I enjoy seeing the ones actually using tractors that were meant to till. Really impressive how quick some of them are but all are very bard on the bodies of the drivers.
@@CoinsAndCapsaicin yes was thinking that having been involved in rallying for years that looks a whole lot more fun but you can bet the moment the MSA got th=eir hands on it they would screw it up
That's pretty cool, I've never seen this sort of racing category. These seem like they would really benefit from laterally differential braking to help with powering through the corners. Inside wheel gets the brakes applied as you pivot the steering, outside wheel gets most of the force.
I used to see the Korean farmers ride these "one eyed dragons" through town to their fields. They'd swap wheels for paddles, and into the rice paddy they would go. They had wagons they'd attach and haul evrything from manure, to their families on the weekend. Didn't know anyone else used these.
Probably better thye do not pick it up it would almost certainly ruin it take the fun out of it not good this is just good entertaining motor sport big media would ruin it
I sure hope the farming equipment manufacturers start attending to the needs of their customer base so they don't have to spend so much time modifying the tractor. Imagine how fast these guys can harvest watercress.. amazing efficiency.. well done.
sowas geiles hab i scho lang nimmer gesehen.
Man, this is too much fun!!😁 I wish we had sanctioned races like that when I was a kid. I had a Gravely tractor that probably could have been easily modified for something like this. You've got to have a real set of arms to manage some of these beasts!🤣👍👍
Does it matter how you ended here? Try telling me you don´t wanna try one of those machines....... I would love too trash around in them all day......!!!! looks really fun!
It's been four years since your comment. In that time have you discovered the "Barbie Jeep" downhill racing ? ua-cam.com/video/BrFIsgRIIZ8/v-deo.html .....1.5 million views
it cant have standard steering because it wouldn't be a single axel vehicle , and so not eligible for single axel racing . Although the rear engine seams to be pushing the definition a bit !
Kentucky here, built me a go cart once. Gas washing machine engine, old rotary blade push mower and 2by 4s framing.... but watching this I’ve seen it all
Yeah, they're based on walk behind tractors. Those types have a trailor of sorts that can be attached, that let you sit on the trailer attachment and steer the hand tractor like it was a 4 wheel tractor. I think the rules basically state that for certain classes, the steering method of that type of configuration must be used to be considered a tractor.
Those specials where awesome on the track.....the suspension looks pretty important to me..? [ yeah yeah I know it also needs a motor too] HAPPY NEW YEAR TO AALLL.......;-)
....."Race equation"...[ more than one engine + more than one boy/man = challenge/race ]...it is simple math...with an eventual victor! ...Thank you for posting...A.C.Feuerhelm
They were not exactly tillers, they are so called Einachser. This means single axle tractor. These are small single axle vehicles with two handles, very similar to a tiller but bigger and normally with 8 to 20 hp engines. Farmers here in Switzerland use them to mow in very steep terrain or they just mount a trailor behind and transport stuff. Them they started modifying and racing them.
Wie geil ist das denn? Selten sowas cooles gesehen!
I enjoy seeing the ones actually using tractors that were meant to till. Really impressive how quick some of them are but all are very bard on the bodies of the drivers.
This is just further proof that if it has a motor and it moves somebody somewhere is going to race it.
I can't think of a single motorized vehicle that someone hasn't raced yet.
Its true, there is kind of a cult going around those vehicles in Switzerland i personally am 14 Years old and i have 3 of those ^ ^
Men: Racing everything that moves since the beginning of time.
I assume this started with, “my rototiller is faster than yours!” 😄👍🏻
The front engine ones are like dirt pod racing.
Those were originally Farming vehiecles and the original ones actually had a Front Engine. But in this Video not a single one is original
I take it the (one) rule is to have tiller type steering?
There must be something strange in their Swiss Chocolate. 😂
Looks like a heck of a lot of fun.
Right! I have no idea what kind of homemade shit is happening but I want in.
@@CoinsAndCapsaicin Way better than lawnmower racing...

