Just thought of this, I have used wood stain on cardboard as a finish and it works really well. It takes on a semi-wood grain look if you use a darker stain and holds up well, gives extra strength to the material.

That's awesome! I'm glad you two are making this! I recommend you try going to Costco if you're looking for big sheets. Costco usually has a bunch of bins laying around with free cardboard in them. You could also try asking the employees at the back of the store to give you some recycled sheets of cardboard, which I even do sometimes

I built this and me my gf and my parents at my house played this for 6 hours cuse it was good old simple.fun lile I did as a kid with my brothers on Sunday amd Saturday mornings before parents woke up and built stuff out of card board amd we built skii ball one sat morning as 8 year old kid me and it was 8 foot long I built 9 foot version of this we played on for 6 hours and 3d printed ski balls but tennis balls was better for my bigger one lol
