    the hoth trooper has always been my favorite stormtrooper, I've always loved the long mask on the figure.

      It's hard to explain to a younger generation who don't understand our love for Star Wars, but it really was a love of the toys primarily. We loved the look of these cool figures who were barely in the movies but who meant a lot to me. I've met actors at comic cons who played people like Klaatu and Prune Face based purely on how beloved their characters were to us, via the toys.

    That came out pretty good. Isn't there a way to whiten the limbs up somewhat though? Maybe soak them in hydrogen peroxide out in the sun for a few hours? Some day I need to fix my Princess Leia figure. My sister broke one of her legs off when we were kids. The leg of course is long gone. If I can pick up another broken figure at some point maybe I can attempt a repair like you've done here.

    Is there any significances or rarity to this particular figure that comes apart like this? I’m asking because I own hundreds of Star Wars figures and many are Snowtroopers. Only one of the entire lot comes apart like this. I’ve never repaired it because I didn’t know if it had any significance. Thanks for your help.

    You could have just filled the head holes with superglue, and then gone over it with a white paint marker - that's what I did many years ago. Superglue is a good small hole filler in it's own right. It will degrade, and indeed dissolve, if it gets wet, by the way.

    Can anyone help me with disassembly of an old figure like this? I have a few that I'd like to take apart to make molds from, but I'm worried that I'll destroy them trying to pry the front and back halves of the torso apart. Any info would be appreciated!

    How do I pop limbs back in, if the body is not split in two?

  • @garym6315

    Are you ever tempted to paint these discoloured figures from head to toe in white paint, just to give it a uniformity?

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  5 років тому

      Nope. I really don't like the look of a plastic figure painted. I would rather it looked like it should do, even a bit miss matched.

  • @rebelsatcloudnine
    @rebelsatcloudnine 6 років тому

    Do you have a video on how to take the figures apart? I've got a Boba Fett I'd like to repair, and it would be easier to do in pieces.

    • @toypolloi

      On that figure, I would boil and pop the limbs out. Watch my videos on hot to do that. Cheers

      Thanks for your help. I just watched your 12 inch Stormtrooper video restoration. Not sure why but, I really like that figure, just the general expression of it all. I'm going to keep and eye out for one :D Really enjoying these restorations and fixes :D

  • @HOAXStation

    ohh thats what the insides look like?? weird, i knew they were hollow just because if you glue a head to a torso, the glue will drip outta the leg holes.

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  6 років тому

      Do be gluing the heads on. Use my handy videos to see how to re-attach the heads and have them still possable :)

  • @juliensea
    @juliensea 7 років тому

    Do you have any tips for separating the torso part of the figure like in the beginning of the video? I know they are fragile and tend to break, and I want to avoid ruining the figure when I separate the front and back parts.

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  7 років тому +1

      Once you have the arms and legs out you can normally pry them apart with a screwdriver placed in the leg and arm holes. But go slowly.