Endlich normale Menschen !!!!
I suddenly developed a strong urge to move to Schweiz!! :-)
300 + chanells on cable and NOTHING like this. Hard to imagine how the network geniuses miss this stuff.

What kinds of engines are the faster ones using? I would've thought motorcycle engines but they sound different
This is AWESOME!! The front engine ones remind me of a tiller with a seat! Coolest thing i have seen in a long time!😊👍👍👍

City boys will never understand the joys of living on a farm
@@krisg822 that and so much more
I like the ones that actually look like real rototillers with something just hanging on the back to support the driver. Crazy!
I'd watch this kind of racing any day
2:44 xjr1300?
Some of those are not a tractor anymore,.they are revving and running sick,!!soo much fun anyways, they are doing rock racing

Yeah have fun with back problems in a few years I drove one of those big go carts and I thought my spine was going to bust thru the base of my head

have you discovered the "Barbie Jeep" downhill racing ?

I like the layout of the one @2:42 just needs standard steering instead of the tiller steering
it cant have standard steering because it wouldn't be a single axel vehicle , and so not eligible for single axel racing . Although the rear engine seams to be pushing the definition a bit !
philip wakeham right because by that time its not a tiller
No its supposed to be like that, they dont have steering wheels nice the 30s when they where invented
those things r crazy stupid fast looks like fun
Those are really funny to watch. Man has once again invented another way to die!!!!
Der Wahnsinn, so geil !
Looks like fun: Hard work and tears - but maybe doesn't cost too much - a great introduction to learning and understanding motorsport ?
It doesn't cost too much until somebody with money ruins the sport. If it's listed as a sport.
V8 engines, 6 wheels drive, roll-cage and lowered chassis... yeah, let's call them "farmer's tractors" LOL
They were actually ment as Farming vehiecles lmao

nice race video focus zoom centering all steady. The subject proves if it has an engine there is a guy who will make a race of it.

I was in love before the first exhaust note rang out!
We're the hell is the braut stand at? I must have passed it. Lol!
These are those power plows connected to little trailers right?
Ja genau!
The ones with the engine out in front remind me of Star Wars pod racers. Hmmm... has anyone ever done TWO front engines?
No is not allowed
Ok, now .. NOW I have seen everything!

Why is this in a different language? This is Kentucky right?
The Swiss flag might be a clue mate!
There is always that guy that pisses sitting down that's gonna throw the neg camber on it and pretend it looks good
Genau richtig: ist in der Schweiz.

these r awsomly insane looks fun accept for little or no suspension the front wheel drive concept is interesting great vid
This is what the Mars Rover should be like...
20 years from now they'll have steering wheels...
No those vehiecles are basically Mowers with a Back thes dont have steering wheeles since thes were invented in the 30s
Why do they all have that kind of steering? Class rule or something?
Yeah, they're based on walk behind tractors. Those types have a trailor of sorts that can be attached, that let you sit on the trailer attachment and steer the hand tractor like it was a 4 wheel tractor.

Ah. That makes sense. Thanks!
This is awesome! I've been saying for years NASCAR needs to add a dirt road course to their schedule. These people are ahead of their time I say...
im sorry, but who makes room in their garage for this?
Wonder when there going to figure out what a steering wheel is
Bryan vanwinkle You ever seen a rototiller with a steering wheel?

omg the swiss are like we saw this homemade vehicle in Uganda i bet we could make our own and race them.
Would be a lot better with a steering weel no?

Seems like they should just make a class for non-articulated steering... some of these things don't feel like the are in the spirit of the event.
No cause then it wouldnt be a tiller anymore
Some of the most jerry rigged things I've ever seen.

That's just insanely cool.
Now, THIS is pod racing!
Maybe I don't get it but the ones with street bike motors that aren't "tiller" based seem like cheating
In case you missed it, even the ones with bike engines *STILL* have the 2 handed tillers.😁

what in the world is this... rototiller racing??
Where is this?
