Is Rubber The New Concrete?? (Fence Line Feed Bunks)

Love your project. One thing i have when welding with wirefeed is that you need clean metal with no rust. Wire doesn't burn through like stick.nice feeding station

I have done that rough torch cut pipe saddles many times. It's really amazing how you recycle trash like old tires into rubber mats. Will be interesting to see how they hold up. Great choice using the Bobcat to place them, it's the most fun way in my opinion.

Cleaning the area to be welded using a angle grinder with a flap disk does wonders for making clean and non contaminated welds.

Your welds look like mine!
If thats old drill stem it is magnetized and blows back which makes it almost impossible to lay down a pretty bead. At least for me anyway.

Clean that rust off first and that slag from your cutting and the weld will turn out much better
