Ready for the Dakar Rally: racing truck and 6x6 service truck in the spotlight

Welcome to TimeOut Racing! In this video we would like to inform you for the first time that we will accompany the racing team "Ruppert Motorsport" at the Dakar Rally 2024. With our exclusive UA-cam coverage, you will be able to experience the entire Dakar Rally 2024 in Saudi Arabia up close.
A special highlight is our impressive Ginaf 6x6 service truck, which will accompany us on this exciting adventure. You will be able to be there when we load the racing truck, a Mercedes Benz SK 1735, onto our trailer for the first time and measure it.
However, we run into a small problem: the combination of vehicle and trailer is unfortunately still too high. But don't worry, we are full of creative ideas to overcome this obstacle and find a solution.

▬ ABOUT THE DAKAR RALLY 2024 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Dakar Rally, which will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2024, was founded in 1978 by Frenchman Thierry Sabine. The route of the Paris Dakar Rally at the time ran from Paris to France. After his death, his father took over the rally for a few years, but then sold the rights to it to the Amaury Sport Organization (A.S.O.), which still runs the rally today. A.S.O. is a large French sports company that also organizes the Tour de France, for example.
➡️ 2008 was the first time in its 30-year history that the Dakar Rally did not take place. On 4 January, just one day before the planned start in Lisbon, the organizer cancelled the competition due to an urgent travel warning issued by the French government. In addition to the murder of four French tourists on December 24, 2007 and a fatal attack on three soldiers on the border with Algeria, there had also been a terrorist threat against the rally itself.
As a consequence of the terror threat and the cancellation in 2008, the Dakar Rally was no longer held in Africa in 2009, but in South America. The rally started on January 3, 2009 in Buenos Aires and ended on January 18, 2009. A total of around 6000 km had to be covered,] and the rally not only led through Argentina, but also through Chile.
Since 2021, the Dakar Classic, in which only classic rally cars built before 2000 may be entered, has been held in parallel to the Dakar Rally for the first time.

Bobby is based on a trellis frame, Land Rover Defender axles and a Land Rover Defender Tdi300 engine. The chassis is based on King Shocks and we currently drive a CAN AM Maverick side by side.
