I'm 65 years old, a former competitive gymnast and yoga practitioner for 24 years. I can say from my experience that this video contains more information than most people normally obtain after decades of trial and error. Spot on!
It's never too late to start. I'm 63, had two silent strokes and have polyneuropathy in my feet. I started training 5 months ago. It builds you up and increases your self-esteem.
Hi Adam, im 53 years of age and really looking forward to try this. You are talking sense, by saying it's not the amount of reps. Im from Cape Town ,South Africa
OMG! I’m not a licensed trainer but I always advise people to perform every movement exactly as you’ve directed! FORM and proper breathing are the most important parts of a movement.
Dood. I'm a yoga teacher for almost 29 years and you are the only other instructor who teaches what I teach. Finally a kindred spirit. If you're ever in LA....
Как отец двоих мальчиков, с уверенностью скажу, что это лучшая подача материала! Показаны ключевые моменты развития нашего тела. И это видео уже сейчас помогает моим мальчикам делать первые шаги в верном направлении. Спасибо, Адам!
I'm 28 years old and I've never been attracted to gyms and lifting weights as everyone else. I'm so glad I discovered this channel. It really gives me motivation and to pursue what's really good for me and my body. All this core strenght is very interesting. That's something I'm more interested in instead of just getting shredded just for appearances. Being able to control my body like that would be so satisfying. It's never too late and I'm glad I'm still able to get the type of body that suits me best!
Fantastic information! Please provide a simple home routine for weakling, completely sedentary people so they can get started on making changes, improving their stability and starting healthier habbits.
completely sedentary people would benefit from simply walking 30 min three times a week. If you cant start there you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
@@rosanaquevedo6554 There are no wrong reasons. Get off your high horse. Plenty of people start out in the gym without going on walks. Even morbidly obese people have started out in the gym and got amazing results. Such gatekeeper elitist garbage.
This was what I was looking for! Thank you for showing all the basics to get started! You were very straight forward in explaining. I've been getting tired of crowed gym. This would help me exercise on my own at home without much equipment. I'm subscribed and looking forward to learn more from you!
I’m a 55 yr old male with severe arthritis in the hips. I’m determined not to get hip replacements so I will try to follow his tips to strengthen core and gain flexibility. Thanks!
I like the way you give advice on sneaky stretches whilst watching tv. The tips on 'setting' your back, pulling the lower back in before stretching forward in straddle position or with legs together is so so key. See it done so badly so often. Form is what i aim for now, and this video is great at explaining why it is so important.
Something completely unrelated. How great you actually own art! 99% of the videos on UA-cam the backgrounds are empty walls or garbage. Thank you for supporting the arts. It’s another level of aesthetics and intelligence.
I was randomly searching on UA-cam for Ashtanga yoga. As a beginner, I’m looking for ways to strengthen my arms for yoga poses. Out of the thousands of videos that I have watched on how to do a handstand, I think yours is the best.Thank you for creating such valuable and helpful content!
Hi Adam, At 52, and just finishing 2 months of PT for my weak right side QL muscle (also abs, glutes, hamstrings,etc..everything you said) that flared up from sitting at a desk all day and was so painful to sit down. Now i have a standing desk at work. I think your video hit the nail on the head. I used to weight train in my 20’s-30’s. Proper form is key. So many guys cheating in the gym just wasting time. Hollow back is what my physical therapist has been building on me. Great poses! Even my 10 year old who is doing gymnastics will be watching this next for help with her handstands. Thank you very much! Excellent video, i just subscribed!
First time watching your video, and I thank you kindly for giving me basic education. All too often, plenty of guys are eager to teach, but for those of us who don’t know where to start, it’s overwhelming, and we quickly move on. What I would love to see (maybe you already have contents created in this regard) is some beginner discrete exercise moves, number of reps/duration, frequency, and what to eat to supply the nutritional demand. Greatly appreciated!
