DLM And DSD Infile Option In SAS

- In this session, we will discuss the infile options, DLM & DSD in SAS. The DLM option can be used to specify the delimiter that separates the variables in your raw data file.
The DSD option specifies that when data values are enclosed in quotation marks, delimiters within the value are treated as character data. When you specify DSD, SAS treats two consecutive delimiters as a missing value and removes quotation marks from character values.

Hi Kiran, I checked the video its working fine... please check your speakers
Good video, but it would have been between if you had explained the exact reason for the particular output i.e. In the last example you showed when only DSD is used we are getting improper output, but it would be nice to know why that particular output came. I.e why the output has only "Dona", and rest is not being printed.
Awesome explanation ...please upload a video for PDV vector as well with example
Will upload the video as soon as I will complete the series on how to read the raw data in SAS.... Please wait for some more time
Hi Ankit, I have uploaded the video on PDV. Let me know if it helps you.
Very nicely explained. But what if the data has something like 'india,;state,;pincode,,;1234,;'
