I think that we're fortunate to have a band like this operating in modern days. Not since the 70s has anything happened like this.

there's a music style the gypsies use called 'cante jondo' (deep song). do you guys use this in your album? it is characterized by 'silences and breaks within a word or couplet, starling shifts of rhythm, trance like repetitions of nonsense sounds, whines, howls, groans, wails, and weird thrills and vibrati, along with background encouragement of the lead singer from other musicians'.

what is it... 10 years of volta? close to 20 of music together? how do you keep things from getting stale, how do you keep from hating each other? how do you avoid turning into one of those U2 type bands that just keep going even though they're all hollowed out. where do you see yourself in 5 years? how do you think ( or hope) people will look back on you and your music in the future? how does this compare to your opinions of bands you listen to?

What, in your opinion, would you like to see more of in the merchandising and distribution of music? We've seen pay-what-you-want, downloads included with vinyl purchases, pre-order, Kickstarter, etc. What's next in the relationship between technology and music? What new products are you developing (books, videos, games)?

Not that ALL musicians partake, but it seems to be a common vice among many.
