This is better than "The Marseillaise" in Casablanca -- also taking place in 1943. The tall soldier gets an extra-warm hug, I'd guess, because Limping Lotta has known him since he was a little boy tagging along with his dad.
Limping Lotta is the type of gal you would kiss, drink your drink, leave, get a fake moustache, come back, kiss her again and have another drink and she wouldn't mind one bit.
@@d.c.1971 Sweden was, the soldiers are Norwegian. Or Danish? Sweden harbored soldiers from both nations. I can't remember if it gets mentioned in the movie but they're the same army that you see later in the film with far fewer members.
@@puckstopper25 I haven’t seen the movie, but the soldiers and the navy soldiers look swedish. It’s pretty confusing because the swedish and norwegian uniform did look similar during the time. Then again, I haven’t seen the movie, so.

Lotta was a real woman, although she actually died 55 years before this supposedly took place. Most Swedes age 50 and older know this song.

You understand she's doing this because she thinks they're all going to die, right?
