Yeah I used to run RH2 but that stage has so many precise tricks that can be really taxing on the hands since I used to play for hours each sesh. Sunset heights is really fun tho cause the constant back to back chaos controls is insane and really satisfying to pull off.
extremely well optimized run. my favorite part about speedrunning this stage is optimizing the small time losses you deal with to get the optimal chaos control route
Ill just show people this vid if they try and say that chaos control stopping the timer is bad. Sonic games have always been about routing, not just top path = faster always. In sonic 1 green hill, this was shown: you had to dip between the top and bottem routes in order to get the fastest time. So yeah, chaos control stopping the timer is a net positive, the only reason people THINK it makes the top paths obselete is because they hate THINKING, even tho sonic games have always been about planning, routing, and decision making, not just reacting.
Meh. I'm not really a fan of having to throw in specific enemies into my routes just get as many chaos controls as possible. Imo their should be two leader boards, one with time freezing and one without. I prefer trying to find shortcuts and and optimize my movements/timing to stay on the best path. (while with wing runs I'm trying to find the best way to skip big section with wings). Enemies in sonic games for me were more like path openers than required stuff I need to interact with. I understand why people enjoy the timer freeze, but I'm not a fan of it (or maybe I've been playing to much unleashed recently idk)
As much as I understand why you'd want a leaderboard for no chaos control alot of the stages were designed with portions to have chaos control active. E.g kingdom valley has that one forced chaos control warp location. So a separate leaderboard for non chaos control runs doesn't make much sense. Also since chaos control is time manipulation I don't see a scenario where sega would have in not affect the ingame timer.
@@HotFootBunny optimizing your movements and finding shortcuts is still there? Its literally elevated with the chaos control since you have to incorporate enemies into your route, making the route harder to execute and more complex to plan out. You dont need to do it, but if you want a top time then kill enemies. And youre acting like the ememy killing stuff is such a time waste when its literally just homing attack and youre done; no different than the homing attack chains from gens. Also wym path openers? Theyre more like obstacles
DUDE NO WAY DUDE ARE YOU SERIOUS ARE YOU SURE HOLY SHIT WE GOTTA GET GUINNESS ON HERE BRO LIKE NO FUCKING WAY YOU GET YOUR OWN WR THAT'S GOTTA BE A WR IN AND OF ITSELF
does hitting enemies in radical highway not fill the CC meter? I know its locked but cant the bar still fill up if you boost through a couple extra robots, and then you would save a second or two casting it at the end when it unlocks?
Nah I remapped them using the accessibility settings on ps5. I use L1 to chaos spear and change a bunch of other stuff but most people switch chaos control and chaos spear and leave it at that.
@@thelordbantsalot oh wow yeah i switched the spears with the chaos control but couldnt get the hang of it so i switched back😭, nice run btw very impressive
Sunset heights is lowkey my favorite level the opening part with the three back to back chaos controls is baked into my brain now

That applies on Frontiers 1-2. Due to the gimmick and controls of Frontiers the top path becomes a big fat trap.

@@thelordbantsalot Yeah fair enough. It's not really a big grip I have or anything, just kinda a nitpick for me

Nah unfortunately you can't build it during the radical highway portions.
Still longer than any forces level💀
OH YOU DID IT TWICE
Lmaooo funny thing is that I'm not even WR anymore.
Actual WR is here: ua-cam.com/video/OLqbjd-6m98/v-deo.htmlsi=d13ToncIirtdkgxq
do you use the default button for your spears?
