I made a scary goal of running a half marathon after your 2023 goals video. As a newer runner, I worked very hard on this goal. At the very end of my training block, the half marathon was canceled. 😮
I ran 13.1 twice for training so I achieved the mileage but didn’t get to run the race. Now I have 2 halfs scheduled for 2024. Thank you for the inspiration!

I used to think accomplishing the goal was the purpose and prize, but now I realize that the goal is just the motivation, while the lessons learned and memories made along the way are the real purpose and prize. (Not that it doesn't feel great to accomplish a goal!)
I was talking to my husband this afternoon about a hiking goal. I told him whether I reach it or not isn't the important part - it's getting out there and trying. Then my 8 yr old asked "why do you keep wanting to hike these big trails" (read that with all the annoyance of an 8 yr old boy who'd rather be playing video games than hiking). I explained that hiking the trails (the AT and New England Trail) are hard things and it feels good to accomplish hard things.
All that to say, well done for 2023, and I can't wait to hear what you two are attempting in 2024!!!

Ready for a follow up video with your 2024 goals! You and Christine are my inspiration and motivation! You talked about having a group of friends that has big goals motivating you and serving you. I don't have a group of friends like that, so that's where I turn to your videos for motivation. Your videos motivate me to be more active and go on more adventures. I actually just bought a mountain bike because of you guys and cannot wait to ride it this summer! You guys are the best!

My goal is to stay active! I get so busy, I need to make conscious time to be active. I feel better when I do & I perform better in all aspects of my life. I just need to make it happen several times a week. I don’t dare say everyday because sometimes I just don’t have enough hours. If I move my body 3-4 times a week that’s a good week! I love a bike ride & walking with my weighted vest. Good luck for 2024!

You all had a fantastic year 🥰 I turned 60 this year and I looked back at my stats to compare I wanted to hit 6000 km of cycling distance and I made it. I still work full time and I managed 6155 km (3728 miles)of cycling (elevation was at 46553 meters / 152732 feet) and 341 km ( 211 miles) of walking/hiking! WooHoo! Look at me go 😍 You two are totally right - I did a lot of road cycling and that upped the distance is a big way. Plus I don't have any kids to look after so my time is my own. I love how Christine mentioned about riding with all women makes you realize you don't suck. I ride with all men and I totally get it!!! I feel like I suck - a lot.

Your content is so inspirational! Hubby and I are mid-50s, and we took up hiking/walking a couple years ago, and this year did a couple 5k, and a 10k race! We've already signed up for another 10k next year, and we're thinking about a MammothMarch. Being outside and exploring our beautiful state of Oregon is amazing!

Thinking back to the beginning of the year, where Christine did not have any belief in the goals and that she can do certain races...and then seeing the ultramarathon, Lotoja, going on the mountain, etc. I mean I feel like you did it, who cares about that 4200 goal?
And for Dave, the type of consistency that you have, after all these years, is really amazing, don't know how you do it! You guys have gone to so many places this year, WOW! Can't wait to hear about your guys' goals for the new year!
I don't have friends who have fitness goals at all. We used to hike with my friends maybe every quarter, who I used to hang out with, but now I moved to a new country, so I don't really have a friendcircle...but all my life, I never had people near me who were sportspeople. So strange...I guess this is why most of the people in my life think I am some big olympian, although I just work out like a normal person HAHA. :D

You guys are awesome and motivating! I messaged Christine on her website. Because of you 2, I set a goal of 2023 miles for the year. It was a push for me. I did it! I used my spin bike, at home! I live in the Valley of California. Not much in my town. I’m at 2200 miles now. So, thank you!!! ❤

I didn’t have a fitness goal this past year but I did set a reading goal.
Although I used to enjoy reading when I was younger, it’s not something I have done in my adult years. Because both of my parents have suffered with dementia, I wanted to exercise my brain and thought reading was a good way to do that.
I sent a goal to read 25 books for the year which is just over two books a month and I thought it was a very attainable goal.
    Well … I ended up reading 137 books 😳!

I’m trying to run 2024 miles in 2024. If at 6 months I’m not on track I am already saying I can count 1/2 of all H2 2024 biked miles towards it. Not pessimistic, just realistic. 😂

You want something social I’m telling you RAGBRAI is where it’s at. And you’d get SO many good videos from that bike ride. July 20-27 2024. They’ll announce the route in January, but I’m guessing southern so it’ll have hills

While specific goals may not have been met, I still think you both had an amazingly successful year. It has encouraged me to set some goals of my own for 2024 (albeit on a much smaller scale). In regards to physical activities. LOL. I recently watched 2 previous frugalfit dad videos. One for installing lights on the outside of the garage. (Do they still work/was it worth the expense?) Also the video of Dave and Hayley installing the recessed lights. (Please tell me how to spell Hailey right. I've seen many different spellings. LOL) Thank you both and the rest of the frugal fit fam for a wonderful year!!! See ya in 2024!!! You guys make such a kick a$$ team!!! GOALS!!!