Love how clear and basic your explanation is to keeping a good form. That’s the start of everything and keeps one from injuring. This beginner thank you! Subscribed!
Best video I've seen for beginners so far, definitely subscribed! Loved it! I was focusing on reps with push-ups, I can only do 3 but only my first 2 are in good form. I'm going to focus on full range of motion from now on.
Hi Adam, as a beginner I found this video very informative - explaining some basic principles that other calisthenics video just do not explain. I will defo be concentrating on the basic points in your vid. Thank you.
One of the best videos I’ve seen on beginning and understanding calisthenics, thank you so much! Going to see if you have any other beginner tutorials. I’m currently working on deep squat, handstand and chin ups but I am 33 and overweight and never done anything like this in my life. Most of the tutorials out there for beginners aren’t really for my type of beginner 😂😅
Wow! This is how to get the strength and flexibility of my body. Thank you for sharing! It’s an eye opening coaching to me but felt like I have been looking for it for decades.
Thank you! I found the idea of sitting on the floor while watching TV inspiring. I am already eating my meals in a deep resting squat for a while now with amazing results. But this thing with sitting on the floor while watching stuff, is a nice new habit for me! Great!
I have just watched a video about building strength using 3 to 5 reps max of heavyweights. But after giving my self a hiatus hernia years ago with that idea. Actually with slow and more strict movement as you mentioned it is more beneficial and then you are less prone to injury..great video . thanks
That's just the right video at the right time. I'm in my mid-40's and lost some weight by stopping eating junk. That's good. Bad is, that I lost not only fat, but muscles, too. So I decided to start some training. I don't like gyms and won't train in a gym ever again, so calisthenics is perfect. Already found your morning routine video; I will start with that. 🙂
1. You speak well 2. Very well explained, detailed 3. The text on screen it's good to fix the content Also is just look at your shape... you know what you are talking about for sure!
I am a first-time viewer of your channel. I have seen and heard of callisthenics. But it is by far the best video explaining how each exercise should be carried out at home with no equipment. I am so encouraged to start using your exercises to build skills. Thank you for sharing.💜🥰💕
This is the second video I ever watch in calisthenics and my question was of course, "how many reps do I need to do per exercise?" So glad I got lucky enough to come across your video after watching a bad video. Instant like and subscribe and definitely inspired because you're using logic in your explanation and demonstration. I'm a firm believer in not only how to do something but why I'm doing it. Thank you brother!
Woah, he gave the techniques literally at the end, but honestly, the core body training principles were SOOOOO MY KINDA APPROACH towards exercise. I love em. Thanks. Beginner here...
Man this video is amazing, had a couple of realization moments like the stretching with the right back position.. Also great channel in general, thank for all the info you share
Great video, thank you for sharing! I'm going to start this type of training. For those who would like to balance their strength training, I can help as a certified stretch coach, and I mean real - deep stretching, that actually change your body (re-modeling the fascia). Warm up stretching don't make you more flexible, they just do what they refer to ..."warm up" the body, increase blood flow, create neuromuscular connection before exercise. 😊
I know you are probably to busy to reply to every question on this channel so I totally appreciate if you answer and not blame you if you didn't. How about using the breath to sincronize the movement? Just ensure that the end of the movement in one direction is in sync with the switch from breathing in to breathing out and the opposite. Have you tried this and if yes have you noticed benefits. I felt more relaxed and made me feel like the results came faster. I breath out on compression and breath in on extension of the core.
very good and valuable info, also your core definition is insane. I was close to that after everyday cali workouts for 2 months, my body was elite, was also doing fasting, 2 meals per day in 6 hours interval and a lot of protein eggs, yogurt, chicken meat and fish meat only. Now I just do pullups at home but no pushups, I have a wrist issue from other activities. Very good video, you got a new follower.

Thank you so much for the sofa sitting position while watching TV. I've a herniated disk and I'm having problems in sitting properly to avoid back and leg pain. It feels much better sitting in this position.
