10 out of 10 I've seen this movie 5 times now and I love the friendship between Elton John and Bernie. Bernie has been his best friend for so many years already and he never gave up on him no matter what, he even goes to visit Elton John in rehab later on in the movie, that's what I love about this movie is their friendship!
I remember that back in 1972 or 1973 there was an article published in the Los Angeles Times about Elton John’s bisexuality. It was the morning and I had just gotten up. Both of my parents knew how much I loved his music and they actually confronted me about the article and I told them that I didn’t care. I loved his music but I wasn’t looking for a relationship with him, and he had no idea I even existed. I don’t care about other’s sexuality at all. They shouldn’t care about mine either. To live a person’s music and talent is not sexual and I never believed it was. Anyone can be a jerk, kind, gifted, talented, etc. Wonderful traits as well as bad traits has no discrimination. Elton has proven through his career that not only is he talented but has a true humanitarian spirit about him and as an individual he has really made a huge impact on music as well as the A.I.D.S. epidemic.
He didn't give an interview about being bisexual to Rolling Stone Magazine till 1976. He was interviewed by Cliff Jahr. I don't know if the LA Times was writing about him being bisexual or gay but there were plenty of rumors back in 1974 or 1975 when I was in high school. I grew up in a NYC outer borough.
@@jdenino6022yup that's right. I have that article on my computer. It was in 1976 after his Rock of the Westies album came out the previous year. He was talking about retiring from the road even then but of course it didn't happen
@@MzJanuary I feel sorry that he went though all of that with people making shit up about Elton John, to this day I see people making up stuff about him. He's still standing and is going to do a concert for a Children's hospital soon.
We all need a friend like Bernie! Doesn't judge you, respects you. Enough said. Seeing Bernie come onto the One Show he comes across as an absolute down to earth gentleman!
The dumbest thing ever, making a movie about a iconic singer but sounds nothing like him, imagine if the Elvis or Queen movie sounded like that. They RUINED what could have been a great biopic, instead it sounded like a Broadway play.
Actually this movie peaked my interest in Elton John's music again and I started listening to his early 70s albums. I didn't even know a lot of it existed other than most of what I heard on the radio for the past fifty years and I must have memory gaps bc I don't remember hearing Take Me To The Pilot on the radio or a lot of songs. I had the crocodile rock 45 when I was a kid and his Captain Fantastic album but then I was getting into bands like Zeppelin and Pink Floyd shortly afterwards. So I found a lot of earlier music I was not aware of that is great. I didn't know he had 5 or 6 albums before Captain Fantastic other than Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player, He had a lot of output early on that was great to find out about I even bought a few cds of his that I didn't have before. I lost my LP of his years ago. It's a good movie but it leaves out a lot of information that exists online but then it would have been a 4 hour movie. there are a few good documentaries about him on yt that are actually better than a biopic imo. Also his Central Park 1980 concert is online. He does Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding great song. I don't think it's in the movie,
They said it's not a proper biopic, it's a musical and a fantasy It's inspired by Elton John's life Elton John himself is proud that Taron plays him and that he sings himself God bless you all

Love the fact that he says “killed my piano” when she threw a vox continental organ out the window😂
0:55 Look at all those emotions on his face.
Man, Taron is just amazing 👏
3:38 Bernie’s look of sympathy is so funny to me for some reason, I know this is serious but it just makes me laugh
Well it's meant to be funny.
It's not meant to be that serious actually, that's a semi-comical scene
Everyone talking bout Taron.. Jamie was fantastic, should be nominated for best supporting
1:05 that realization he has to tell her makes me laugh every time

This scene made me scream several times, I love this movie ❤
Bernie Taupin is the greatest friend in the history of the world❤️❤️
How come Bryce Dallas Howard looks just like a effing Dolores Umbridge in this movie...
She was really good inthis..I knew it was her but still I was like was it her?? She so believable as a frumpy ,fat British woman
She really does, I thought the same.

@@joesamm1190 You know I'm gonna trust the opinion of the guy who's life the movie is about rather than some random stranger on the internet.
@@HylianKnight02 Ridiculous comment, what other singers biopic sounds NOTHING like the actual artist? It's just plain stupid
