@TekShinji this was probably the best video review of any product I've ever seen on the internet. Wow man... I also learned a few new things you mentioned on the Octominer's cause of you lol
Shinji, thank you for an honest and legit review. I sincerely appreciate the attention to detail you put into making this video, I can only imagine how much work it was to set up and edit. The review was straight forward and provided really in-depth information about each rig model. I also think that the information and feedback you gave us here at Octominer was awesome and something that will look into moving forward for future production. Our US warehouse is up and running so we're able to ship out parts now as well :). I really like your video style and glad you'll be using the X8+ for your liquid system!
I wouldn't mind that price but only if It would be locally, meanwhile its in china with long wait time, customs issues, and incredibly expensive postage.
Update! Just received my 8ULTRA plus and they labeled the buttons and it has a brace preventing any movement of the back plane and motherboard. They are listening. Thanks for the great review.
Finally an honest review on noise. Love the other YT Miners but they seem to be all starry eyed about Octominer. Great to see the 3090s do work and you tested to see if they fit. Very good review and yeah seems like its too noisy for me. Maybe when I get that server room in my basement... haha Subscribed!
Finally. Someone who is putting things right. And not doing sugar coated review. I watched all the reviews about Octominer and it was odd that nobody finds anything wrong with them. Nobody talks about noise or thermal issues with 3 slot cards. All my respect to you. Thanks for helping the community and sharing your experience.

From an electrical issue both my Server Psu's died on me on my octominer, aftersales support are now replacing them for free. Anytime i ask questions always got an answer latest in 5 hours! So if i would do a bigger farm i will do octominer.

Thank you for your contribution and your videos. I would like to know if you have measured the VRAM temperatures, and if so, what ambient temperature it was at when you took VRAM temperature reading. Thank you very much.
I ordered one for testing in early december, it's now feb 18th and it still doesn't show as shipped (still "processing"), despite the order saying right on it "(JANUARY BATCH, SHIPS JAN 10-20)". I have emailed them and been told this is normal. buyer beware- not only does shipping cost an arm and a leg but expect huge delays.
@@Frontlaven I did, Frontlaven, it arrived this month. It's working beautifully -- and more stable, quiet, and efficient compared to the open air rig it replaced. It arrived with some minor shipping damage that isn't worth raising a stink over - i was able to repair it myself with a rubber mallet and some creativity.
Can we get a comparison with 3080/90 cards open air vs. Octominer/Minerdude/server cases with the same ambient. I am concerned which will provide the least change in temperature above ambient. Heck, no one has do this test. If performance is the goal, then all this convenience yadda yadda yadda doesn't mean a thing doesn't perform.
I had the exact same issue with the x12 ultra, however i removed the front plate near the vent and that gave me more room and i didn't had to bend anything.
Perfect style review next gamer nexus would love octominer just need the price to drop and for them to make it in a 4u or 5u form factor for my server racks
So from what I gather it's not recommended to try any of the EVGA FTW3 cards in any of the octominer cases? You mentioned that you recommend 5mm gap between cards, and with a 60mm spacing on the X12 that would only allow for a maximum of 55mm total card width?
As long as there are not over ~220 a piece you should be fine. When the gap is smaller. There's less ability for devacuate heat efficiently. So if it makes less heat it'll be okay.
@@TekShinji Hi. What measurement are you referring to with the 220? Evga ftw3 3080 ti and 3070 show as 2.75 slot. Are those ok for the x8 ultra plus? ASUS tuf 3070 says it is 53.4 mm and 2.7 slot. Those seem to allow 10mm between cards on x8 according to the specs, so they should be ok right?
@@TekShinji I meant immersion for GPUs not so much the OctoMiner. Although it would be sick to see something like that happen. Been looking into Engineered Fluids and their SLIC tanks for immersion cooling. Interesting stuff if you haven’t looked into it I highly recommend it.
hey do you have any other videos/pictures/info on the open air rig you showed at 11:16? if not , could you please list the parts, it seems like your the only youtuber that has managed to have that setup up and running without any overheating issues, so i would love to be able to make a rig like that, thanks!!!
@@TekShinji looking forward to it. With a couple x12s in hand and a couple more on the way you’ve got my attention. Especially in terms of water cooling things. Anyhow, thanks for the quality content ;)
@@TekShinji another question and perhaps I missed this detail in your video… how well or not well did those FTW3s fit in the X8 and X12. Those vga cables look like they were folded over pretty firmly. I want to try water cooling in the x8 (maybe x12?), but I can’t imagine the inlet/outlets not interfering with the case lid. Plus with PCB measurements of 300mm and the fans being 38mm thick, you already can’t fit the radiators inside the case (if my internal measurements are correct), which means two external mounted 280mm rads… which then begs the question of how you get the water from inside the case to the outside and do so cleanly. Just saying. I’m eager to see this build because I might be interested in mirroring it myself 😅
Hey there, we've actually changed our direction with it and going to be using a different setup but yet again. Yeah they don't fit very well. They need right angle connectors. But the problem is there's no space between the cards for the cables to really go. So they need 90 degree connectors going out the front or they need be pressed over. Really good. Join our discord will continue discussion!
I have a 12 x 3070 rig and an 8 x 3080 rig. I would love these for those. But they're so expensive and take forever to come in the mail. So I guess I'll just leave mine on the open air racks they're on.
You're definitely expensive. During the bear market. These were going for a hundred to $300 a piece. I would just recommend to wait since that's bound to happen.
@@TekShinji I can't believe the price gouging because of crypto prices. Like, I can understand jacking up prices on GPUs and ASICs, but a damn server case? Inexcusable to go from $300 to $1000+.
