and fabrics and add a few modern items. The dining room would have the biggest change), brings a great feeling of calm, warmth and well-being. A 1998 house still current for 2021. I'm also fed up with gray and industrial or hospital looking houses. Houses need to retake the path of harmonic lines, of beauty
