Great video, Eric. The section on adding an emergency vent with a sharpened brass tube is great stuff. Happens more often than you can imagine and is a very effective technique to solve the problem. Much prefer this over using a drill bit (messy and causes more issues over time).
I wish I saw this video a couple of months ago... I'm really new to all this and created a mould that ended up having a trapped air issue. I ended up making a 'bung hole' (for lack of a better word) by drilling a 3mm hole in the mould, filling straight after pouring a tooth pick. It fixed the problem, but a little messy if I left it too long. Creating the hole was the issue, I wish I thought of making a brass hole punch like this.
I hope this isn't a foolish question, I just want to make sure that I'm working safe, and creating safe parts. Is it safe to cast resin parts for things like dioramas, toys, etc? Knowing how dangerous resin is before being mixed I just want to make sure that I'm using the right materials. If you're cool with it, do you think you could make videos on how to cast ABS plastic, and how to cast PVC plastic parts too? Thank you so much for your time, and Happy New Year!
Hi Eric, thanks for the great video! I have been watching your content to learn how to cast urethane for some prototypes I am working on and I am wondering if you are aware of any urethane (or epoxy) that is clear and rated to withstand high temperatures (ideally 500F, but that might be pushing it)?
About the box cutting tips - I'm curious. Why not use the internal scale on the l-square? Have you tried making a box from foam board by not cutting all the way through and keeping the paper layer as hinge?
@playstore1988 you could, but I'm pretty sure that I can cut it out of foam core significantly faster than you could measure it, build it in CAD and print it.

I don't know how I got here, but your work is flawless, so I subscribed. 👍
Thanks, enjoy
Great video. I appreciate that you show in detail where you ran into issues and how you solved it. Happy new year!

Goodness, a drill bit? Ouch, that should definitely be avoided, I'm surprised that would even work, I'm sure that's pretty messy
@@EricStrebel it isn't pretty.
Love your work, thank you for sharing!

Won't the Urethane yellow in an exterior environment?
Very cool!
But who are these people who drive a beat-up Honda, yet have the money to commission custom indicator lenses...?
I’m betting the client wants to customise the civic. You know the guy who put a wing on a 1600
Maybe a group buy. Cause imagine this ain’t cheap.
@@colossalbigfoot256 Probably right. He made 10 after all.
@graealex fair question! Good on you
I would guess the honda is a sleeper

Not worth my time I guess.
what about printing the box?

I just thought why not print everything when the holder was already printed anyway.thanks for sharing your knowledge
Those are 90-91 bumper lights
Yeah, something like that
Almost forgot to add the video of degassing... That would have been tragic!
