For the card problem, the step accounting for the drawing of the second hearts card is missing. The question says two hearts cards are drawn. He has skipped the calculation for the second card. If you plug in the respective values, you will get the answer 12/51. But he says that the answer should be 11/50 which is the correct answer.
In order to account for the second hearts card, we need to do the following:
Let B represent the probability of drawing the second card as hearts, after drawing the first hearts card (an event denoted by A).
P(B/E1) = 12/51*11/50 (Given the missing card is a heart, probability of getting two consecutive hearts)
P(B/E2) = P(B/E3) = P(B/E4) = 13/51*12/50 (Given the missing card is not a heart, probability of getting two consecutive hearts)
Therefore, P(E1/B) = (P(B/E1)*P(E1)) / (P(B/E1)*P(E1) + P(B/E2)*P(E2) + P(B/E3)*P(E3) + P(B/E4)*P(E4) ) = 11/50
